One of the reasons, Premier Brad Wall is so popular, and likely to remain Premier on Monday, is because he keeps his promises. As opposed to that young man leading Canada.
One of the reasons, Premier Brad Wall is so popular, and likely to remain Premier on Monday, is because he keeps his promises. As opposed to that young man leading Canada.
Duh, he is front thing for Liberal Party of Canada.
If lips are moving he is lying, just like those he fronts for.
Every “promise” from our progressive elites, is timed out as it is uttered.
But Harper is evil.
The media guild of Canada sold this product to voters ,40%, dumb enough to buy it.
Manufacturers have liability.
We apparently can’t sue these merchants of lies, but we can screw them.
Just set them spinning, they will screw themselves in.
Thing about the chap who is playing the role of PM his managers are running the show. That show will continue to play for over three more years thanks to those stunned stupid enough to vote for Mannequin in the Liberal window. By that time we’ll have gone to pot in every sense of the word….we may not have that proverbial pot to p*** in.
There is absolutely no comparisons to be made between Brad Wall and Justin Trudeau. Wall is basically a commoner (and I mean that in a respectful way) and will do everything within his power to follow through on a promise. He will not make outlandish promises which he has no intention of keeping just to get elected. That is leadership.
Trudeau, on the other hand, is a spoiled, arrogant weasel who has no compunction over making promises and then reneging or making totally outrageous promises which he has no intention of carrying out just to make himself electable. That is not leadership.
Simply put, Wall is a good man and Trudeau is a detestable little sh*t.
This says it all…http://www.ntrc.info/doorbell.html
“Spoiled, arrogant weasel?” Gee, that seems rather unfair to weasels, who, being rodents, don’t lie or make phony promises or even take selfies. They are too busy trying to catch other small animals and eat them. If I was a weasel, I’d be darned insulted at being compared to a politician of any stripe. I’m not taking issue at anything else in your comment, I’m just saying, find another comparison. “Spoiled arrogant narcissistic poseur”, for instance, gives much the same effect, without maligning any poor rodents who are unable to defend themselves.
Wall promised to be a conservative. Where is the evidence?
Any crown corps liquidated?
Any deregulation on liquor and insurance etc?
Any charter school laws?
He is a CINO.
People, we have to stop blaming Trudeau the actor, we must blame his directors/managers. The rest of the Liberal Cabal are also being managed, some due to inexperience and some to dotage. Looking at the big three in that crazy mess, Goodale, McCallum and Dion it’s obvious they’re running on empty for instilling any confidence we are in good hands.
So it would have been irresponsible to keep his election promises but wasn’t irresponsible to make those promises in the first place? Quick, we need a liberal to show us the verbal gymnastics needed to square the circle on that one. I’m sitting back with the popcorn ready and waiting.
Weasals are not rodents.
Only in his pretend world did the “floor move.” In fact, economic conditions are better than when the Tories handed off. I know, he’s responsible for that, because he spent, spent, spent. No that’s not the reason. Hint: look south cabin boy.
Then again you need a fake storm to throw the captain of the ship of state overboard, just ask Peter Mansbitch or Lisa LaPlegm.
He’s only broken 14 promises so far, luckily minor ones like tripling the deficit and jettisoning any idea of balanced budgets or reduced debt/gdp ratio beyond of his tenure, which I suspect will approach five years, as he’s forced to disregard the fixed election date due a Liberal national emergency of discontent and low polling.
Now the Grits are looking into union and other third parties spending $millions to affect elections? Since the incestuous Grits have the media, with PravdaCBC available for influence anytime, no need for third parties to get us all off message.
Your rhetorical questions are pointless. Did he promise any of those things? He’s the most successful and popular politician in Canada with any kind of conservative leaning. Stick any kind of label on it you like, your comment is still irrelevant. This is as good as it gets nowadays.
“Any crown corps liquidated?”
Well according to these characters, the crown corporations are being savaged or will be in accordance with the “hidden agenda”. This foolishness is just one example of the lengths that certain well-funded organizations will go to in order to return us to the good old 1970’s.

“Any deregulation on liquor and insurance etc?”
Baby steps I know but we have a few private liquor stores for the first time in history.
As a contributor rightly pointed out on a much earlier discussion, socialism lies just beneath the surface in Saskatchewan. We still have many voters here who are easily frightened by the privatization and “mediscare” boogeymen which the NDP and their union buddies do not hesitate to invoke. Saskatchewan has improved dramatically since 2007 however anyone proceeding too drastically with conservative initiatives could very easily find himself on the opposition side of the legislature watching all the improvements being dismantled by the socialists.
Most of what you are saying is spot on. Possibly the 14 promises broken might be off , I suspect we could find more than that. The real problem is at least 60 % of the voters are loving what he is doing. The msm is basically backing that sentiment. When he is done revamping the election process it will be virtually impossible to get rid of him. The conservatives made a huge tactical mistake by not filling the senate seats. They have been neutered even though it was the morally right thing to do. It makes no difference because the opposition has no such restraints and is out for blood . I received a request for funding from the Conservative party last night. I said no. They asked me to renew my membership. I said no. I did not do this because I am upset with what they have done. I heard Rona Abrose speak on the budget and it was very reasoned , articulate and sensible. And the bulk of the people and the media paid no attention. We are likely stuck with this idiot for 12 years or longer. He is hell bent to put Eastern Canada in total domination of Canada. I see no percentage in playing the game. We have to look at alternatives as the present odds are stacked against us.
Justin Trudeauès father PET had it down to a science. He simply said and did in every campaign. tell the people what they want to hear, then when elected do what you want. Justin has learned the scam very well.
I think that Liberal voters should be held accountable, give them the tax bill for his broken promises. If people had to actually pay out of their own pocket for the crap they vote yes to we would finally have governance that stay out of social agendas.
Dude, I stand corrected. Weasels are rodent-eaters, not rodents, Bad taxonomy on my part.
Concerned;
I haven’t donated to the CPC since the election and I am a 40 year member. I received almost daily request for money.
When called I simply say I am waiting until the leadership is settled and I get a better idea of where the CPC is going. I won’t support them unless serious changes are made. To date I have not seen any accountability taken by leadership over what they have failed to do.
When I am asked what alternative is there for a conservative other than the CPC I say there are two alternatives. #1: sit on the side lines and watch the economy crater which it will eventually do. This might be the only way voters will truly learn.
#2: Recreate another western Canada option to inherit the conservative vote in the West. Done that before but this time it would more likely led to separation. The fundamental economic conflict between east and west Canada will likely never be resolved. The conservative movement in Western Canada has to organize on a combined federal/provincial party basis.
Bbiffjr. You are right . What could happened in Alberta could happen here in a heartbeat if
things move to fast . The NDP is shooting wildly and can.t find an easy target.
Poll suggest 55 seats for Sask Party

The Conservatives were in power for 9 years and that’s a pretty good run. I think Canadians wanted a change, and the hands were out from the usual groups wanting more government assistance. Also, I really believe the environmentalists did a heck of a job brainwashing Canadians and badmouthing the conservatives. Unfortunately a lot of the good Harper did was not talked about, only the negative side was accentuated by our corrupt media which I’ve given up watching. He became the bad guy who was responsible for everything that was wrong with Canada. I thought Canada was a country to be proud to be a part of, unlike now…but then I don’t need government assistance, yet. People should but won’t realize that Harper laid the foundation for the economy to improve, not Turdeau and his cronies. Let’s hope the Conservative party chooses a leader who will make a difference and have charisma which seems to be so important to the Canadian electorate. A young person commented on the election saying “the young” are in charge now, and the old people (Conservative party) are dying off. The young need to know that the demographics in this country are changing and hopefully as one ages, he or she will realize government rampant spending along with high taxes and unchecked immigration does not make a country prosperous.
Hey Liz; right on with you and the desparately low level of competency in the Trudeau Cabinet. The only addion to add is the pressure from Gerald Butts to ensure the Just in Trudeau as Prime Minister Cabinet does not set up a situation where P.M. Trudeau the Younger appears to be the least capable in the room.
Having “Gabby” Goodale; “Micky” MacCollum; & “Dumb” Dion as the “Heavy Hitters” in Cabinet is bound to make “liar-liar-pants on fire” Trudeau the Younger look less incompetent.
After all; some where in a deep dark corner of the Liberal Party of canada/quebec/ontario is a person; a person who is shaking their head and wondering Just in what in H.E. two hockey sticks Did He/She get in a place where this deep, dark, corner inhabitant could have their reputation damaged forever by being party to this group of incompetents.
We need a party with the ba11s to bring in a law that says that breaking campaign promises is the same as fraud! (hey…I can dream)

Within the debate, Broten’s focus was largely on Wall’s attitude toward pay-to-play health care. Having once promised never to allow anybody with a “bulging wallet to jump the queue,” Wall is now pushing a credit-card-based system for diagnostics. And given the lack of any explanation as to how that radical change in positions came about or where it could possibly end, there’s little reason for confidence that Wall won’t impose even more out-of-pocket medicine if he gets the opportunity.
It’s not difficult to find other single issues where Wall has abandoned past campaign commitments, starting nearly from the moment he took power. But there are also more fundamental changes to be seen in how Wall now treats the relationship between governance and party politics — and it’s there that voters may find the most reason for concern in how his priorities have developed.
During his first term (and in the midst of a resource boom), Wall made a point of not trying to take undue or excessive credit for economic factors that had little to do with him. At the time, he was willing to acknowledge that Saskatchewan’s economic ascension started before he took office and substantially benefited his party, going out of his way to “work hard to make sure we give credit to the previous government.”
This might come as a surprise to voters now being bombarded with the Saskatchewan Party’s ads attacking previous NDP governments for making the difficult decisions resulting from the Devine PCs’ irresponsibility.
In effect, Wall and his party are now engaged in a determined exercise in collective amnesia when it comes to Saskatchewan’s development under the previous NDP regime. And it’s hard to see any explanation other than that two terms of government have caused Wall to forget that good governance requires a leader to honestly appraise how we’ve arrived at our current political position — rather than aiming solely at attempting to grab all possible credit and deflect all blame.

This time, he has made few promises because he is running a front-runners campaign.
Not conservative enough = bring in the socialists.
Hello, those issue raised by Gordon don’t have to be promises they are foundational issue we should expect from true Conservatives. Look, Mr Wall is very popular and for many good reasons. But he also was very aggressive sending emails tweets and many ads last few years telling everyone about all this wonderful economic activity, growth and revenues and how great Sask was/is doing and then overnight we have a deficit ( I know, oil ). But no one is asking questions. Its the same issue with Trudeau his popularity clouds scrutiny and holding politicians to accountability
I don’t want the NDP but I want accountability even from Brad Wall. Don’t forget after the Carbon tax meeting in BC he said now is no the time and he would work towards a carbon tax, total reverse from his fierce rhetoric before opposing it. He is pretty good at using his popularity to fire up people.
Also, friends of mine purchased crown land and had a dispute with the Sask AG department over some pretty shady practices and were treat horribly by bureaucrats, MLA’s and the minster of Ag. When they they wrote Wall to ask for help he told them deal was done too bad. The walk doesn’t match the talk at the ground level.
Maybe its as good as it gets and the political systems at every level in this day and age is to settle for the best of the what ever is there.
So Justine the brainless actor blathers on and on about how lying his ass of in order to get elected is a virtue. Sounds about right, for a “Liberal” sociopath. I occasionally take in Turds childish act strictly for entertainment purposes… His breathless blathering wide eyed delivery is at least a comical sight, shockingly inept, but funny… reciting his lines without the slightest inclination of what the hell he’s blathering on about while the hopelessly corrupt media syndicate of eunuchs and whores pleasure themselves at every breathless utterance… entertaining stuff… nauseating, but entertaining too. The country belongs to these nit-wit worshipping gangsters anyhow and nothing is going to change that… Monkey boy is King of the warped oligarchical Trudopian empire forever, may as well enjoy the freak show.
The country didn’t turn left wing overnight and it’s not going to move back overnight either. It is a slow and steady process. It is like having your hand on the tiller while sailing….just a small twist one way and the destination you arrive at is not the one that the passengers expected. That is the key to taking back the county from the leftists. It takes time and slow and steady changes.
“Hello, those issue raised by Gordon don’t have to be promises they are foundational issue we should expect from true Conservatives”
vern, you are a prime example what is wrong with the “electorate”. On the federal side of things, Harper and Just-Teen got elected by about 38% of the popular vote, which represents about 18% of the actual population of Canada, BUT, they govern 100% of the population, therefore the go slow mode is essential to governing. Apply to provincial politics and you have roughly the same model. Most ppl today are closer to centrists and/or left leaning, a true conservative government wouldn’t cut it, kapeach????
Bongo will be very difficult to defeat unless he turns out to be some kinda Jimmy Saville type.
He sent a clear signal to quebek and Ontario that he is prepared to deliver. The gravy train is in the station loaded with goodies. 30 billion dollars worth – just to get started. Lots more to come.
This will deliver the vote in perpetuity in fish world, quebek and Ontario. Liberal majorities all around. Salute!
The west need not apply. They don’t need you…..well except for your taxes which get distributed in vote buying scams in the above noted regions.
The CPC will end up like the PC party in Ontario. One inept leader after another. The message falling on deaf ears. Yesterdays news. Canada is a progressive country. One of the most progressive in the world. Conservatives promoting a message of fiscal restraint or heaven forbid a social conservative agenda will be run out of town. It’s over.
It’s not the politics that are wrong in Canada it’s the philosophy. The large majority of Canadians believe in big government, believe it has answers. Has money. Needs to be expanded into aspects of peoples lives. The individual is a nuisance. The collective is the way.
Sorry
Ct – great comment. I am beginning to believe # 2 is our only option.
Still have my republic of western Canada hat from the 80s
The west wants out!
Tonight I was watching that little blind maggot, Craig Oliver on CTV News Channel’s ”Power Play.” What an ass-whole!
He was justifying Trudeau ignoring unemployed Alberta oil field workers. Even worst is the maggot Trudeau!!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3519583/Peace-fools-Obama-plays-clown-flashing-peace-sign-nuclear-security-summit-team-photo-gets-unimpressed-looks-bemused-world-leaders.html
Some good pics of Tardeau and Bark trying their best to lick each other at the peace festival.
Plainsfyre – It’s a great way to ruin your weekend. They have no clue and don’t care. I suspect one the reasons the unemployment figures aren’t higher is many of the people who have been let go were long term employees who received a package . So as of now they likely don’t qualify for unemployment benefits. If it continues as things are now it is probable the unemployment statistics will reflect this.
Justin is PM but he is not and never will be a leader. As you say, he is “a spoiled, arrogant weasel.”
I suspect that is going to happen in a way that you never expected.
Inertia is a hard thing to overcome.
They let you get some pet projects done but then shut you down for the real “stuff”.
Public sector union need to be neutered, right to work, voluntary dues, and the union collects their own dues.
Enough, they are influencing elections, theiy are violating election law with “volunteers” who should be considered in kind contributions and this is all monitored by elections regulatory bodies in the same union staffed by the very same people violating election law.
STOP.
“he also was very aggressive sending emails tweets and many ads”
We are bombarded ad nauseam with propaganda paid for by the big unions warning us about all the bad things that Brad Wall “might” do. So Wall counters with a few tweets and facebook items pointing out what he has accomplished. Big deal. Better that he sits on his hands and lets his detractors spout nonsense without accountability?
“promised never to allow anybody with a “bulging wallet to jump the queue,”
This typical socialist whining reeks of fear, loathing and envy. Nothing more. With private clinics, no one is “jumping” the queue. Those that can afford it are simply changing queues not unlike leaving the lineup at Walmart to go to another till. Let’s put it in terms that even a socialist can understand. If I am number 7 in line for a surgical procedure or an ultrasound or whatever and number 9 in line wishes to pay at a private clinic, I am still number 7. No one “jumped” ahead of me. Furthermore, if number 5 in line opts to go to a private clinic, guess what? Now I’m number 6. Win, win. Those that p*ss and moan over limited private health care are so blinded by envy and selfishness that they simply can’t stand to see others benefit because they can afford to. Much like being resentful because your neighbour got a new car and you didn’t. But, come to think of it, isn’t that socialism in a nutshell?
Give the premier credit. At least he has the common sense to realize that a mixture of public and private health care is the only way to fix our less than perfect health system. Throwing more money at it and creating more bureaucracy fixes nothing.
The Clown Prince is just like his father.
I remember how PET worried only about Quebec and Ontario as that was where the majority of the parliamentary ridings were. If he got those, whatever happened in the rest of the country didn’t matter.
I recall the 1980 federal election. I was a grad student at UBC at the time and the polls there closed 3 hours later than in central Canada. When the CBC began showing the results on TV, it was clear that the election was already over without any ballots in my riding having been counted.
That made me wonder why I bothered voting.
Sadly, after that election, PET began filleting western Canada with the NEP, much to the delight, no doubt, of Ontario and Quebec. After all, Alberta had the arrogance to expect a proper price on the oil produced there, rather than giving it away to the easterners for free.
“Simply put, Wall is a good man and Trudeau is a detestable little sh*t.”
You summed it up well.
Well said, every word, and ditto here. I throw the letters in the trash, don’t answer their phone calls and delete their emails.
I am wondering why I helped the CPC and spent treasure to support them. Almost every major initiative the put through has been reversed other than the Wheat Board and firearms registration and I expect both will be back within the next three years.
Better to let it all go south. The people wanted lies and deceit, let them have it.
“Slow and steady” will not happen. The socialist ideology is too deeply embedded in the educational system. It will only get worse and ultimately collapse.
“One of the most progressive in the world. Conservatives promoting a message of fiscal restraint or heaven forbid a social conservative agenda will be run out of town. It’s over.”
BINGO! It started in the schools.
You want to see this corrected huh?
Margaret Thatcher pointed out the feature of socialism that smartens up the voters.
When he runs out of money and all tax revenue is going to debt repayment, he will have to cut some programs.
Thats when he can’t win a majority.
And for liberals a minority is not a win.
Well and that’s another myth….that we elect “leaders”. We don’t. We elect representatives. While Turdeau (not a spelling mistake) might be called “leader” by the CBC and other fools, he might be “leader” of the Liberal party, but he sure as hell isn’t Canada’s “leader”. We have steadily bought into the myth of the PM as the “leader” of the country, but that is simply another slow and steady indicator of Canadians becoming more and more subservient to top-down government. A trajectory, which by the way, must be changed.
Every year the governing geniuses nose their way further and further into private citizens affairs.
Every year they cry;”Productivity is falling in Canada”.
Never will they connect the two.
It is the duty of every patriot to starve the beast. However you can.
There will be no return to sanity, until the federal kleptocracy implodes.
This will only happen when it runs out of other peoples money and productive people to rob.
Reform. Was it even possible ?
On a fully fledged Kleptocracy?
Perhaps you are right regarding the socialist ideology, but as we have seen in such socialist nirvana’s like Venezuela, the house of cards collapses. One of the things that absolutely must be attacked with considerable vigor, is the growth of the public sector because once the public sector reaches a certain point, it carries enough voting power to stay in power forever. We certainly see that sort of thing happening in municipalities where the sitting municipal government pretends to be operating on behalf of taxpayers and then goes behind closed doors to give the public sector unions whatever they want…..and in return the public sector supports those politicians. And slow and steady does actually work. But it has to be relentless and much of it is done under the table.
Except that to this point in time no one is fighting against the growth of the public sector. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger and is already obviously influencing the election outcomes in Ontario and Alberta and is beginning to influence the federal elections.
Ken Kulak: “every major initiative the put through has been reversed other than the Wheat Board and firearms registration.”
No worries Ken. Once Grits convince themselves, no matter what the evidence, this is what “Canadians want,” they will both be reinstituted.
What Gord doesn’t understand is that there are two paths in SK. Only two.
You can have the NDP and a party that encompasses liberalism as well as soft-c conservatism. This will mean the NDP will lose.
or
You can have three parties, representing the right, the centre and the left. This will mean the NDP win.
Those are the choices. Exactly one “Conservative Party” premier has actually been elected in Saskatchewan; Grant Devine and his government so tainted the brand that party will never rise out of the fringe again.
Before 1944 the Liberals were the dominant force and they nearly bankrupt the province which lead to the rise of the NDP in 1944. Thereafter until the death of the Liberal party in 1982 every single election was heavily influenced if not decided by the vote split on the right.
And because people don’t know history, the conservatives tried a resurgence after Devine in 95. Conservatives couldn’t vote Liberal, the NDP won again.
Then in 99 and 03 Liberals couldn’t vote Sask Party, and so the NDP won again.
So, a choice. A left of centre party or a right of centre party.
This generation seems smarter because
a) they don’t listen to people like Gord,
b) are willing to compromise on the hard edges of their ideology.
I recently found a bunch of Reform Party lapel pins, it looks like I may be using them again.
