Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

He, what a coincidence that HMS Terror sunk in Terror Bay 🙂
Great stuff. I love diving wrecks and it is in only 70 foot of water.
From the Guardian (which really needs your support at $49/yr)…
“The 21st-century search for Franklin’s expedition was launched by Canadian former prime minister Stephen Harper as part of a broader plan to assert Canadian sovereignty in the Arctic and promote development of its resources – including vast reserves of oil and natural gas, which will be easier to exploit as the Arctic warms and sea ice disappears.”
How times have changed.

The article in the Guardian was very moving.
Made me think of this-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVY8LoM47xI
Nice to see PMSH being credited for the 21st century search.
The last issue of Canada’s History has an excellent article on how a high school teacher from Ontario found the site where there are a number of bones, skulls, and bits and pieces of buttons, shoe soles, etc. Many of the bones showed evidence of knife cuts indicating cannibalism. The site was apparently the furthest south that the last of the crew reached. The Inuit had talked about this for some time, but their stories had been discounted. Government archaeologists had gone back with the teacher to the findings.
I was thinking that Terror Bay might be the place to start the search. I did a bit of searching around the internet to see if I could find any history of Terror Bay to see how/when it got its name, but with no luck.

Can’t tell if you’re joking. Are you aware that this is one of most right-wing sites in Canada? Are you also aware that the Guardian is one of the most left-wing papers on earth? They are effectively communist — the antithesis of everything this blog stands for.
So why then would anyone who reads this blog want to support their sworn enemy with $50?
