Re: the latest guy, this time iin Oregon who killed a bunch of students. Two questions: did he spend any time in daycare as a child? Could there be a link between these shooters and ‘outsourced parenting’?

One of Justin’s talking points in the last debate was that we can do both the economy and the environment. While I agree with finding the right balance, I do not think it is possible to do both optimally. I keep wanting to ask Liberal supporters if Ontario is the example for “doing both”. I thought Nenshi could have helped calm the waters on the issue of niqab. Instead, he helps drive in the political wedge. Too many people are viewing this as an anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim issue. It is not. I suspect that many Muslims are supportive of the range of anti-extremist initiatives being taken by Harper. The left, however, seems to be going nuts over every issue. I think it is the apocalyptic left that is creating most of the problem here. All of the issues (niqab, citizenship, refugees) are things that most Canadians are willing to discuss rationally. I also believe that Harper’s positions on these issues are reasonable and balanced. That is why they have a lot of support.
