  1. Re: Fighter jets.
Ironic that while we’re watching this, CBC,Ca is claiming that Russia is mobilizing for war.
I don’t believe anything I see or read on CBC, however should that be true, and with Trudeau at the helm, we are in serious trouble.

  2. I seriously doubt that Russia is gearing up for war – against the US – but if they are it is at America’s point of maximum weakness under Obama. Still Russia will fail in a most dramatic way. I doubt Putin is that serious or that stupid.

  3. More MSM lies. Remember the CBC story of Sept 02, 2015 where the young lad, Alan Kurdi, a Syrian refugee, had drowned while allegedly making his way to Canada?? The Globe and Mail and the CBC farmed this story to the limit, eventually causing great harm to Stephen Harper and the Conservative party of Canada during their election campaign. We later found out that the facts were false.
Now the Rebel Media is saying that no AR-15 was used in the slaying of 50 patrons at a gay bar in Orlando, Florida.

  4. U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz has announced $82 million for nuclear energy projects in 28 states… Two innovations Moniz cited specifically he’d like to see are advances in small modular reactors and work on what he called advanced fuels, including what he called accident-tolerant fuels. Such fuels, he said, could lead to reactors that are “fundamentally different in their designs.” He said small modular reactors are cheaper to build and, being modular, can be added to as power demands in a region grow.

  5. I was commenting on the story surrounding the false descriptions of (one of??) the assault rifles used in the terrorist attacks of Orlando, Florida early Sunday AM. I was simply making a comparison to a previous story by the MSM that was also false. Once again, my comment was caught up in the ”blog administrator.” I made two requests to have the previous comment released, but with no avail.
I used to get royally P’d off when CBC.Ca and other leftist media outlets deleted our comments.
Have a good time guys, I’m out of here!!
PS: Your ”Captcha” is even worst!!

“anglo saxaphone says… the false descriptions of
    (one of??) the assault rifles”

hey… pencils write poetry, cars murder pedestrians
“Dear CBC… demonising this one firearm is a sideshow…
a red herring… in the exact same way that preventing
distilleries producing single malt scotch whiskey will
    eliminate drunk driving fatalities.”

    oh, it gets better
“Curiously, the names of these two men, the perpetrators
of the recent San Bernadino & Orlando mass murders
are found nowhere in your article.”

I continue to be baffled at those who profess conservative ideals. Kate has no duty or requirement to release any of your comments, thoughts, pontifications. Should she wish to do it to any of us, it is what it is. You have no right to post; posting is an at-will thing.

  8. During my travels around the former Soviet Union I was touched by the crowds of unemployed young men hanging out in the streets, fit young men sitting by the side of the highway trying to sell mushrooms they’d gathered in the woods, call me old-fashioned but a stint in the military, even a military draft policy, gives these young men something to do, some jingle in their jeans, and most of them who come out of it are going to be healthier, more disciplined, trained and educated… back in the seventies I picked up a young aboriginal hitchhiker, he was headed to the city to enter the Canadian forces, he said they were going to train him as a diesel mechanic. Pumping up the military doesn’t necessarily mean preparing for war, it can be very beneficial “infrastructure spending”… I guess my perceptions of the world are old-fashioned, classic, I should drink more CBC koolaid.

  9. Kate’s been working until midnight most days, for as long as she can remember right now. 7 days a week. When I’m not on the road somewhere.
Keeping SDA running is about all I can manage at the moment, and releasing comments is unfortunately, not one of my priorities. I apologize for that, but there are only so many hours in a day.
And Captcha, I hate it too, but without it there would be no commenting at all.

  10. no need to apologize, if the rectums can’t handle a little inconvenience then that is their problem, not SDA’s:-)))

  11. Exactly Sean. Kate is hosting this blog as a free will thing and in her spare time. She has to make a living as she does not yet draw the Queen’s Shilling.
Kate, well put. When and if you have time show us some of your work.
Don, that should work out well, eh. An MB in the White House, who would have guessed it would come to this.

  15. Thorium is likely the reactor fuel for the future. The technology has been available since the 60s. Canada’s CANDU reactors of all sizes could run on Thorium fuel.
The impediments to implementation are political not technical.
Thorium is much more abundant and safer than uranium, but does not create weapons grade plutonium as a useful byproduct.

  16. Freedom Fyter: Ha-ha! That is funny!! Read you loud and clear!!
People have a legitimate right to complain about technical difficulties and other glitches they may encounter from time to time, on various web sites, blogs, etc. I’m a senior, I work as a volunteer in a public library and community centre. People of all ages arrive here on a regular basis to make use of our reading material and computers, whether to search the library catalogue, community archives, or to search the net. The library is a free service, as is the community center. We have our share of complaints every day. ”Small Dead Animals” is a popular blog among our patrons, I hear good comments about it. (Most of the time.)
I was writing letters to the editor as early as 1970. I know the feeling of having a letter rejected, especially by newspapers who were influenced by the socialist community of Saskatchewan. Freedom of expression is a right we must continue to fight for, as our leftist governments work tooth and nail to erode it.
As for the comments about this blog allowing people to post or not to post, that is totally ridiculous if not absurd. Those who post comments are those who show interest in its contents. I recently worked on a project where we phoned and asked members of our community why they were no longer patrons of our local newspaper, and why they had cancelled their subscriptions. The huge majority replied that they had gone over to web sites, blogs, online features etc. I wonder if having the ability to comment immediately vs waiting a week for their letters to appear may be a part of the reason why newspapers are passé??

  17. The reason I am no longer a patron of the Saskatoon newspaper is because it is not much more than a socialist PC mouthpiece. I had a subscription for decades until the bias became too blatant.
