  5. If I were a Syrian refugee I also would not be that keen to come to Canada. Language and culture are big barriers. A barracks in Petawawa in the middle if winter or a hotel room somewhere in a strange city are not a significant improvement over current arrangements for many. Canadians are very arrogant to think everyone wants to come here. This whole project (including media obsession with happy Syrian stories and photos ops)is misguided.

    Calgary independent MLA Deborah Drever rang in the new year apologizing to constituents after a holiday greeting identical to NDP member Brandy Payne’s appeared in a community newsletter under Drever’s name.
    “This is more embarrassing than anything,” said Duane Bratt, a professor of political science at Mount Royal University. “But it does show (Drever) is as close to the NDP as possible without actually, officially being in the caucus.”
    Drever denied responsibility for the gaffe, attributing it to an error by the newsletter’s publisher.
    “The holiday message published under my name was not one that I wrote,” she said.

    Why voters would stoop so low as to believe any of what the LPC says at any time shows again that PT Barnum’s saying is a classic.
    Suckers may be born every minute but only because they are looking for something for nothing…at someone else’s expence.

  12. Maybe you should all go back and listen to the tune again, there is an abundance of wisdom in it. Hopefully this will go viral and spread from the shores of the mighty Saskatchewan to the Fraser and the Miramichi. If enough Canadians take it to heart we can “mutiny” and bring this government to heel before they can inflict too much damage.

    Agreed that Canada is the best place in the world! Agreed that Trudeau has his head up his ass!
    I do however believe that there is a better place than Canada for Syrians. It’s a country named Syria. Most of the male refugees that arrive here do so to avoid having to fight ISIS. As for the women and kids, what better welfare system is there than good old Christian Canada???
