9 Replies to “What the next Fiscal gov’t should do.”

  1. The biggest issue is that it keeps the leftist frame intact of “government always needs to be increasing!1!1”. That’s not a fiscally conservative way of doing things. Okay, it is under the 21st century conservative definition of slowing leftism but still going left.
    The only way you’re getting fiscally conservative is to let it burn down. Nobody, generally, between 18-25 wants freedom and those under 18 are being steeped in it (statism) daily. Thrown in the ever increasing number of leftist adults, especially the natural inclination of single women, and Canada is on the road to serfdom.

  2. Exactly ! I agree with every part of his proposL. Esp. the part where we conservatives get totally outplayed in the rhetoric game. Obama has no problem whatsoever LYING to the camera and to the faces of Americans (Shrillary, too). “My personal email was no different than Condoleeza Rice”. Of course that is a MASSIVE LIE of omission (Rice didn’t have a personal server to dump all her dangerously incriminating emails from) … “If you like your Doctor, you can keep your Doctor” … and the WORST … “America doesn’t provide medical care for its poor”. That’s the WORST LIE of all. This country DID provide medical care for its poor … AND … Illegal fence jumpers in the millions of patients and $ Billions of dollars.
    It is time the Conservatives start LYING as effectively as the Leftist apparatchiks

  3. This is absolutely true. First the colluding leftists (if we cans till even call them simply Leftists) succeeded in getting rid of the only party still watching out for the taxpayers, then they continue to expand their cartel control over both tax dollars and the foreign controlled global agenda to change the way we do everything ALL UNDER THE GUISE OF SAVING THE PLANET!! It’s time for everyone to wake up before it’s too late!

  4. Conservatives should govern by eliminating programs completely. They are harder to re-institute. Don’t do half-measures. When you kill CBC, kill it dead – no radio, no northern service, no funding of a PBS. Make the provinces and municipalities suffer. The have their own taxing authority. The more money Harper gave the provinces to more they squawked. And why is the federal government giving transfers to cities?

  5. A very wise conservative person once said “First you win the argument, then you win the election”.
    In this day and age it can be modified slightly taking a leaf from Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela:
    “First you win the argument, then the left wrecks the country’s economy, then you win the election.”
    And when you achieve power you do what you promised, not go to sleep with your feet up on your desks.
    Speaking of going to sleep, Where is the argument?

  6. Great comments above as was the content of the article linked.
    The sad part is that when a society has been corrupted too much it takes a catastrophe of some sort such as is happening in Venezuela to wake people up.

  7. in a country where over 60% of voters are socialists there will never be a financially responsible government. debt will be expanded no matter how horrendous the debt and the trough will be filled by wealth taken from others until there is no more wealth. then we shall be much like that south American country that embraced socialism.

  8. old white guy;
    Canadians have got away with being socialists for years. When old man Turdeau was in power he gained the country with a paid up Visa. He proceded to spend and allowed his buddies a full feed at the trough. PET was running $50 billion deficits way back then so any thought that voters will reject his son for fiscal imprudence is wishful thinking.
    One of the main reasons he was able to get away with this was the USA who pulled the Canadian economy along for the ride. If there is another fiscal downturn it should be global and Canada will not do well. The leverage in real estate values is huge so a likely double whammy is on the horizon.

  9. The BC Liberals have been freezing the education budget for years and the left has successfully left the impression that those are cuts. There’s no winning this fight until you understand the enemy. They do not play by the rules. They are not reasonable. This plan is based on a game where all sides play by the rules.
