The free college loan gambit has already been set up by Democrats.. Obama , Nancy, & Reid bought out all the third party college loans.. The US government is the holder & has already paid for those (Non-performing) loans… Hillary was ready to forgive all those loans, which her taxpayers would not have to fund because they had already been paid for….Trump can follow through with the plan & take the credit, or resell them all back to third parties and use the money elsewhere…

By definition … things that are FREE … have no VALUE. You think a college degree isn’t worth much in the marketplace now ? Just wait till it is “Free” your Marxist politicians are no smarter than the bus driver running Venezuela
The US has this little secret called Community Colleges. Every bigger town has one and a large number of students get their first 2 years of school in them. They are run bare bones with low overhead. The locals can live at home. Many states have a guarantee that if you pass 2 years of Community College you are guaranteed admission to a university, not necessarily of you choice.
…we have that “gift” here in TN for 2 year Community Colleges. Has already cost 56 Million since beginning of 2014. It’s paid by the State Lottery!
No numbers given for its success as of yet, but planning to branch to 4 year Public Universities… estimated cost $ 150 Million a year!
Which every time … I hear libs scream that they are marching in the “women’s march” … so that women and all disadvantaged people will have … “opportunity”. I grab my head and scream that America DRIPS with OPPORTUNITY and FREE STUFF ! Nobody goes hungry, or medically untreated in America because they are POOR. Nobody ! America has the fattest poor people in the history of the world. America’s Junior Colleges are as FREE as you can get. Not utilizing the resources available to you cannot be blamed as lack of “opportunity”
If getting all the right courses you need and graduating on time isn’t enough incentive for getting all the right courses you need and graduating on time, I don’t think Governor Raimondo’s free tuition scheme will be sufficient added incentive for getting all the right courses you need and graduating on time.
And so far, student debt with no good job prospects doesn’t seem to be sufficient deterrent to going to college and investing several years of their lives to become indebted and unemployable.
Maybe the education reforms and/or innovation they need should be sought at lower levels of education?
