  2. Re: Red Sprites and Blue Jest.
    Looks like they (strange lights) were the result of a massive lightning storm within cumulonimbus clouds. Those rise up to 65,000 feet (12 miles) above the earth, thus it’s highly unlikely that commercial or military aircraft would have flown near them to observe the strange lights. I recall experiencing bad turbulence in a Boeing 777 between Hawaii and Vancouver. The crew informed us that max. altitude for a 777 was about 45,000 feet, that we had to go around the storm that was over 55,000 ft. in altitude. Twas a wild ride. Just a guess, but I would say that the electrical discharge is similar to Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis.
    Interesting to note that not that many years ago, people thought Northern Lights were caused by the sun’s refection on icebergs.

  6. I saw one of these once. Big T-storm over Red Deer, and I was northbound on the 791 highway. There was a multiple-stroke lightning burst within the storm cloud, and a blue bolt shot straight up from the top of the cloud like a laser beam.
    You could probably get some good imagery of these phenomena from a U-2 spy plane tasked to patrol prolific T-storm areas. Don’t have to fly near the storm; stay well clear and as high or higher than the cloud tops, if possible.

  11. Nearly all of the refugee crimes are committed by men. The solution is obvious: Only admit women and children as refugees; the men can apply for immigration through the normal process to come later. Refugee families are supported by the taxpayer, and unproductive men are redundant and not needed. The men would be evaluated as any immigrant applicant and not allowed in without an employable skill, fluency in one official language and unanimous consent from their wives and children. Imagine if Canada became the safe haven for oppressed Muslim women and children. Muslim men are the problem; don’t let them in unless they can prove they’re worthy of becoming Canadians.

  19. I know. My uncle had a small farm East of Emerson. He was harrowing one day with an open cab ”R” John Deere. It started to rain, so after the shower, he walked across the border to his friend’s place in North Dakota. This was about 1966. The Americans never said a word, but he did get supreme sh*t from the Canada Customs office at Emerson. Why? Because he had entered Canada illegally.
    Many ranchers here in SW Sask. have gotten letters for riding back and forth across the border without reporting to Canada Border Services.
    Of course there are two sets of laws under a Liberal government. One for white Christian farmers and cowboys, and one for Muslims.

  23. Here is SW Sask., I doubt that they will attempt to cross into Canada. Between places such as Val Marie and Mankota, the land is rugged, there are areas that you could walk 50-60 miles and never see a farm or ranch.
    Maybe we need to stop killing Grey Wolves. They do a fantastic job of patrolling an area, and their howling does send fear into the bravest of hearts.

  27. I don’t think they are providing an adequate food supply yet. you might have to shoot the odd wolf to keep them from your backyard. a good idea though.
