I won’t demonize legislation sight unseen, but I also won’t be surprised if whatever the Liberals propose is punitive, restrictive and ill-advised.

As if there weren’t more important things that need doing! What a bunch of morons, trying to make believe that they are are actually accomplishing something instead of pi$$ing up a rope.
Simple. If it comes out of liberal mouth,it’s a lie, designed to screw you.
I listened today to a dreary woman from the Canadian Cancer Society going on during a softball interview with the local CBC radio station about the various strategies they were pushing on the federal and provincial governments, including punitive treatment of e-cigarettes. Their major efforts, however, were aimed at standardized plain packaging for cigarettes. She couldn’t imagine that anyone except “Big Tobacco” could object to this.
I began to wonder the reaction were one to propose similar restrictions on condoms, which, in 1960, could not be advertised on television or in most magazines, while cigarettes were advertised everywhere. At least we might be spared the appalling and depressing Trojan ads.
They’ll be introducing new taxes on them in no time.
Smokers. Vapists. I don’t care. Get your stink and your addictions out of my face. And nobody cares about your lame excuses for vaping as being a (note whiny tone here) “cure for smoking”. Its BS. Quote all the lame studies you want. I do not believe any of them. All funded by interest groups. How about you grow a spine and a set of balls and just quit. Like a real man or woman would.
Grow a spine
Obviously you were lucky enough to not get addicted.
Presently batttling lung cancer. Grew as a teenager when they said 3006 ” got them smokem!
They want to “regulate” vaping and legalize marijuana.
Sounds like another transgender issue.
Pretty sure my balls are even bigger than yours…
hard on the chin much
well said:-)))
Thanks NME.
Vapists are hypocrites. They bawl about how they do not want the government interfering in their lives and how they want independence and freedom. And what do they do, they make themselves a slave to nicotine. Where is the freedom in that? Or look at Nic here. His “freedom” will cost him/her his life. Even uses a “nicotine” pseudonym as part of his self concept. Completely enslaved.
Their wallet becomes a slave to their habit and yet they whine and cry about having to pay taxes and about the government interfering.
Listen. I hate governments more than most. And I love freedom more than most. Want to be free? Lessen your dependence on governments, people and things that rob you of your health, your wealth and your life.
And FFS stop your whining about your addiction. NOBODY CARES.
Look, they know better than you what’s good for you; and they have to charge you for that. Don’t you pay for expertise in the private sector?
Otherwise they’d have to crush the poorest most, pilfer the rich or raise debt to obscene levels. Well actually, and those as well.
This is only the first year. I’m sure things will improve from here. I understand the war of narratives is going rather well.
“Get your stink and your addictions out of my face.”
Sure, right after you get your stoopid out of mine.
“How about you grow a spine and a set of balls and just quit. ”
How about you go and fornicate yourself with a 2×4 wrapped in razer wire and dipped in Tobasco?
Vaping not only helps people quit, it is also fun. And you don’t get to regulate my fun.
“Health Canada says the move will balance the need to protect young people from nicotine addiction while allowing adult smokers to legally buy vaping products”
Young people will only be allowed to purchase cannabis e-cigs.
Recently I got hired as a handyman by a company that has several buildings. I’ll tell you, the stench from the 420 smokers in their apartments just permeates the hallways and in the case of adjoining rooms because of the exhaust fan vent system. Smokers and vapers are a danger to society? Give me a friggin break.
“we are lacking adequate evidence to completely understand the risks and benefits of e-cigarettes,”
Absolute rubbish. Anyone possessing brain power equal to or greater than the average houseplant can readily identify the benefits of e-cigarettes. They are healthier than smoking tobacco. They do not emit that well-known odour that sends anti-smoking fanatics into fits of apoplexy. And they are cheaper than cigarettes …. much cheaper. For those that are not fortunate enough to be equipped with the big balls and spine of “idiots”, e-cigarettes are a godsend.
As for the risks …. well if you’re going to ban or regulate something based on risk it might be a good idea to have some evidence. Studies have proven that big pharma’s smoking cessation products such as Champix can cause testicular cancer in lab rats. OK. I made that up but studies have failed to prove that smoking cessation drugs do not cause testicular cancer in lab rats therefore these products should be banned or regulated to death.
The bottom line is that the e-cigarette business is facing a very tough uphill battle against the likes of big tobacco, big pharma, the anti-smoking industry and last, but not least, cowardly politicians.
e-tobacco = bad
e-marijuana = good
If you believe this (and they do, they really, really do as we have seen above) then you might be a Liberal.
They’re going to ban smoking and make pot legal. Just you wait. It is coming.
All the covert SJW and ban-addicts are all the same. Creeps is a good name for them.
Idiots. I like it simply because it suits you. When you know nothing about a subject it’s better to keep your mouth shut.

we have too much government and I doubt more government would have prevented you from getting cancer. I wish you the best.
I’ll say it again for anyone new:
April 2015, my lifelong (heavy) smoker husband asked for a vaping kit for his birthday.
It is now almost Oct 2016 and he has not had one cigarette. The amount of nicotine he vapes is VERY low, and sometimes he goes down to zero. It’s a miracle.
There is so much wrong with your thinking that it is even hard to pick a place to start. You do NOT believe in less government and more freedom you just believe in what you FEEL should have less government and more freedom and f the rest of the people that don’t feel exactly the way you do on every little thing. You have proven that feelings guide you and not a wee little thing called principles. How sad for you.
Freedom and exercising that very freedom does indeedy cost some people thier lives. People who get on a plane and it drops out of the sky are exercising thier freedoms when they die. Motorcyclists that get hit by cars are exercising thier freedom when they die. People who eat too many donuts are exercising thier freedoms while killing themselves. Its about choices you make in your life. I know it may be hard for some bunnies to understand, but once upon some smokers lifetime it was “scientifically proven” ( thank you scientist that whored for Big tobacco funding. )that smoking caused absolutely no harm… Some of those people are still alive. But that is not the point.
Government intervention means lack of freedom, something apparently you only care about when you “feel” like it.Wow you must be so proud of your self .. it is not a principle that you live by. YOu are now dismissed.

What a a bunch of moronic buffoons. If you are a slave to nicotine then you are not free. Government has nothing to do with it. But if you want to pay more gst on your stupid e-sh!t and your tobacco taxes go right ahead genius. You have no idea what it is to be free.
Tobacco is a dirty weed.
I like it.
It satisfies no normal need.
I like it.
It makes you thin, it makes you lean,
It takes the hair right off your bean.
It’s the worst darn stuff I’ve ever seen.
I like it.

“Electronic Nicotine Saves Lives”
Just say no saves more.
Wish we could just say ‘no’ to publicly funded ‘illegal’ drug shooting up sites.
Nobody makes it out of this life without volunteering to be enslaved by something or someone. If you don’t know that truth yet, you have not been paying attention to life.
Indeed, Grey Lady, Bob Dylan famously sang, “You gotta serve somebody”. And he was right. I, for example, serve Dunlop tennis balls.
