Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Rest in peace Rob.
I liked Rob and he was a good guy. Much better than the wet noodle sheet stain in there now.
CBC continues to bash Rob Ford by reporting every horrible video and lie he was caught in. Disgusting. The CBC should hang its head in shame and gives me even more reason to despise them.
On the other hand, CTV reporting the good he did for Toronto and the positive. Thank you CTV, even Liberal Scott Reid on right now recounting the good and positive. Including all he did for youth football!
Very sorry to hear this.
Rest in peace, Rob. Sympathies to all the Ford family.
CBC is a disgrace.
He was trump before trump.
There are very few people willing challenge the system. Ford was one such person.
I’m was an ex UK Tory, but have been for many years a rabid Canadian Socialist. Rob was Conservative and, unaccountably, liked our ex PM. But I much preferred Rob, who was a kind and decent human being, regardless of his faults, and a far nicer man than many of those creeps who criticized him.
He’ll be able to join a couple of other equally kind-hearted politicians who died too soon, Jack Layton & his friend Jim Flaherty. May they all rest in peace.
Rest in peace, Mr. Ford. 46 is far too young.
Rest in peace, Rob.
The CBC lead paragraph on Rob’s passing is disgusting. The things that went on in Rob’s personal life never hurt anybody and mentioning them at time like this shows an utter and complete lack of respect. RIP Rob, your legacy is an inspiration to all of us.
Sad day ,Rest in Peace Rob Ford, you will be missed. On a more cheerful note and to show there is some justice both gossip rags gawker and the toronto star are now in palliative care !
When Oliver Cromwell was standing for an official portrait the artist endeavoured to glamourize the photo by leaving off his facial disfigurations. Cromwell ordered him to depict himself as having ‘warts and all’. Perhaps this is why Mr. Ford was such a polarizing figure. To his supporters his demons were proof of his humanity and readily identified with his vulnerability. To his detractors his faults were an all to close reminder of their own private failings and weaknesses.
He was brash, bellicose, corpulent and probably unapologetic to the end. To Ford Nation he was a most extraordinary politician. He now has rest from both his demons and his tormentors. May his family have peace in this season of grief.
“…Beyer described the private Ford as a different man—quieter, more thoughtful—than the one the world came to know on TV….”
What the writer really meant to say was “… than the one the world saw demonized by the leftist media…”
RIP. He died WAYYYYY tooooo young. However, we are NOT immortal. Nor are we bulletproof. When you ABUSE your body the way he did … you are taking your chances. Drugs. Overeating. Lack of Exercise. God knows what else. You are NOT immune to all the slings and arrows of biology. Your cells want to be your friend … not your enemy.
Thank you, my friend … for reminding me to get on the stationary bike this afternoon !
The CBC is a complete embarrassment to all Canadians. All of you lefties who support the CBC should hang your head in shame.
Timid Conservative politicians in Canada are afraid to tackle politically correct perfidy head on.
Rob Ford was not afraid. He was elected mayor in the Canadian centre of political correctness.
May Rob Ford rest in peace. Let his example of courage inspire others.
A shock.
I voted for the man – only time i ever voted for a mayor.
RIP
Rob Ford had personal problems with addiction but he never preyed on anyone and was only a danger to himself. Rob volunteered extensively and worked tirelessly for the little people.
Those who have been casting stones from their self-elevated perches of moral purity should learn a little humility.
May God grant peace and comfort to Rob Ford and his family.
CBC won’t likely be alone, I sure Jilly and Davey Boy on CJME this afternoon will get their digs and snide remarks in on Rob. Those two liberal, self proclaimed atheists, that are on in the afternoon, are one slimy pair, and have no conscience regarding the continued dissing of Rob Ford.
One great thing about PMSH’s 11 week campaign was, media personalities revealing themselves, as the liberals they truly are, because they couldn’t contain themselves for 11 weeks. Those on CJME, such as Murray Wood(News director) and Jilly and Davey Boy(Mainstreet) in the afternoon are three such cases. I can’t stand to listen anymore. Those two are very good at massaging and manipulating people for 3 hours each afternoon. Try to take a contrarily different point of view from then on Trany bathroom rights, homosexual marriage and baking cakes, abortion, smokin’ dope, Turdou’s deficit and budget, provincial ndp, mandatory bike helmets, etc, etc,, I’m astounded, anyone still thinks CJME is a conservative radio station, outside of Gormley(who is plenty liberal himself some days).
That’s exactly what I said on CBC website. The comment was promptly disabled.
RIP Mr. Ford. I have respect for him, warts and all. Condolences and God’s peace to his family.
Bart F, exactly.
What Carl said.
If CBC was perforated in 4 inch squares it would be a non-useful item.
Speaking of CBC, I note that George McLean, the former news announcer at The National, has died at 92.
God, is it just me….or does Rosemary Barton’s natural snotty way make watching the CBC political show impossible? I am prepared to admit it might just me who can’t stomach her.
Marty Walsh, choke on a soup bone you fat cow
a dear friend, a German lady living in the north end, was/is a huge fan or Rob. he took the time to return her call *personally* regarding some pertinent issue whilst he was mayor.
said a lot to me about the man.
Well said! I totallv agree re Rawlco’s 980 / 650 dolts.
The very scum, the media, will all be giddy and breathlessly out front today praising Rob, after ruining his professioal life within society, what he did in his own time was his business but the pigs of Canada the Walshes the Peters and we know the rest all delighted in the character assasination of Rob when he was among the populace of Turdo lovin assholes in Toronto. The CBC is the most detestable coagulation of perverts, malcontents miscreants and god knows what else, anyone could assemble, the fact that we have to pay a portion of our sattellite bill to this nest of evil is sickening in 2016. Harper did a lot right but not sending these sickos to the unemployment line is sad.
I have seen the most tolerant person I know wince at the sight and sound of Ms. Barton,
and Carl you are spot on about CJME/CKOM.
Rob Ford was a weird but wonderful guy.
“Thank you, my friend … for reminding me to get on the stationary bike this afternoon ! ”
Yes, by all means get on your stationary bike … because as everyone knows, it makes you immortal … and beats every form of cancer.
RIP Rob.
