[A year ago] the PMO had refused to divulge that the Trudeaus were in St. Kitts, until TMZ tracked them down. I suspected the same thing was happening again: they were enjoying a fairly conventional vacation, by the standards of people with significant means, and for some reason the PMO just didn’t want anyone to know about it. But then a little birdie alighted on my shoulder with some solid intel: the Trudeaus had been guests of the Aga Khan, spiritual leader of the Ismailis, on his lavish private island, Bells Cay.
The PMO initially refused to confirm this to my colleague David Akin, but eventually came clean. “As you are aware, his Highness and the prime minister have been close family friends for many years,” Kate Purchase wrote in a statement Friday. “As is the usual course, the prime minister will be reimbursing the costs of his (and his family’s) flights to and from Nassau.”
Why, I was repeatedly asked, would journalists bother demanding to know where the PM is on vacation? This. This is why. If journalists hadn’t asked, we might never have known something that is — at the very least — unambiguously in the public interest. Since 2004, as Akin reported, federal taxpayers have handed the Aga Khan Foundation $310 million in foreign aid, including the current government’s recent commitment of $55 million over five years for aid work in Afghanistan.

A million bucks here, a million bucks there, soon, you’re talking real money…
“The Aga Khan, one of the world’s richest men, has abandoned a claim to more than $1 million seized at a Canada-U.S. border crossing six years ago.
A lawyer acting for the Aga Khan, Leonard Doust, said he couldn’t disclose why his client decided to withdraw the claim Monday.
“For reasons I can’t go into in a public forum, the decision has been made by the Aga Khan,” Doust told Justice Allan Thackray.
The Aga Khan, spiritual leader of the world’s 25 million Ismaili Muslims, has decided to forfeit the money to the province of British Columbia, he said.
The Aga Khan, 57, lives in Paris and has a personal fortune reported to be in excess of $1.4 billion.”

“In 1991, Sadruddin Kabani was caught red-handed smuggling more than a million dollars in cash along the US-Canadian border. The money was destined for Aga Khan through Tajuddin Kurji of Aga Khan Foundation Canada and was collected from the Ismāʿīlī community in the name of dasond, mehmani, majlis memberships and various other religious contributions.
The matter was escalated by the Canadian border security to the United States police who then went on a trail of more than US$100 million being smuggled for Aga Khan from North America to his Swiss bank accounts in Lloyd’s Bank in Geneva through top-ranked Ismaili community members such as Tajuddin Kurji. … ”

The Libranos, Part 2 … ?
Wow!! Another swamp that needs to be drained!! Now why wasn’t that on CBC news?????
So Juthtin wants to wander the country from one Tim’s to another on his first annual Heartburn Tour. (“Thee? I eat Timbits. I’m jutht like the retht of you.”)
http://www.mccarthy.ca/lawyer_detail.aspx?id=2103
Is this the Leonard Doust acting for the Aga Khan? He’s a legend in B.C,law circles, one of the top rated lawyers in Canada, and undoubtedly one of the most expensive.
I think it’s sickening that Canadians imagine it’s patriotic to pretend to love an American owned restaurant chain.
Tim’s coffee sucks.
It sure is nice of Corrupt Juthtin to take some time off from his busy schedule of vacationing on private islands with billionaires, taking pictures of himself, imposing malicious unnecessary tax hikes on the ungrateful peasants, going on vacation, plowing the economy into the ground, posing for pictures, going on vacation, whoring himself out to commie Chinamen, going on vacation, etc. just so he can “connect” with “ordinary Canadians” who, apparently all live in a Tim Hortons… what a guy… Just what the country needs, a Juthtinpalooza PR campaign, that should ease the sting of those crushing oxygen taxes that Corrupt Juthtin just can’t impose enough of… oh well, at least the Media will be happy gargling Juthtins balls, smelling his farts, laughing at all his jokes while Corrupt Juthtin smirks, sneers, and blathers the same empty vacuous talking points he’s been blathering for the better part of 2 years… ‘and those working hard to join the middle class”… the one party State of Trudopia sure is fun! I think I speak for all of us when I say, thanks Peeair!
All his twitty fans will be swooning over him as he does his timbit trek across the country and we’ll get wall to wall coverage.
Gerald Butts is running out of ideas of how to keep the bimbo out of the way.
Taxpayers paid $ 55million for justin’s ” secret ” new year vacation is how I see it. Reimbursing the plane fare after he was caught is an admission that he did something wrong.
This calls for an investigation, has Kahn made any kickback donations to the trudeau foundation recently? Did justin open any offshore accounts? The pay for play payments are getting a little awkward to explain in Canada but if it’s done offshore it would be easier to conceal.
This could be bigger than a roll up the rim event for Timmy’s. His visit to the private Island is a little odd for a sitting PM even on “personal” time.
What could possibly go wrong?
FYI this time of year the snow belt of SW Ontario has a nasty habit of making the 401 close up at the most inconvient time.
Can’t imagine how well he’d handle being stranded on the 401.
Who does Justin think he is? Michelle Obama?
The Liberanos have learned a lot from their Adscam experience.
Laundering taxpayer money through Canadian companies located in Canada is traceable. Laundering through offshore “humanitarian” foundations is almost impossible to trace.
Once the cash is in the foundation’s possession, they can distribute the funds to any agency or organization they see fit. That money easily works its way back into the Liberal party coffers as well as into the PM’s foundation or personal offshore accounts.
Canadian law enforcement has no jurisdiction outside Canada to thwart this activity, investigate or bring to justice the perpetrators.
The depths of their diabolical mind should never be underestimated.
Vito Corleone has nothing on these people.
So… Trudeau is a Clinton-in-Training… or have I got it backwards?
The modern fiction,
Non Government Organizations, fully funded with taxpayer dollars.
Wonderful tools for the kleptocracy to blatantly bypass the rules for managing taxpayers money.
Funny how the most odious attacks on our civil society are orchestrated by NGO’s all claiming they are here to help.
With no accounting for the money flows and most generous compensation for all the minions.
Beauty is skin deep, corruption is all the way to the bone.
Of course the Liberals embrace these “charities” and “international organizations”, …
Rules? Those are for the little people.
We can expect more tours as his popularity goes down. Iggy did it,went forth to smell the barns, mingle with the common folk, phony is what phony does.
wow, does the word crook come to anyone’s mind?
Canadians are easily duped and Liberals know how to exploit that.
I always considered the Aga Khan and the work of the Aga Khan Foundation to be a net positive in the world. The middle east problems do not stem from the Ismaili. There are better reasons to complain about our dear leader.
I wonder if the main stream media will ever figure out that we have elected a part time drama teacher /snow board instructor / bouncer / international playboy and turned our bank accounts and credit cards over to him. No way , as he and his cronies are the best and smartest ever. Well , at least they are smarter than the media.
Did the billionaires kitchen staff each contribute $1500 so that they could have the pleasure of serving his dinner? We won’t know if he was sunning on the beach or was tucked away privately so he can accept bags of cash from his rich mentors and newfound Asian buddies.
Maybe it was all innocent and Justin and the Khan were having a frank discussion on the different ways of throwing away Canadian tax dollars to buy a seat on the UN Security Council.
Anyway I guess we can discuss it as he mixes with the plebes at a Timmies near you.
Trudeau and donuts have a lot in common, sweet on the outside, nothing on the inside!
The Real Press should call it “The Do-NUT-hing Reality Tour”
Pretty call, he was justin sunshine country to work on his TAN
hey Morris, read mark in Calgary’s post
Media cognitive disonance.
Mulroney and KHS = media convinced there was corruption and Mulroney was getting a kickback.
Juthtin and Aga Khan = media convinced just a meeting between old friends.
Went looking or a little background for my opinion and found a little watched video. It matched what I had previously gathered on the Aga Khan. Maybe something useful for others to watch. There is a lot of good people in this world and I’m always happy when I find a net positive.
Take it for what you may:

…Aga Khan and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced a joint human development initiative…
As for the 25 year old example from marc “one swallow doesn’t make a summer”.
13 more days until Trump can officially slap this little boy around!
Cool beans. How about he does it without my money being sent to him?
“As you are aware, his Highness [the Aga Khan] and the prime minister have been close family friends for many years, …
I presume everyone realizes that the Aga Khan is the leader of a Shia Muslim sect called Isma’ilism.
So when the Aga Khan spends hundreds of millions of my dollars, do the recipients have any clue they came out of my pocket or are they left with the impression its money directly from the Aga Khan? An aside – Ismaili Muslims appear to be the only Muslims who provide poor Muslims with any aid other than fire and brimstone and guns.
This site seems to make the Canada contribution public. How much it gets the recipients I have no idea.

All government funded foreign aid is wrong whether done by the Spawn or Harper. If charity is a virtue than it must be voluntary and since taxation is theft, when the state doles it out, it becomes looter’s spoil. By keeping charity private it also prevents taxpayers funding nations and groups they disagree with.
You haven’t seen anything yet. 55 million is play money to dabble in a kickback scheme.
Wait until the Liberanos start buying BILLIONS of dollars worth of fictitious carbon credits from China on Canadas behalf.
Yes,the Ismaili Muslim community are “those moderate Muslims” Kate always mentions whenever the radical Muslim community acts up. I have posted about them, with links, many times over the years here at SDA, only to be ignored or reviled as it doesn’t fit the perception of Muslims of many here.
I had never heard of Ismaili Muslims until the late 1980’s when I went for physiotherapy, and the physiotherapist was an Ismaili Muslim. Over a series of treatments lasting a few months, he explained the Ismaili culture to me,as I asked, having always been interested in the whole subject of religion and how it motivates people.
I met several Ismailis, and was invited to attend their small mosque if I wished to learn more about them. I was left with only a very positive view of the Ismaili community and their leader, the Aga Khan, who is respected the world over for the good works of his foundation. I have never seen a niqab, hijab,or burkha worn by an Ismaili Muslim woman.
I’m not surprised to see Stephen Harper also is of the same opinion regarding the Aga Khan. Harper is one of the best PM’s we have ever had,and one of the most sensible.
Thank you for posting that video.
That Justin Trudeau met with the Aga Khan is a positive,as he is a much better representative of the Muslim community than the people who run the mosques Trudeau attends in Ontario and Quebec. Maybe the Aga Khan will have a good influence on Our Vacuous PM.
“Trudeau and donuts have a lot in common, sweet on the outside, nothing on the inside!”
BINGO….but at least a donut will help stave off starvation, unlike Turdeau la deux, who just wants to starve us all(the plebes).
good comment. There are Mormons, who I always considered reasonable, just not my cup of tea. And then Harry Reid. So I’v done some digging on the mormon faith lately, and not is all as it seams. Then again, they are still, generally, better then many others. I like to approach with an open, but cautious, mind
And the Koran says that a Muslim is a Muslim is a Muslim. A true believer follows it and the teachings of Mohammed.
Adscam was the original and had evolved into Adscam Ver. 2 or as commonly known Clintons and now Adscam Ver. 3 has hit the market and is known commonly as Pierre and Sons. I would seem that Barnum had it right on both sides of the 49th. “There’s a sucker born every minute.”
