Do you know why they just do reboots and remakes now-a-days?
Because doing anything creative will offend someone.

I’m offended by the remakes, but I’m not someone the politically correct worry about offending.
Over the many years that I have watched television (since the 50s) I’ve often seen that the folks who make North American TV programs don’t have a lot of original ideas. Most of the junk made here isn’t worth watching.
Would love to see movies like those they used to make of inspiring lives. The only ones I have seen lately have been about black athletes. How about a biography of Maria Montessori the first woman doctor in Italy and the creator of a unique educational system that is in preschools around the world?
much of the programing is oriented towards the LIV’s
Dumbing down the population with shows like Canada’s worst driver, and Big brother Canada….what nonsense these shows are’!!!!!!
Be thankful it’s not being remade as a puppet show like this.*
*Warning: A minute and a half of your life you’ll never get back.
When intelligence and creativity are outlawed, stupid people think they will rule the world.
Really, it will only be the wasteland of their minds that remains.
Free and democratic nations require freedom to neutralize totalitarian tendencies.
The tree of liberty is fertilized by the blood of patriots when a corruption beyond reform is reached.
The threat of economic collapse is the corollary we flirt with at our peril.

Corollary Larry sounds reminiscent of ET. Whatever happened to her?
Having spent a career in TV from the beginning (we played Movies 24/7) It was obvious that they could have ALL been made on the same day. The Little tramp was just multiple costume changes all shot at the same time… Que the train, save the girl ETC in every silent movie…
I think that Humans have a limited range of empathy (emotion). They have a set of predictable reactions. The Movies of Hitchcock were the first to break away from the Sausage making
My choice of Movies fit into the Weird & Weirder category..
I just hope they never bring back “The Gong Show” using competing Mothers that with a wrong answer… Hang their SON…
Trump is remaking Dallas, & who shot JR… can’t top that phenomenm
I stopped watching TV shows about half way through the Dallas yawner. Would nice to watch Trump do the remake. Might my restore my faith in humanity.
I remember reading a long time ago that Peter Jackson of the LOTR fame was doing a remake of The Dam Busters. I’ve been waiting to see that for a long time but as far as I know it hasn’t come out yet.
Luke Cage on Netflix — worth watching. Netflix is one of the few content producers still taking risks.
There’s still original programming being done, albeit not much.
Most of the biting satire is found in places like South Park.
After all, who can forget ManBearPig?
always wondered were such a stupid term birthed
Well I hope Trump doesn’t cast JR as a Wimp, We have seen Mitt the twit & he lasted 15 minutes. JR could call women sluts & they all loved him.
I see a drum of Gold disappeared in NYC, street thief grab & run.. The Security folks better understand that that is a REAL problem.. A NY minute is dangerous if you don’t understand the streets of NYC
The remake of ‘True Grit’ was a very good movie, if not superior to the original, and faithful to the book.
If anyone hasn’t seen it, do see it, you will like it.
That said, remakes can be better if they follow the original book or screenplay more faithfully, and directed by better directors and acted by better actors.
Many do not. They are just inferior remakes of the original movie.
Well said Larry.
No, it’s because they already own the rights to the properties, and the titles/characters have built up “brand” value. People are offended by something in EVERY one of these reboots and remakes. That’s not the reason.
Writing is a long lost art.
Do you know why they just do reboots and remakes now-a-days?
Because doing anything creative will require talent and they have none.
