  1. If I were the Kurds, I’d hunker down for a bit, I have a feeling the Russian bombing will be indiscriminate.

  2. The US created ISIS, the US turned ISIS loose on the world, and the US armed ISIS. Time for someone else to have a go.

  3. Yes, cause Pax Americana worked out so well. The Russians at least have some strategic interests in Syria. I know lance and his interventionist buddies are keen to bomb everyone, everywhere but I have no idea what having ISIS or Al Qaeda in charge of Syria does for us. Cause that’s what will follow Assad. Or worse. Or maybe lance wants to bomb ISIS and Assad and Al Qaeda and all the other factions in Syria and Iraq so that we can have sophisticated, westernized intellectuals in charge. Like Assad.

  4. Now the Obama administration is saying that clearing American planes from Syrian air space is a good idea.
It will keep us from accidentally attacking each others planes…. HA..
How many frigging planes does the enemy have?
That we should watch out and not attack Russian aircraft thinking that it might have been an ISSL piper cub?
Obama is so full of shit his frigging breath stinks..
If Russia did attack American interests, what the hell is Bambi gonna do?
Putin knows he has Obama by the balls and doesn’t need to turn loose to look for a better hold..

Left Liberal Strategic Planning and its Consequences..
I have been looking for this to happen, and am enjoying every minute of it..

  5. Thanks Vlad. People keep talking about the moderate opposition as if such a thing actually exists. I suspect the reason that Assad has been having difficulties is that he wasn’t brutal enough.

  6. *
“Putin says the Kurds are on their side”
then why, pray tell, is vlad bombing u.s. backed rebels in homs and not isis terrorists?

  7. So we sent suspected terrorists to Syria post-911 to be “interrogated”. Last time I looked you don’t send your suspects to enemy nation. Then all of a sudden the powers that be decided a sunni pipeline carrying natgas to Europe had to go through Syria, a country allied with the Shia. Now the powers that be have decided Assad the big bad dictator has got to go because he backs the Shia pipeline proposal.

  8. I say let Russia have another Afghanistan. Let them expend their own blood and treasure in the region for a while. Which is sort of what Drew at Ace of Spades is saying here, no?

As ISIS turns on the very expensive installations Russia is setting up in the region, Russia will turn on ISIS in response. And we know they they will not be as soft and squishy about doing so as the West would be.
As for the refugees flooding into Europe now and to come, Europe will eventually take care of them, per Ralph Peters:

It’s going to be messy and it’s going to be horrifying. But it’s going to get done.
The best Canada can do here is to stay out of all sides of the genocidal purges to come and beef up its screening and admissions policies to ensure that any refugees that do come here are legit. And if that means that their eventual citizenship is perpetually conditional based on good behavior of the original immigrants and their biological and ideological descendents, then so be it.

  9. T he US created ISIS, the US turned ISIS loose, the US armed ISIS. Why the Hell do I think “US-backed rebels” means “ISIS”?
One of the things the Russians supposedly did in Chechnya was to dog a pit about 10 m deep, put a bunch of Chechyns in it, and then fill it in.
    Saves on bullets.

  10. Anti Assad elements that are not pro ISIS?
The Akbar Martyrs 5th Unicorn Cavalry is the only fit.

  11. I doubt this will affect Americas attacks as there are hardly any and 80% of the planes that do go out come back with 100% of their ordinance intact (a cute little goat tethered too close to the target!). I imagine the next batch of 50 freedom fighters America vets and trains will go to the front with MANPADs for their predictable “surrender/capture” by ISISISILIS or some other batch of ragheads that America/Saudi Arabia bred.

  12. No mention of who actually was attacked, only references to “moderate Syrian opposition”. What, all four of them? How did that $500 million work out for them?

  13. So that’s where Putin put Hillary’s Reset button. Do you suppose Obama can have it surgically removed
