  1. In 2017 alone, the total amount given in equalization payments will reach $17.88 billion. It will be distributed as follows: Quebec will receive $10.030 billion, Ontario $2.304 billion, Manitoba $1.736 billion, Nova Scotia $1.722 billion, New Brunswick $1.708 billion and Prince-Edward-Island $380 million. As for the rest of the provinces which include, namely, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador, well, they won’t be touching any transfer payments.
    The only word that comes to mind after knowing this, is “unfairness”. How could the province of Québec, which is in the best economic situation of all other provinces, receive more than half of all equalization payments?

    Those questions have prompted Calgary MP and fellow leadership candidate Deepak Obhrai to issue a statement suggesting that Leitch’s questions would somehow “keep Muslim out of Canada.”

    It would seem than that Mr.Obhrai is admitting that Muslims expect to have things given to them, don’t want to work hard, will coerce or use violence against an individual or a group who disagrees with their views, and do not believe men and woman are equal, and entitled to equal protection under the law.
    I hope Leitch is smart enough to pin him on this admission.

We may not like the changes the Butts LIBregime has made in Ont, BC, Canada and now Alberta, but the fact remains that the Lieberals have done a much better job of implementing the changes they wanted than any Conservative gvt did since Ralph Klein. Harper had power he could have used but didn’t want to be unpopular. Butts isn’t hampered by that weakness,instead he gets popular, electable figureheads like Clark, Wynne, Trudeau and Notley to take the flack while the LIBmachine rumbles on inexorably with him at the helm. I don’t like what he’s doing to Canada, but I have to grudgingly admire his drive to get it done. It’s unfortunate the Conservatives can’t find someone that smart and ruthless.

  26. Somewhat similar to our senate scandal where no one knows how much was spent prosecuting senators expense claims that fell within their spending ” rules ” . This was followed by a multimillion dollar inquiry ( if I recall correctly 20 mil + ) to find about 1 million in suspect claims . If challenged those expenses could well have fallen within the loose expense rules. If we are to keep this farce going do you think anyone in government might figure out it might be cheaper to just give each senator a budget and a list of duties to collect it ? And if you blow it you walk to the next meeting.

    Because the federal government is not about the Canadian people, it’s about taking and holding power and revenue, period. In this respect, the CPC and the Liberals are no different.
    All Quebec has to do is whisper “separation” or “referendum” and the feds start worrying about all that tax revenue, how they could hold on to the maritime provinces, etc, and proceed to prostrate themselves and genuflect.
    Quebec has the feckless feds over a barrel, and they know it.
    TROC couldn’t gather the intestinal fortitude to stand up to the feds if their very lives depended on in.
    Quebec has more balls than the rest of the country combined.
    The people here would be better off in Canada fragmented completely, into 4-5 countries, but the resultant wars scares all the politicians, except for the Quebecois.

I sped over to the local lieberal campaign hqts demanding to know if the pm wannabe had any idea of the chilling effect his words had on the LEGAL firearms trade in Canuckistan. IOW, prospective purchases shying away until the question is (sort of) settled, thereby hampering the LEGITIMATE gun shop owners’ business, likewise, plunging if not evaporating the ‘market’ of used handguns of those who think more lieberalism means *their* LEGITIMATELY acquired guns could be seized, soooo, time to unload (pun intended) them only to be met with a pennies-on-the-dollar (supply-demand thing) or even outright disinterest from the beleaguered gun shop owners.
