    Many in the main-stream media consider Donald Trump to be dumb but they could not be more wrong. He won the Republican nomination after competing with 16 other candidates, most of whom were seasoned, experienced politicians such as sitting governors and senators.

I actually wrote them myself.” (In case you’re not familiar with this one, not many people, including his friends, believe Obama’s claim)

  8. Everyday when I get up and when Donald Trump gets up and when the vast amount of working people rise, they think of what they will build that day. Every day a media jackass gets up they think of how they will tear someone on the right/conservative/republican side, down. What a sad life it must be being a media bum when the only thing you can do is disparage a couple of lines from a speech given by a beautiful lady who speaks 5 languages. Meanwhile you go out and champion the lying evil dreadful Hagatha Clintstie day after day as a good choice for President. God, what kind of mothers and fathers did these stupid urnalists have, to turn out so awful. Their marching orders come directly from somewhere on high since every station in the Calgary area spent valuable airtime sniping all day yesterday about this issue. Radio DJ idiots who can’t vote for a president of the US, speaking to listeners who mostly can’t vote, sniping smugly away all day about how stupid Melania Trump must be to plagarize the great Mrs BO.   9. I’m going with the explanation that she did it herself. She’s smart – she speaks five languages – and as the Chicago Boyz note, throwing the RickRoll in there is a big signifier that somebody wanted to get “caught.”
    Getting “caught” dominates the news cycle – and watching the media focus on the details of a speech by a potential First Lady will only intensify the disgust that most people feel about them. Playing them like a violin, indeed.

  10. This reminds me a bit of the nonsense Jewish star kerfuffle of about a week ago. Most looking at the picture would never see the anti-semitic association,and when it was suggested that it could be, the image was immediately withdrawn. Nevertheless,huge coverage of this non-issue, including a CBC interview. Has anyone seen any, ANY negative press on Hillary? I have seen nothing in the Canadian media. The press is really quite pathetic.

  14. Hillary has spent millions upon millions on adverts and stands 46-46. Trump has hardly spent anything (relative), raised much less and stands 46-46. Keep in mind Hillary never gets poll rises.

    If the speech was completely original, would it get more or less coverage than now? You would have the lying media complaining about some superficial aspect of being a beautiful woman married to a very rich man, and there would be very little to counteract that except to say, “you’re being petty.” When has that ever bothered the MSM?
    Now she’s cast in a totally different light. We’re talking about a speech that’s supposed to be forgettable. People are talking about the myriad of plagiarized speeches from Obama and Biden. Meliana is cast as victim at least by a segment of commentators.
    And then we find Rick Astley. This Is clearly a signal that nothing is as it seems. It is a tell. Its also so obvious, given the effect the “plagiarism” was supposed to (and did) create, that only a great fool would expect it not to be seen. A cunning saboteur, who presumably writes for other speakers, would have slipped the Rick into a different speech.
    No, the Rick is in there precisely to amplify desired effect for a certain group, everyone who thinks “They™” are out to get The Donald.
    Besides, this isn’t a classroom so what the big deal if the speech isn’t original? Is there really something there you could launch a copyright suit with? IANAL so that’s a real question

  20. The NYT demonized her for NOT using the scrubbed text of the Speech writers Guild…It was a speech writers that wrote all of the Obama “Teflon” speeches.

  21. If you use language a lot, familiar phrases are stored in you brain. There are only so many ways to express a simple idea. My theory is that the “plagarized” phrases were just a regurgitation stored in some speechwriter’s subconscious. The contexts are identical, so it would almost be surprising if there were not familiar phrases used. But it is also something so trivial it is not worth spending time on. Just compare: Melania’s awkward repetition with Benghazi deaths or Clinton Foundation influence peddling. Liberals have got nothing and they had better figure out what they will do when Clinton criminal behaviour is highlighted in the election. Clinton’s are toast.

Chappaquiddick is an example of the same phenomena, and there are others probably, but the evidence is clear enough. The bureaucrats serve the Clintons/Democratic party. Lois Lerner; nuff said. Every reporter world wide for the last 100 years, serves the Clintons/Democratic party. Anyone who believes anything can be saved or salvaged or turned around, is deluded.

  27. Is it even plagiarism to use the same cliches as someone else? What Michelle said was simply hackneyed boilerplate that has been used for decades so I don’t quite understand how anyone copying her could be accused of plagiarism.
