  1. If Harper calls it early then it has been shown the tax payer will have to fork out more $$$$.
I hope this doesn’t happen and Harper spends my money in some effort to game the system

  2. I’m not worried, just lemmi checkoff conservative once again on my ballot. the other clowns are just plain scary.
Harper has his flaws but is far better than the rest of the loons.
I personally wish he was further right, ie had the nutz to privatize the cbc, and challenge the system on health care by simply making it legal to have private health care and not pay or use the public system.
Start pushing back against the Marxism creeping into our country and yes completely shut down ALL immigration for 2 generations period.
And start stripping known terrorists/Muslims, and mosks of licenses and citizenship and dropping them off in the country they are most loyal too. ie green peace terrorist joins a flotilla to Gaza then they are dropped of to Gaza All possessions go to Christians yazidi people in Canada or Jewish or poor kids and families.
If you chant free free Palestine and blame Harper and Canada you get dropped of in Palestine never to return to Canada.

  3. Well every body will be playing ‘summer holidays’; so I wouldn’t expect anything until Sept.
Who’s going to engage in listening to the latest installment of frothy Harper Derangement Syndrome (HDS) via the Parliamentary Press Gallery (PPG) when they can be lolling about the lakes enjoying the sunshine.

  4. The important thing is to stop the public sector unions ad campaigns against the government.

  5. Anyone who believes the crap being spewed by PSAC and others is afflicted with terminal stupidity and would, in all likelihood, vote NDP regardless.

  6. It really is surprising how many Canadians are afflicted with HDS. There are also a lot that are living in lieberal and NDP La La land with NO idea where the money to pay for the promised utopia will come from.

  7. I thought the PSAC stop the “EVIL” Harper ad sporting the meat grinder and the STOP THE CUTS moniker hilarious.
The implication is that the “EVIL” Harper is putting PSAC members through the meat grinder a la Willy Picton…and “Bleeding Canadians”.
ROTFLMAO…almost as good as the ‘guns in your cities’ ad!
PSAC bringing a new level of ridiculousness to your riding!
Oh no we’re not electioneering…ha, ha, ha 🙂

  8. So basically the media wver willing to carry water for the left, is telegraphing that they don’t think the opposition parties are prepared to fight an election they’ve been aware was going to happen since 2011.
    Have I got that right?
Would this trepidation be based on a belief that the ndp though they may have a trove of leftwing policy, don’t have the photogenic leader that distracts voters from asking uncomfortable questions? And is it that the liberals, while blessed with the eye candy, hasn’t managed to get Leisuresuit Larry to congugate a proper response to softball questions?
    Yeah sucks to be them.

  9. If nothing else the speculation of an early writ drop has certain elfish CBC media types in a tizzy…fun to watch on twitter…

  10. “The Conservatives, who took power in 2006, face a tight three-way race in the fall vote against the left-leaning New Democratic Party and the centrist Liberals.” Hmmmm OK.

  11. Wish he would set up an announcement Sunday and cut the cbc and pull the plug at midnight aug 1

  12. Meh…flavour of the week…
This sounds a lot like the ‘Harper-and-Wall- will-scrap- senate” story from last week.

  13. First, the media were speculating for over a year he’d call the election date early.
Now that that’s dashed since he’s not gonna suddenly call the election to set election day itself a month early than legislated, now they’re going to speculate constantly about when he pulls the plug exactly.
I have no doubt he will pull it somewhat early, but we’ll probably be hearing boy-cried-wolf stories once every couple of days until they finally get it right just out of sheer luck, at which point the MSM pat themselves on the back.

  14. The CPC will do what any political party would do and that is call the election when it is most advantageous to them.
Since the CPC has more money than the other parties whose supporters are too cheap to donate I would guess the CPC will go early – especially as it limits the union’s spending.
    Early August for sure.

  15. Randy;
I’ve been hearing ads from a group calling themselves engage. Are you working for them?

  16. Is “engage” the group pretending that the federal government has something to do with administering provincial ‘Medicare’?

  17. Perhaps he is testing the patience of the electorate. Why make them tired of him as they now are tired of Trudeau and Mulcair? Let the parents enjoy their extra cash and Canadians languish in the summer heat. THEN he will move and remind voters that it’s either the French Betazoid or the ever-clueless, reluctant-to-bomb-ISIS Shiny Pony.

  18. If I’m not mistaken the new election law allows for $250K of media spending per party per day during the writ period. A longer writ would let the Conservatives fully unleash their war chest on both Shiny and The Beard.

  19. Lance;
Or, anyone else who knows something. I have an ASUS that came with Windows 8 and it went blackscreen on me yesterday. If I remember, you had a post a few days ago about the Win 10 upgrade that was coming.
Maybe my problems were only coincidence but???
    Any suggestions.

  20. ‘I don’t speculate, and I particularly don’t speculate on my own actions’
PMSH is going to make his opponents and the media look silly again, as usual.
It’s scary that a recent poll showed 66% want a change.

  21. Can you cite the source that indicates the reasons that a longer election period will necessarily cost taxpayers more money? I can see that Elections Canada will have to gear up to monitor the campaign earlier. It may or may not require additional days for early voting. I want to know more about this aspect.

  22. Let me take a shot at answering your question.
Candidates as well as the “Party” will incur election expenses. Under most circumstances 60% of eligible expenses are reimbursed by the taxpayer. A longer campaign allows increased expenses and increased reimbursement.
Keep in mind that all candidates and all parties are eligible for reimbursement, so if the opposition parties are outraged by the drain on the taxpayer, they could simply not apply for it.

  23. The moving finger writes, and having writ
takes 79 days to come to terms with it…
