Called it.

It only took a day for the Liberals to institute a separate immigration system for themselves.

Immigration Minister John McCallum says he is open to granting a moratorium on the revocation of citizenship from Canadians who misrepresented themselves in their applications, an issue that has been thrust into the spotlight by the circumstances of cabinet minister Maryam Monsef’s citizenship.
Mr. McCallum’s comments come a week after the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association and the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers filed a legal action with the Federal Court asking the government to put a stop to all revocations until it could fix a law that allows citizenship to be stripped without a hearing.
“I will consider that moratorium. I won’t rule it out unconditionally,” Mr. McCallum told Senate Question Period on Tuesday. “What I am saying is that we would welcome a reform to the system.”

The Clinton is strong with this one, complete with the “if anyone else does it we will prosecute fully”.

  1. McCallum can can the crapola. This is all too timely, it’s all about Monsef who needs to step down from sitting as a Minister of the Crown in charge of changing how we vote in this Country. It’s serious business to have someone whose family may have come here under false pretenses sitting in our House of Parliament. The Liberals need to respect the laws or they are not fit to govern. I find Monsef’s story hard to believe, it’s far fetched at best.

  2. She probably didn’t realize that the citizenship documents she had laminated and in her Hope Chest and personal diary had been falsified.

There is a great big tax and spend elitist club out there,
    and You ain’t in it.

  3. The long term game here is the Marxist dream of completely open borders and no national boundaries, with everyone singing the leftist hymn Internationale.

  4. Shiny Small Potato should get McC & Mon to swap cabinet slots.
Put their real world experience to work.

  5. Monsef’s sole Cabinet qualification apart from gender, appears to be her poster girl exhibit as the first Afghan-Canadian. Her whole political career benefited from this self promotion. If it is patently false, as seems to be the case she should do the decent thing and resign. And when was the last time decent and Liberal appeared in the same sentence?
Jr has been too clever by half with this appointment, so he looks to executive means to sweep the damage away.
Ambrose and CPC should be merciless in demanding she step down, exactly what would (did) happen were the roles reversed.
One slight silver lining in all of this is that Monsef
has totally destroyed any credibility she had to lead the attack on outmoded, 150 year old Canadian voting rules. Any meetings, debates on the subject should be dominated by her false claims to citizenship.

  6. IMHO, this is the first REAL test to determine if the opposition isn’t just a bunch of f*cking liberals too.

  7. Sadly, I don’t think that Maryam Monsef gave two toots about whether her application for citizenship was correct or not.
She still doesn’t seem to care. On top of that, she’s essentially blaming someone else, her mother of all people.
Even worse, I don’t think that Justin Trudeau cares whether Ms. Monsef was creative on her application for citizenship. Apparently, she has ovaries and that’s all that matters to him for promoting her to high office.

  8. Monsef seems to be singularly unqualified to handle the file on changing our elections. She is young and inexperienced. She was obviously chosen over more qualified people because of her “poster girl” appeal — which has now gone off the rails with the misrepresentation of where she was born. So why are they leaving her in charge of this file? Well, the other qualification she has is that because she is young and inexperienced, she will not push back. I believe she is just a figure head for whoever is deciding how we will vote. Her job is to run the phony community consultations. It would be nice to know what the UN has decided re our transition from first past the post. It would also be nice to know who exactly is calling the shots on this one — for sure not Justin and his gang of incompetents.

  10. She was unqualified from the get go. However, after losing 1 cabinet minister, Jr will be loathe to have to fire another. Especially if there are demands from everyone to do just that. Better from his perspective to change the whole rule applying to false citizenship claims. Sort of like how he plans to change the rules on how we vote.
Conservatives absolutely should keep up the pressure on this woman to resign, she never should have been in cabinet to begin with.

  11. Very well put time for the Conservatives to stand up and be counted, ask the leadership candidates for an opinion.
Either that or they are just Liberal-Lite.

  12. Liberals not to deport those falsifying their Canadian citizen applications?
All the lawyers for global jihad are taking note.

  13. Why am I thinking Just in Trudeau unlocks the Liquor Cabinet when Royal Bank former Vice President of Schmoozing Clients is called to The Prime Minister’s Office?
I do not think such Pronouncements for the Immigration Minister is possible over the Phone and as long as there will not be an Air Line Trip as part of following BWWB-king directions, my guess about the Liquor Cabinet will remain on the mark.

  14. I agree she is not the right person to be handling this file or any other, she is just too inexperienced right out of the gate. We need to at least know her true country of birth and her family history. Does she have relatives in Iran or Afghanistan and does she and her family hold dual citizenship? How can this family be legitimate Canadian citizens? Her mother had to know where her children were born and which country they hold passports from. How can we be expected to believe their story about the father? So many questions for our Opposition to be asking but they are silent.

  15. The leftist ghouls won’t be satisfied until we are all singing “one world government” hymns … in Esperanto.

  16. Terry Glavin in Maclean’s magazine claims that Maryam Monsef’s mother made a “brave choice” in, purportedly, informing Maryam that she was born in Afghanistan.
Glavin’s narrative is breathtaking, worthy of a 1st-year university Creative Writing class.
“… it would appear that a brave young Afghan widow, Soriya Basir, chose to spare her children the gruesome details of her dizzying back-and-forth border crossings and escapes from Taliban savagery and Khomeinist tyranny and war before she finally arrived with them in Canada, as refugees.”
That therefore fully justifies Maryam Monsef’s providing false information on her Canadian citizenship application.
Glavin concludes the article with the following:
“Unless something more salacious comes up, that is the beginning and the end of it.”

  17. There we have it, Glavin has done all the necessary work to clear the air on the Monsef family. I wonder if he also traveled to the ME or had access to documents? I don’t know what Canada would do without Maclean’s and all their contributors of facts we peons are not able to be privy to. What politician would even consider taking this issue up when it’s all been made clear by Mr Glavin?

  18. B Brown: Unfortunately I have heard nothing from CPC leadership regarding Monsef’s tribulations, nor do I expect to. Seems they want to avoid at any cost the illusion of picking on a woman refugee. Jr and his cronies can rest easy that executive maneuvering will get him off the hook, for appointing her in the first place.
With the very leisurely pace of the Leadership campaign, who is holding Liberal feet to the fire? Monsef represents the face at least of a determined effort to revamp our very democratic voting rules. If successful it could be the end of conservative government ever. I would expect more opposition from the official opposition.
For balanced criticism of Monsef see this link:

  19. Well, that’s gratifying.
I well remember a time when some SDA stalwarts praised Glavin.
I didn’t. I thought he was an idiot.
Recall his naive excitement over Canada’s virtue-signalling school construction is A’stan.
    An unalloyed farce.

  20. If the law is indeed changed (any bets that it won’t be?), I can see two possible scenarios.
One is that any war criminals who fibbed about their backgrounds and any previous incidents will be allowed back into the country after being stripped of citizenship and deported. Of course, that law would be changed to accommodate only members of a certain “peaceful” religious persuasion.
The other is that immigrants disembark from their boats or planes and see a sign that says something like: “Welcome to Canada. Anyone wishing to be a citizen is one now.”
It is possible, of course, that the matter concerning the Minister of Gerrymandering was deliberately allowed to happen. Subsequently changing the law and diluting the requirements and processes for citizenship could be part of the post-nationalism espoused by Spud and Butts.

  21. The law was changed in the first place because of people like Helmut Oberlander and Rachidi Ekanza Ezokola. Helmut is in his 20th year of avoiding having his citizenship stripped and being deported.

  22. I don’t think the issue is Monsef’s intentions. It is that the law has been broken, and the government must act — at least by removing her from Cabinet, until the status of her citizenship is cleared up. Since when is “didn’t mean to do it” the central consideration when a law has been broken? I am concerned about the message it sends to others who might be contemplating being less than honest on their citizenship application. Out of respect for the law, Monsef must step aside. Otherwise it simply makes a travesty of our laws.

  23. “Apparently, she has ovaries and that’s all that matters to him for promoting her to high office.”
You’re wrong, her ethnic and religious qualifications matter too!

  24. Exactly true. A multicultural pretty face with tits are all the qualifications she needed in the Pomme-de-Terre cabinet of useful-idiot figurehead-puppets. Being 30s-unmarried was a bonus.
Much ado about nothing: Monsef was born in a hospital in Mashhad, Iran to Afghan parents who had fled during the Soviet–Afghan War, and lived with her family there in childhood, together with periods in Herat, Afghanistan in 1987–1988 and 1993–1996.[5] Because Iran and Afghanistan (before 2000)[6] followed the principle of jus sanguinis in their respective nationality laws, Monsef was born an Afghan citizen.[7]

  25. Well you have to admit she is the perfect face for proportional Voting.
Instead of one citizen one vote, we will have ; Anyone can vote and then “The Government” will tell you who you just voted for.
This is the best part of the PR fraud.
Stalin was right;Who counts is who counts the votes.
    Libtard governments for ever.
Unless Elections Canada is cleansed of partisan hacks and useful idiots.
