I’ll be wiring my electrical panel in my house to connect the generator I currently use for the fifth wheel. Suddenly a wood stove or pellet heater for the basement may be in the cards for the igloo too.
It will only be a matter of time that you will need a special “green permit” in addition to any other required permits to install a solid fuel burning appliance. There’s enough municipalities out there, all too willing to waste more taxpayer money and create even more levels of red tape in order to fulfill their ill-conceived “green initiatives”(TM)

This is an excellent example of what happens when government gets involved in what should be a purely private venture, selling electricity to willing buyers. Government takes over, like the mafia, and inserts their interest instead of the “market” which is much too cruel to be trusted with this sacred mission. That’s why costs of public utilities are skyrocketing everywhere, to help the poor consumer against big business. Now big government and big labour will “take care of you.”
I’m surprised they don’t show up in Cadillacs, leather jackets and sunglasses to collect “their” money.

I have a gen set in the garage , it has a double male plug. can be plugged into an electrical box in the garage that is on the same side of the panel as the furnace motor .

A grid crash in the middle of winter lasting a week or so is sorely needed to shine a spotlight on the policy stupidity and the ignorance of the EPA. Preferably a major city when it’s – 20. Perhaps then people will understand that it’s self inflicted and did not need to happen. Death by over regulation is never pleasant but it’s a requirement if the country is to regain a semblance of sanity.
Make sure you go double FEMALE plug on the cord old son. You do not want to be walking around with energized prongs sticking out of a generator cord.
Remember, anything that -can- go wrong, -will- go wrong. It may not be you that has to plug it in, might be a neighbor, the wife, a kid, you never know.
