Imaginary News

You might recall that the Huffington Post made a big deal of refusing to cover Trump on their political pages when he first announced his candidacy. They only carried him on their entertainment pages because they were so smart they knew he could not win.

Then he won.

  1. A couple of examples of more balanced reporting:
    1. Sorry, media — this press conference played very differently with Trump’s supporters:
Trump’s detractors immediately panned the show as madness, but they missed the method behind it and proved they still don’t understand his appeal. Facing his first crisis in the Oval Office, he was unbowed in demonstrating his bare-knuckle intention to fight back.
He did it his way. Certainly no other president, and few politicians at any level in any time, would dare put on a show like that.

    2. If you can’t beat them in the media, beat ’em at the til…

  2. Adams is right on and his reasoning explains a whole lot of what we’ve been seeing.
Of course it doesn’t help that the “imaginers” in this case are the left, with their penchant for wild exaggeration, low tolerance of any form of dissent, hair-trigger escalation of any conflict to violence, and of course the requisite IQ-point shortage that causes them to become leftists in the first place.
    Right, Uno?

  3. Ha, I watched that presser in it’s entirety.
Despite the distorted reality your typical intolerant trolling liberal NEEDS to believe, Trump did NOT rant. As a matter of fact, there is a point where he stops to highlight his “unangry” demeanor and then predicts the lying media will claim he ranted anyways. In all fairness, that was about as difficult to predict as the next sunrise.
Leftards in 2017 are sooooo weak, hateful and predictable. They are nothing more than useful/less idiots too stupid to realize they are simply disposable pawns for the advancement of globalists and elitists.
But then, maybe us conservatives are missing the big picture too. Maybe, just maybe, all we need to do to stop this unhinged ranting and whining of loser Democrats is to give them all their justly deserved participation medals from the election.

  4. “solipsism” Nice Hans. I had to look it up in the dictionary: “As a metaphysical position, solipsism goes further to the conclusion that the world and other minds do not exist.” So good that I laughed out loud.
I learn something new EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

  5. President Trump is “dividing Americans”… thankfully on purpose. Now we need some of that in Canada before the next election.

  6. Exactly! Not the manufactured truth designed by the media to support the left.
Good fro Trump for blasting them. The truth sure seems to upset the fake news purveyors.

  8. Well, sure he’s not “presidential” as long as the definition of presidential is left to the media who have been feeding you your alternative reality. But real reality is all the stuff that, no matter how hard you don’t believe in it, is still there, still happening. E.g. Donald Trump is the President now, so whatever he does is part of what’s really presidential, as was Bill Clinton having sex with Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office, and Barrack Obama pretending terrorism isn’t terrorism when it’s done by Muslim fanatics trying to bring back the Caliphate.

  9. “Have fun handing the keys of the kingdom to the left.”
    Say what?
Did it escape your attention that the left held control of all 3 “keys” to the USA “kingdom” in 2008?
Or are you a real Progressive who cannot remember anything since yesterday?
8 years,so long ago, if you are 14.
PresidentTrump and the mass of productive people who support him,is the result of the “Left” holding power .
We have seen what they are and what they do.
Personal freedom is near nonexistent in the current Kleptocracies that run most of North America.
Personal responsibility a concept no well “educated progressive” can get their mind around, perpetual victims of their own impulses and perversions.
    Yes I bait you Troll.
You are pathetic and weak, please up your game.
Rabid slavering Trolls are so much more fun.

  10. “Have fun handing the keys of the kingdom to the left.”
Today the left is a spent force in the US. Given time, presuming they grow up, they will again be in power. That is a fact. At the moment Trump only seems to keep getting stronger.

  11. The Guests on CNN Don lemon show (Black guest put down of Lemon) are getting the message, if they engage in fake news.. their career is equally fake.
CNN Complain that Trump promised to drain the swamp! Yes and CNN is in that swamp.. faster Trump
CNN He is not acting Presidential says Carl Bernstein acting as an ethical Journalist
The moral dilemma of Moving Sports Events away from NC, but not from ALL of California…
Scott Adams (Dilbert) has a better than reasonably accurate portrayal of corporation Engineering. His “Value Added” play hit home.. That theme was my MO, getting engineers away from cook-book design and up/add to the value of technology. and his resent “The Never call an asshole…an asshole.. He will be your boss someday”

  12. It is a common practice in large Corporations that when Financial details are under discussion, in the conference room, that each attendee’s stack of documentation is unique to them (not copies). If any information is disclosed to anyone inside or outside the Corporation, the Executive VP knows who can’t be trusted…Usually the person never knows why they were fired…. I learned to keep those documents locked up or shredded… Others not so lucky…
The FBI knew that Mark Felt was leaking (Nixon also knew) to Woodward….but they didn’t know the extent of all the documentation that was leaked and not published, but was been provided by the token Jew (Bernstein’s role) to the Democrats. Traps setup by setting traps
I hope Trump & his Administration have a better handle than Nixon’s administration
    JMHO

  13. Joe T saves his “advice ” for the EU elites. No comments allowed on CBC site for either Joe or The Donald.

  14. UNO doesn’t get it, begging own questions, then pathetically attempting an Alinsky, who like the mainstream media, just died in metaphor.
    1. Trump is blowhard therefore must have acted so at his press conference (fake news), that meme offered as “proof” he had a meltdown. Laughable.
My youngest granddaughter could see this fallacy, arguing the contrary as fact, to come to a conclusion contrary to fact (imaginary news).
    2. Trump is getting stronger, despite UNO illusions. (S)he should talk to Dilbert. Obama ended at 53%, Trump now already at 55% approval.
Sure keep riding that delusion that the left will impeach Trump, that he has “woes in Washington,” or that he’s “melting down,” or “we won the popular vote,” despite the electoral college fulfilling its function, with Dems crushed everywhere else. Nobody’s buying the “Imaginary News.”

By all means live your delusion UNO, along with the rest of the leftist fellow travelers. No really I want you to. Anyway take your pick:

  15. “I think we can all agree that there has been plenty of fake news coming from both sides.”~Scott Adams
    I disagree.
I have missed what little Fake News came from the Right side, but if any at all, plenty does not describe it.
If ever there is any remedy to the problem of fake news, ascribing the Right as the source of it when it is not, will be seen as counter productive and not part of the solution.

  16. “‘No Go Zones’ in Paris, Swedish rape epidemic, Ebola scare stories”
So you think those are Fake news, huh? Interesting.
From where did you get the idea that those things were not facts but rather fake?

  17. The non-go zones are Real.
I watched the Car-B-Qs as they happened in Paris on the internet night-after-night in 2006, as did everyone else here at SDA.
You can go back in the archives here and read our discussions of the event.
It was July. The Car-B-Qs occurred every single night for longer than a 2 week period during which Paris Muslims burned up to 2000 cars ever single night.
The coverage of the event at the time included coverage by French reporting that talked about the Banlieues, and explained them as No Go Zones. Daniel Pipes was only a peripheral figure to the total reporting of the event.
What you have read by the Globe and Mail is pure propaganda.(it is the Fake News)
The Swedish Muslim Rape Epidemic is Real and Pre-Dates the Syrian migrant influx to Europe by half a decade.(5 years)
I had already done my own research on the latest Ebola epidemic at the time it was happening and it did pose a real threat to any country that allowed air traffic from the regions where the epidemic was occurring.
Last and not least I have to say that not only were all of the examples that you presented real news, NONE of them could be said to be examples of Fake News originating from Right news sources.
    You suck.
You are a liar and you have not only made a lame attempt to gainsay me, you have wasted my time.

  18. Yes that was the put down…I did not expect Don Lemon to be on air, but he was and trying to build a fake story out of bits of truth from normal practice…. I am beginning to think they don’t understand a dam think about Truth. They see everything as entertainment and entertainment can be boring without injecting hate
They are confused how the leaks can be true, but the coverage not.. The coverage was nothing but pure fantasy land built on untrue conspiracy theories….I think Jeff Zucker got the word..
What is obvious is the UN-American attitude & reasoning of the media. Demonizing is not a normal American value when everyone has the presumption of “innocence until proven guilty” (in a court of Law). The media can’t determine who is a liar unless it has been litigated and the judgement includes that as a statement of “fact”

  19. I am sorry to have to say it but for the good of the country and the GOP, Trump has to be and will be impeached. More and more R’s in the House and Senate are realizing that, But they don’t want to bring down Pense too. That would be really bad. The Russian connection during the campaign will likely do it. Hopefully, Pense was not part of it and did not know. If it keeps going like this, the GOP will by damaged. They are panicking about 2018 (although the Dems are in disarray). Trump is incompetent, and qualified people do not want to join his cabinet. Also, Bannon must go as he is possibly the biggest problem. Remember, Bannon wants to blow up the whole system. If that is what folks on this site really want, maybe I am wasting my time here.

  20. I don’t care about 40 years ago right now. Yes, Carter was not a good president. But to me, the Trump admin is a disaster so far. They had better pull it together pretty damn quick.

  21. Many people do not see it that way. I think it is primarily the relentless hostility to him that is distorting reality. Trump is essentially delivering on his promises. No disasters yet as far as I can see — just hysteria on the left. The people who have joined his team so far look quite capable. I think you are panicking too soon. Also, the Russian thing is garbage. Even the original report on Russians “hacking” the election had no solid information. If you want to impeach Trump you must come up with something concrete that he actually did. Otherwise, people will not accept it.

  22. The other problem with this strategy is that Congress ignored for years, Obama’s connections to Iran and to the Muslim Brotherhood. We do not even know for sure where he was born (ya, ya, Hawaii) and we have very little information on his background. You may not agree, but all of those people who voted for Trump believe that something about Obama is being covered up. (I think so, but probably more his paternity than that he is a foreigner, although there is suspicion that he may have gained entry to US educational institutions as a “foreign” student.) Regardless of whether or not this is true, there is great suspicion out there. If the rug were to be pulled out from under Trump before he has actually done something in office to warrant that, people would be up in arms. So being friendly with the Russians will not cut it. It smacks too much of a trumped up charge in light of the willingness to ignore suspicions about Obama. If the Republicans try this stunt, they will have a very large segment of the population furious with them.
