3. How dare any white humans recognize or even worse praise the achievements that we’ve made in science, technology, democracy, the arts etc. Haven’t we realized yet that we should be apologizing to the world for all that white people have done.
   It is time to shut all university doors for a couple of generations.

6. Dissent, derision and humour and at these goose-stepping PC progressive echo chambers are some of the best ways at maintaining sanity. They all need to be privatized and then perhaps some diversity of opinion might actually appear.

7. I can see their point and the justifiable frustration with “Progressives” (who I personally consider to be a bunch of fascist commies, in both word and deed).
   But with a name like “White Student Union” means it is in fact race-based. And in the list being compared above none of the organizations are in fact race-based — they are all ethnic or religious, colour is not referenced. I know the point being made, for example some places have Black Student unions which are clearly race-based and racist, yet tolerated by authorities in a biased fashion. But does that mean we should imitate them? Two wrongs don’t make a right.
   Just my opinion, but I would try another approach. For example a Scottish Students association, or an Anglo Students association, or a Euro-Canadian Students association, or a Christian Students association, all of which would be ethnic or religious like the others. And if they still get biased blow-back then I think they would definitely have a case worth fighting for.

8. Ricardo: the entire point is to force the “authorities” to over-react. In doing so they expose the injustice for everyone to see. Classic Alinski tactics.
   Two wrongs indeed do not make a right. But you are confusing tactics with ethics. Category error.

11. I’m also of the opinion that that the financial crisis of 2008 was in no small part caused by a handful of elite teaching institutions – Harvard, Princeton, Oxford, etc., etc. promulgating homogeneous financial strategies – ultimately a recipe for disaster.
    Diversity and equality don’t mix – except in the demented minds of progressives.

12. Except it could be argued that all of them are religious, cultural, or ethnic — colour is still not mentioned.
    And if you want to take the bull by the horns, why not get to the root of the problem which is political, not racial — they only use race as a baiting technique. Alinski was a communist — how about an Anti-Communist Students Union, or something irritating like the Counter-Progressive Tar Sands Association (steal their own language — “appropriating the language of the oppressor against the oppressor”). Use your imagination, because the Left doesn’t have any, much less brains.

    and, incidentally, true, 2 wrongs do not make a right, but curiously, in mathematics, multiplying a negative by a negative results in a positive. so, nature seems to provide an exception to the ‘rule’ about ‘2 wrongs’.

15. Okay, Black Students association shouldn’t be on there it’s racist — I would definitely get in their face with a White Students association until they removed it. And to really make the point, see if you can recruit some Asian friends for a Yellow Students association just to show them the insanity of racialization through colour assignment. These pure skin colours don’t even exist in reality, everybody at most is only a pale shade of these.

    Now this is a very interesting point that Ricardo raises, and I think it almost goes directly to the heart of the problem faced by Western culture.
    Take for example the “Punjabi Association”. Any chance anyone there will be white? Have you ever met a white Punjabi? I haven’t. What about the “Chinese Students’ Association”? Same thing. Ever met a white Chinese?
    So all these groups have a sort of “legitimate cover” if you will.
    What if as a student you wanted to form a group for white Westerners? You would have no way to do so….
    And there in my friends lies the rub.

    You’re right in theory only. First off race is too broad a term, and the colours associated with race are too simplistic.
    Did my degree in anthro, and there are only four known races with specific biological differences that can be meaningful in that way: Caucasian, Asian, African and Aboriginal (commonly known as White, Yellow, Black and Red). Skin colour is the least important of the bio differences — skin colour is simply melanin or the relative lack thereof. And the colours we commonly assign to the races were obviously over-simplied, probably for the sake of academic study. In reality only something like a cartoon character would be coloured literally White, or Black, or Yellow, or Red.
    And if we start talking in terms of entire races and their “accomplishments” then nobody accomplished anything! Caucasians as an entire homogenous group have never accomplished anything — because they’re not homogenous, even though they belong to this single big race. Neither did Asians, neither Africans nor Aboriginals — it’s too broad, each includes too many different ethnicities, nationalities, languages, cultures, religions, histories, economies, geographies, et cetera to attribute specific accomplishments to any of them as an entire race. In other words there are often greater differences within the races, than there are between the races. You’d have to narrow things down more to talk of accomplishments. It’s probably more useful to speak in terms of a culture, rather than a race in that respect.

18. Anthrodude – potential members of a White Student’s Union know exactly who belongs and doesn’t belong in their club. I admire you bravery in admitting you wasted 4 years earning the most useless degree after women’s studies.

20. “Universities” should be restructured. REAL sciences should remain in the university concept and the fluff crap should be shoved off to some minor college level. The social “sciences” are tarnishing the real sciences.

21. First off race is too broad a term
    Is the straight white male too broad a term. It does not matter if you are a German, Irish, French, Polish or whatever ethno Euro white male you are. Which one is more evil than the other or are they all equally evil in the cultural Marxist theory of race.

22. Five bucks it’s the engineers. They’re always making things fun. I remember the UWO engineering paper. When it got canned (for explicit sexual content as well as hilariously funny other naughty stuff) the engineers were none too happy. Not a PC crowd those engineers. And over half of them were Chinese. I remember a lot of them crying during the English entrance exam. Ten bucks it’s the engineers.

23. There is no such thing as race. We are all stupid together. You can’t give away 50% of your genetic makeup in 1 generation and maintain a race. A clan maybe. If you can keep enough stupid people together long enough then yes, a clan. But not a race.

24. I don’t care what you do. Exercise your rights as you see fit. Just offering suggestions for a winning strategy. And from where I sit the problem is political, not racial — race is just a front. IMO.
