Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Today, CBC released a story that says that Trudeau is climbing in the polls. Before you visit the site however, may I remind you of a nation wide CTV poll that ran two days before Valentines Day, and that showed that Mr. Trudeau’s love affair with Canada suddenly had thorns in its heart! The results were as follows:
How would you rate the Liberal government on its first 100 days?
Exceeds expectations———776 (11 %)
Meets expectations———–2292 (32 %)
Fails to meet expectations—4067 (57 %)
Now look at the CBC story! Is this BS or what??

Why shouldn’t the CBC say that? Didn’t PM Truedolt promise it more money?

http://www.torontosun.com/2016/03/01/senate-wants-tax-on-sugary-drinks–and-thinks-your-orange-juice-is-garbage-too
Sun: “‘Canada’s dated food guide is no longer effective in providing nutritional guidance to Canadians,’ the report said. ‘Fruit juice, for instance, is presented as a health item, when it is little more than a soft drink without the bubbles.'”
What? Our government has been misleading us all these decades? Whom can we sue for fraud?
From what I’ve heard, the notion that fruit juice is “little more than a soft drink without the bubbles” isn’t even particularly new.
This is the problem with “evidence-based” policy — the evidence frequently changes.
The moral of the story is that it’s better to have no policy at all. Government is coercive. Its proper sphere of activity is defense of individual rights, not fruit juice.
Let the scientists provide the public with their up-to-date evidence and opinion, let the public use their judgment on an individual basis, and keep government out of the picture.

Weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq!
Bush was right!
The New York Time reported this in front page news!
…From 2004 to 2011, American and American-trained Iraqi troops repeatedly encountered, and on at least six occasions were wounded by, chemical weapons remaining from years earlier in Saddam Hussein’s rule.
In all, American troops secretly reported finding roughly 5,000 chemical warheads, shells or aviation bombs…

Thomas Sowell who is often right, is dead wrong on this one.
There is no way the USA will continue its downward trajectory if Trump is elected.
That is an absurd thing to say.
Trump is against the things that are causing this downward trajectory.
Sowell may as well claim under Trump more Mexican will enter the USA illegally than under Obama it would be about as absurd.
Oh please, we have no idea what Trump wants other than that he wants Trump to be the next president. He says things that people want to hear at the given moment.
That is all.
Please point me to an example of him consistently holding on to some controversial unpopular political positions. And then when you find those (good luck), please point me to an example of him acting on those convictions.
He has everything to gain and nothing to lose. He may turn out to be good president, he may grow up into the office. But somber people should understand that they are taking a huge chance on him. I have no doubt he will be a better president (and he will be the next president) than either of the two communists from the evil side. I would also take him over Rubio in a heartbeat (not over Cruz) but that is merely a sad reflection of how poor the other choices are. The level of infatuation otherwise sensible people exhibit when his name is mentioned reminds of leftists orgasming for Ogabe or Justine. Be more cynical folks and don’t confuse your hopes with your rational expectations.
He is no Stephen Harper, he is no Ronald Reagan, he is no Margaret Thatcher. For better or worse he may turn out to be the next Teddy Roosevelt. Or he may be just the next Arnold Schwarzenegger and nothing more than that.

The Super Tuesday voting results laid waste to the lot of them.
I watched Trump giving his speech last night, with Christie slightly behind him and to the side. Christie appeared to be looking seriously out at the crowd, checking for any problems. (Trump wears a bullet-proof vest for a reason.)
Actually Christie appeared to be chewing on a turd sandwich being seriously upset that he 5 minutes of fame are over….

I think these polls are pretty meaningless. Most people are either not paying attention or want to have their voting decision confirmed. The media refusing to cover anything negative about the Liberals also ups their numbers. If anything, it confirms how easily public opinion can be manipulated.

Wonder if Christie is angry at his own lack of support and now thinks he can to inflict the most damage on his party by supporting Trump?
“‘We taw a puddy tat’ named Mitt Romney today”
“Romney’s unwanted mewlings are for naught as time will prove that rather than turning people against populist Trump, all he did was to get him elected as president”
“Like Tweety of cartoon fame, We ‘Tawt we taw a puddy tat’ when two-time presidential loser Mitt Romney tried to hurl his feline self at Republican front-runner Donald trump on CNN this morning.
Up to now other than watching his son Josh Romney try to force a primary challenger on Utah Senator Mike Lee, the most conscientious conservative in office today, it’s been a case of of ‘cat’s got your tongue’ for Romney on the 2016 presidency. But now that it looks like business mogul Donald Trump has a real shot at the presidency from millions of 8-year-long disenfranchised Americans, Romney comes crawling out of his gilded ‘puddy tat’ cage.
Shouldn’t folks remind him, “The election’s over, Mitt, and you so roundly lost.”
http://canadafreepress.com/article/we-taw-a-puddy-tat-named-mitt-romney-today
Romney: where was your fire last election? Obama gave you legions of material, and you turtled instead, going after one of your own, from whom you happily accepted support in 2012.
Another establishment weenie trying to tell the voter to do the exact opposite of what they want – get rid of overpromising and underperforming professional politicians. Romney’s 2012 milquetoast GOP is stuck on stupid and has found another way, this time without a candidate, to choke on the presidential election. He’s so dangerous but you will back Trump if he wins the nomination, assuming the establishment jackals can’t torpedo him. Right that makes sense? Ignore democracy, that’s the American way eh Mitt? Trust the voters, Mr Romney. If you look closer you’ll see a lot of new voter/independents and even soft Dems looking at Trump. Why alienate them and chase them away? Trump is a big part of the turnout records vrs the bland Dem results. Why must they kill the golden goose?
Trump is a failed billionaire, who is downright dangerous, who will cause America to cease being a “shining (Democrat ruled) city on the hill.” Which Obama gets to take credit for; no doubt Hillary has taken note. BTW, tell us all about Romney care, Mitt. BTW, Rubio took his bullet, he’s DOA. Cruz is Hillary kill. The Congress elections argument is goofy; RINO criticism is what will turn off voters, the same ones who are looking at Trump. Very illogical.
I hope Trump points that out. I think he will start asking them questions about policy – what’s your “plan” genius? A week ago I said the GOP had three quality candidates; now they have only one, but the “majority” are still trying to impose their will on the grassroots, self-fulfilling likely GOP failure.
When was the last time a political party criticized one of their executive nominees on the grounds it will hurt their other candidates downstream. They all need to shut their yaps or we could end up with a self-pardoning president with total control of the courts. It happened in Canada with the Harper derangement nonsense and now sensible Americans are being set up to do the same thing this fall, conned by elites’ Trump pathologies.
http://www.rigzone.com/news/oil_gas/a/143302/IEA_Oil_Prices_Have_Bottomed_Out_But_Growth_Will_Not_Be_Sharp
The IEA expects prices to reach $80 per barrel by 2020, with U.S. oil production reaching a record high of 14.2 million barrels per day by 2021.
Some analysts disagreed with the IEA’s outlook on the speed of oil price rebound. “The change is not going to be gradual, but it will be sudden,” Torbjorn Kjus, senior oil analyst at Norway’s leading bank DNB. “We think the price will be above $60 per barrel within the next 12 months,” he added. DNB analysts estimate that it would take about a year for the U.S. shale oil producers to ramp up output after prices rise to levels that make it profitable again.

the tilly hat brigade are having a collective gang bang of the Canadian nation, splurging their pent up hopes and dreams, unconsciously uneasy at the prospect that reality, those hard impersonal laws of nature, laws of science, and laws of economics will converge to smash everything they have ‘built’, ie those processes and institutions meant to DESTROY the integrity of the nation.
