21 Replies to “Britain is part of Europe – and always will be”

  1. I don’t think the British have ever considered themselves European. I don’t think that is going to change anytime soon.

  2. Scotland and Ireland don’t want to leave the EU.
They have a trillion and half dollars in debt, and Germany will be calling for their margins.
And what about those 3 million ‘recall the vote signatures’ ?
So far they have found 77,000 fakes.
(Located 800 miles south east of the Falklands, and with a permanent population of zero -0-, the South Atlantic British Overseas Territory of South Georgia and the Sandwich Islands were responsible for more than 3,000 signatures.)
    Must be a Democrat..

  3. Imagine if PM Boris meets President Trump! We would have to wear protective gear to shield us from the big hair!
Actually, I do not equate the two. Boris is a consumate politician, Trump isn’t. A more equal match-up would be Farage-Trump. But Farage is still considered too beyond the Pale for the conservative esstablishment. Shades of trump?

  4. Oh F!!ing dear …
OK so for those who understandably have not been exactly been following this debacle for the last 35 years.
Johnson, late of the Spectator (he was the editor and here you’ll probably have to, and I will likewise, defer to Mark Steyn on these matters as he obviously knew him much better than I ever could) well lets say that “Boris the clown” was never really considered, in much of the UK, to be a particular ardent Euro-sceptic, actually he was generally known as a bit of a fool as well as pretty much a Europhile. Well old Boris had a few issues, all a bit boyish and well maybe questionable … but lets just skip those. Eventually the amiable buffoon took to politics, helped in no short measure by his old mate from Eton the “boy dave” and eventually he was served up the position of Mayor of London (bear in mind he was standing against the communist Ken Livingstone).
Now there is some debate, BUT lets put it like this, in the bigger scheme of things IF the boy dave who so desperately wanted to obey his cronies in the EU and the corporate world had wanted to swing any promised referendum, what better than to have a Trojan Horse in the campaign? And who better than his old mate the Buffoon Boris, who whilst he is many many things, love him or loath him, the one thing Boris is not and never has been is a Euro-sceptic. A personality, a media person, yes all of that, but his lack of understanding of the EU is beyond doubt monumental. He has a gravitas on level with most of the intelligentsia that not only borders on but is non-existent.
That his or I guess more correctly what turned into the official Leave campaign even got the “official” designation and hence any “public” money was a travesty of monumental proportion, don’t forget that the other two groups competing for the “official” money pot consisted of those very people who had and have been very publicly associated with the Euro-sceptic groupings for not only years but since the selling out of the UK under the PM Major back in the 70s but hey here was a cabal of Tory insiders that somehow (imagine that) got the nod from the electoral commission (nod nod wink wink).
The down right lies and falsehoods put forth and spouted not only Boris the buffoon but also his cohorts Gove et al, beggared believe it was almost like they wanted to lose the referendum ……. imagine that.
Well if there was any doubt about their position on the eve of the referendum, Johnson, Gove and a myriad of other CINO members of parliament went public and issued a letter of support to Dave the Boy pledging allegiance and stating that despite everything he (dave) was the man to unite the country and lead us forward!
    Uphs …….
ELITES eh entitlement, there was no way that the “official” leave campaign was designed nor envisaged a vote to leave. Simple as that. It was never dreamed of and the entire campaign was designed to fail.
Johnson et al was as shocked as everyone else. The public, the minions are not suppose to work like this.
The frightened and shocked eyes that are now in front of the world stage are just that, shocked and frightened.
Johnson is no more a man of the people than the Boy Dave. England and the English suckered and suckered again.
Mark my words, England doesn’t have a leader, it is as corrupt and stinking as it never has been. The only thing that will save it is the start of the implosion of the EU agenda.
I’ve said it before on Kates blog over many years, if you want to know about whats happening or happened then go read Dr R North and C. Bookers book on “The Great Deception” it is a must read, right now the only and I mean the only way out is the plan formulated over years by the group lead by R.North (EUreferendum.com) its all there its called FLEXIT, the likelihood of any of the idiots picking it up and using it speaks volumes about any desire to actually leave the EU.

  5. A lady I know speaks with a British accent because she was born and raised in England. When she became an adult she moved to Canada and married a Canadian. Every few years she goes back to visit family and friends. She recently returned and I asked her how her trip to Europe was. She looked at me and informed me that she had never been to Europe. During the latest trip she had been to England and spent a day or two in Wales but she had never been to Europe in her life.

  6. Wow. That’s quite a comment. You must think you’re writing for the G&M. Something really important to say. FYI, this is a blog. You lost me after OK.

  7. Yeah
See my ancestors laid down blood for this country, likewise a few of my buddies took the queens shilling.
So yes I have a bit of dog in this fight.

  8. With Brexit now a reality. Watch as the government there uses every instrumentality to bludgeon it or delay it.
Legislators, party officials & all the government will be working with no sleep to try to kill it. Why? because from Canada, Australia, to the USA it shows up that our so called elected officials are in it for themselves, to shore up special interests , even against their own citizens. This elite views governance as a highway to personnel riches with a path to an elite status.
What they do not reflect is the voter publics wishes, what ever the Party. Its why gun control is so much of a hearts desire. They fear there own people who catapulted them to this exalted position. Law means nothing to them except to be exempt from their own rulings.Which we have seen from Obamacare to gun legislation.
From the petty to the profound laws. They have insulated themselves, from any responsibility from failure. From any culpability. From any crime
The media will be their foot soldier’s being their Renfields. Doing the bidding of this elite slavishly as we have watched. Its why they hate Trump. He may block their cons to fame, money, power, for these globalists, carpetbaggers & opportunists.
So expect to fight back , because once the shock is worn off a real fight will start against liberty in all its forms to keep these leeches in the cocoons of power with luxury. They have created with our apathy. Applying legislation to become a new aristocracy in our names with guile, becoming unassailable potentates.

  9. Oh, gawd, not that again.
Do you have any idea how many of us who come on here had family who fought for this country (and for Great Britain)and relatives who took the Queen’s shilling? As well as those who lost family? A wild guess could be 90%.
And I did try to read your comment as I would or I should say could have been interested in what you had to say but I did hang in till you said “mark my words”.
For heaven’s sake, everybody take a deep breath and calm down. It will all be fine in the end.

  10. Boris showed his true colors when he said that the victors needed to reach out to the losers.
The losers are at the moment not interested at all in anything but derailing the success of their opponents. They have no respect for the victors or any interest in meeting than halfway.
So eff you Boris. The remainers can bugger off. They lost. Treat them with the contempt the idiot half wits who were more than happy to sign away their national sovereignty and birthright – all in the interest of moral vanity – deserve.
The only time the left reach across the aisle is to poke their finger in their opponents eye while doing a victory dance.
FYI I thought your post was interesting DSV

  11. A well thought out and written article and I think I agree with pretty much everything Mr Johnson has written. Being a westerner many of us have the same feelings about eastern Canada and the motives of those eastern-centic leaders that we’ve had to live with over the decades (and that clearly includes our current one)
I shake my head over both Scotland and Sein Fein who both claim loyalty to the EU. They’ve both claimed that they wanted independence from England to the point of referendums and or violence but now the tyranny of the EU beaurocrats is okay.

  12. Are you writing that from England? absolutely spot analysis anyway i don’t trust him either and when the great English/Welsh public cotton on to the fact that we have been duped he won’t be going for many bicycle rides again take it from me and my friends and colleagues they have got a fight on their hands if they try and stop this particular show of democracy.

  13. The people of Canada have not learned….trust an Englishman(Brit) as far as you can spit on him/her. They are the the “elite”, so they think. The foockers loved Stalin.

  14. Based on what I’ve read elsewhere, Boris is going to push for a “sovereignty association” type deal rather than a full break. We know how well that worked out in Canada….

  15. Yes Mark,
Not watching from a distance here living with it, and been living with the EU since the day Heath the so called conservative took us into it.

  16. “…under the PM Major back in the 70s…” DSV – which Prime Minister was that? John Major was PM 1990 – 1997.

  17. Quite right. ‘Europe’ was the ‘Continent’ across the channel. We never thought of Britain as ‘Europe’. ‘Europe’ was ‘Abroad’ and it makes real sense given the profound political and cultural differences. This was, of course, before the onset of ‘self-loathing’ for having had created the greatest Empire in history that was claimed simply oppressed ‘peoples’. The whole business of a ‘European Union’ was a fantasy and novelty that exploited the spinelessness that has unfortunately grown in the English garden.
