  5. OT: Not a reader tip but a reader question.
    Conservatives, libertarians and us “let it burn” folk hate the media. Hate, hate, HATE the media. Know it’s biased, know it’s rigged, know it’s raging leftists with bylines. Kate hates it, Lance hates it, we all do. I’m certain it’s one of few things we can all agree on.
    So why, when it comes out anti-Trump like it did with GHBTP this weekend, everybody heads to the fainting couches, screams that “This cannot stand anymore!”, and rails against the Republican nominee/senator/congressman/governor? You know the media hates you, everything you stand for, everything you believe but you fall for the bait Every. Freaking. Time.
    You want to know how much GHBTP hurt Trump? They almost closed down 5th Avenue from the number of people congregated there.

    Agree with everything you say about the media and their blind lockstep march to a totalitarian world and the right’s obeisance to them – every time.
    Little solace in that the media typically are the first against the wall since their childlike belief in utopia is always disappointed by the powerful– leastways in those cases where the powerful tire of them and decide to use the wall.

    Now why might it be that men regard women as sex objects? Surely the ravenous purchase by females of stiletto heels, push-up bras, butt-hugging mini-skirts, plunging necklines, false eyelashes, hair extensions, breast implants, butt implants, lip implants, and mascara, rouge, and lipstick to the tune of billions a year has nothing to do with it. Females would never ever exploit their sexuality to seek attention from men.

  10. I’m listening to another segment of last night’s “John Batchelor Show” and the subject is the notorious Trump tape.
    Both Batchelor and his guest were shocked at what was said because they said that neither they nor people they closely associate with talk like that.
    That could very well be, but this leads me to believe that media live sheltered lives. I heard even rougher language when I worked in the oil industry. I once knew a serving soldier who needed more than soap to wash out his mouth, if you get my meaning. While I was teaching at a certain technical college, I regularly went to the gym and expressions like those on that tape were not unusual in the locker room.
    Language like that is a fact of life.
