They used to tell us that the promise of 21 (or was it 12) virgins waiting for suicide bombers in heaven was what motivated them to kill themselves without fear! We now know differently!

Not hearing the 12-string guitar there, EBD, just a regular 6; but it’s a cracking recording, and no mistake.
Never heard it before now, so that’s another one I owe you, sir.

Given the present situation, with all the dynamics in play, what’s the stupidest thing I could say:
“Defence Minister Sajjan on Syria: Assad must go.”
“One capability is not going to take the fight to the enemy,” said Sajjan. “And talking to a lot of the different counterparts, the different ministers are very welcoming to the fact that we’re looking at making a meaningful contribution. When asked if Canada will commit more Special Forces to the training mission for Iraqi soldiers, Sajjan said he will leave those details to the chief of the defence staff.”
OK second stupidest, or third. Obviously our allies are very welcoming to our making a meaningful contribution by cutting and running, and leaving the issue of more special forces to the CDS. Anyway, we better run it by the Deputy Minister.
Putin’s not listening to anything we say, but now that he wants to work with us to get rid of ISIS, this is clearly the best time to piss him off. Maybe Justin could box him, or buy him a coat.

So many were funny that it’s hard to choose the funniest. Thanks for the laughs.
I believe Justin said he did, in so many words. Pretty hard to believe. Crickets from media, scornful laugh from Putin.
Well, it’s kind of a semi-12-string. Johnson, Leadbelly and Blind Willie McTell were probably the most famous 12-string players, but Lonnie Johnson was known for tuning the lower four courses in unison (i.e. not in octaves), so — and you can hear this most clearly in the lower-string runs in the opening figure — it comes across as a doubling (like two six-string players playing the same notes in unison) instead of the octave “zing” of a normally tuned 12-string.

“Update on El Niño: Gaia disappoints the climate activists”
“Summary: Climate alarmists have run wild with predictions about the “monster” “Godzilla” El Niño, a last throw of the dice before the COP-21 climate conference in Paris. Here is an example by Brad Plummer, with a little debunking. Gaia will have the last word about this El Niño. The latest forecasts of the major climate models suggest that it will disappoint activists.”
