NYC Council: Entitled to their Entitlements

If you ever wanted a closeup look at the corruption that is the public sector mindset, look no further than New York City Council:

Maybe this is how the sausage must be made, but to insist that raises-for-reform is principled progressivism — that their stuff doesn’t stink, that their bribes don’t corrupt — is a big part of why, when people think of the Council at all, they think “bums-at-best, crooks-at-worst.”

The author of the column, Harry Siegel, discusses this corruption with John Batchelor here.

  1. Who the hell do they think they are! Indian Chiefs…or Canadian Senators or sumthin’??

  2. Prove you can command the kind of wages you think you deserve, but in the private sector, then we will see as a basis for discussion. Otherwise, buzz off.

  3. They have a pen and a pension ! Why not spike their pay and pension as soon as they can. It’s not like it’s anyone’s money.

  4. Shamrock;
    I thought Kevin O’Leary hit a home run a while back when he said that a pre-requisite for public office was a record of meeting payroll at a private company for a minimum 2 years. You cannot get more basic than that.
