  3. I was wondering the same thing… did the lispy actor and George Soros employee take off his shirt? The Media has declared the lispy uhmms and ahhs of the half baked Potatohead as “very successful”… George Soros must be very happy with his new pet. Someone should remind the imbecilic Potatohead that Parliament is open, time to stop embarrassing himself abroad and bring his lispy act back to the pathetic country that voted for the idiot.

    The UN is the world’s gateway to hell. Trump needs to get it out of NY, burn the building to the ground and pour 1000 truck loads of salt over it…It’s the only way to make sure.

  20. Give CBC a little credit. Neither Global or CTV made mention of the “empty seats for the empty suit”. Their reports were the same ol oohing and ahhing. The CTV Calgary anchor actually made note that Trudeau took a shot at Trump without mentioning his name. Well done Tara. A story on Canada’s PM’s speech to the UN and you managed to get in a snark on Trump. That’ll earn you all kinds of kudos from your peers.

  23. I exhausted my patience today by listening to the baked Potato and his Media comrades play “question and answer”, what a farce. The questions were soft boiled at best and most likely pre-scripted by Potato’s handlers and the Media dopes. PM Pootato went right into his rehearsed scripted answers first in duh ummm duh ahhhh English and then the exact same answer with the exact same words and phrases but this time in french. When the dope finally got a question that wasn’t pre-scripted and co-ordinated with his Media fanclub he quickly dismissed the questioner and the question and desperately left the podium. What an actor.

  25. I think Trudeau’s act as the ‘cool PM’ is wearing thin with whoever is an adult out there. Sure, they still want selfies but nobody except for the ‘progressive’ sycophants takes JT seriously. They must know by now he’s little more than a sock puppet.
    When meaningful business needs to be addressed, they’d tell this: ‘Justin, take your shovel and bucket and go play outside while the grown-ups are talking!’

  31. Since Trudeau is the UN’s poster boy, they may have ordered a few of their employees to attend the talk. No one cares what he says, but the optics need to flattering. They were not totally successful with that the time.

    Trump likes to do “Great Deals” and Zoolander is a sucker who loves to be flattered.
    He will hand Trump Canada on a platter just for the flatter and Trump will make Zoolander think he is getting the deal of a lifetime.
    One thing I’ll say about Trump, the man has real charisma.
    If Trump can woo the Mexican President, Zoolander will be putty.

Apparently, people not showing up to listen to Harper at the UN was irrefutable proof that he had done great damage to Canada’s international reputation. For the record, not many showed up to hear Mr. Dithers speech at the UN either.

  37. I don’t think Trump will be looking to charm Trudeau. He’s a spiteful person that holds grudges. Remember Trudeau during the election last year, displaying his brilliant statesmanship, shooting his mouth off about Trump? I suspect Trump knows very little about Canada and cares about us even less, but once they meet face to face, Trump will recognize the empty vessel he’s talking to. Building a personal relationship with a vacuous figurehead would be pointless.
    I’m guessing, once he gets around to acknowledging Canada, he’ll use us like the Mexicans. Exaggeratedly shit all over us, take extreme positions on trade, NATO, the border, whatever. Then, at his convenience, soften his stance, cut some deals and make himself look like the Great Compromiser. The biggest danger for us is if the Lieberals don’t play along. The internationalists are more than willing to sacrifice Canadian interests to undermine the Great Satan. If they won’t cut deals, Trump might decide to use us as an example to the rest of the world of how he deals with ankle biters

  38. Our Dear Leader is simply playing to the home crowd so whether the UN Ambassador for Burkina Faso was there for the speech or not is entirely moot. It’s a photo op so it doesn’t matter if there were any bums in seats at all; the only thing necessary is to capture plenty of images of The Coiffured One expounding at the podium.
    We tend to have very delusional and overweening ideas about our importance on the global stage, no more so than in our abiding obsession with the UN. But in fact, we have really have very little to contribute other than lofty, patronizing rhetoric and a smug sense of our own wonderfulness.

    Exactly. A succession of Liberal leaders believe if we kowtow enough to The UN, another Nobel prize might be in the cards. But it is not 1956, it is 60 years on as Jr is fond of pointing out and the world is a vastly different place, than in Pearson’s time.
    A correct approach to the UN for Canada would be to staff our delegation with a mid level External Affairs official (not Global whatever) with a modest staff for voting purposes. We should maintain a presence but at a greatly reduced cost. The present body is a dysfunctional, corrupt, useless, and ineffective organization incapable of even managing “peace keeping” operations anywhere.
    It is embarrassing to be involved with such an organization and Canada should have as low a profile as possible.

Shitting all over us would involve complaining about subsidies or Crown Land or something, lack of NATO commitment, immigration policies, whatever he thinks would give him a perceived negotiating strength. Exaggerating and outright lying are not beneath him.
    The Lieberals don’t care about pipelines. They can’t be bothered building them in Canada. They will not expend much effort or political capital on them. Instead of making deals, they’re just going to whine about how mean Trump is and how he’s doing everything wrong. And that’s just Canada/US relations. Trudeau Jr’s internationalist puppetmasters are going to try to outdo Sr’s efforts on distancing us from them on the global stage too
