  1. Don’t expect there’d be much of an argument from anyone except the two arseholes themselves.
But, the selection material isn’t very good wherever a Yank looks. With apologies to Tennyson…
    Arseholes to right of them, Arseholes to left of them, Arseholes in front of them. Volley’d and thunder’d;

  2. The top Republicans in Washington are either elected errand boys for the megarich
rent seekers who really employ them or junior members of that looters club on the
make. The Senate is especially freewheeling in that regard and party affiliation is
never a barrier to those who learn the ropes.

  3. Don’t know if this link is 100% accurate, but it sure has the ring of truth. As an addendum, in conversation with a DC democrat yesterday he pointed out that McCain was shot down shortly after he had oopsed and launched a missile of his aircraft, while on the flight deck of the USS Forrestal, killing dozens. All this shortly after his father began the cover-up of the attack on the USS Liberty by the IAF…family business I guess.

  4. Yeah, everyone knows Mossad, working on behalf of the Bilderberg Group, the Freemasons and the Rothschild family, was behind the Forrestal fire, the USS Liberty incident and the killing of a duck out there in Alberta the other day.

  5. I read Steyn’s column very carefully and, uncharacteristically, he seems to be hedging his bets here. It is clear that he considers McCain to be the king of the assholes. He calls Trump an asshole in a way that is sort of a backhanded compliment.
I would like to add that McCain is considered a hero mainly because he turned down an offer of an early release from his captors because his father was an admiral in the U.S. Navy and, as a consequence, spent an extra five years as a POW. McCain deserves the gratitude of Americans for his service and his suffering. But he deserves no extra gratitude and respect for turning down the offer of the North Vietnamese. He had no choice. If he has accepted such an offer it would have stained the McCain family’s military history and made him a pariah to the American public, for all time.
Furthermore, McCain’s military history, outside of being a POW, is one of a complete FU. The documentation of this is readily available.
Trump may or may not be presidential timber but, I think you would have to admit, he certainly has the right enemies.

  6. “In a world of lies, telling the truth becomes an act of revolution”…Or something like that.
Trump is sky high in the polls because he says it like it is.
Anybody that wonders if Trump is POTUS material still does not know who is currently in charge.
    DONALD TRUMP/ANN COULTER 2016!

  7. JJM,
Hell you left that list short and of course an update you and world is probably not aware of, it rained here this morning and the garbage collection yesterday was late and if that doesn’t prove that it was their fault well well it just has to be .. the VRWC and we know they are run by the Rothschild’s of which Kate is a secret family member.

  8. The political establishment hates Trump, because he is his own man, and cant be bought by anybody, except People like Gates, who he doesnt care about anyways.
Tell it like it is Don , clearly the career politicos cant stand real competition. Wait until Hitlery tries the same, unsuccessful tactics, that his GOP rivals are failing at miserably.
Telling the truth HAS become a revolutionary act. Love it!

  9. “The political establishment hates Trump, because he is his own man, and cant be bought by anybody”
How can you buy a man who got rich by declaring bankruptcy?
Maybe if Trump isn’t a stalking horse for Clinton, he’ll make America rich again the same way.

  10. ROMNEY!!! ARE YOU FREAKIN’ SXXTING ME?!?!
America is doomed,Republican voters have become masochists.

  11. Trump,Cruz,Walker,Jindal,West……oh oh oh , my goodness if Hilary get nominated you darn rights I want her to face Palin, or Fiorino OmG they will rip her apart they will eat her lunch.I love cat fights and that is what this will be. In all Honesty
    Trump/Cruz Trump/Walker Walker/Cruz Trump/West Cruz/Palin. Lots of really good candidates.
No Christie the fat ass, No to Bush. No to any establishment republican. I think Trum/Cruz wouldset the world right.

  12. The Republicans consist of social conservatives, fiscal conservatives, progressives, libertarians, anti free trade protectionists, populist centrists, and everything in between. No one candidate can appeal to a wide swath of that salad.
Trump is popular now for calling out the lack of rule of law with illegal immigration in a manner that ignores PC self-censorship.

  13. JJM, do you even have a klue why the Israelis aced the USS Forrestal????
and the gods of stupid were pissed because that joke Ron Paul did not throw his hat in the ring, so they called up the Donald Rump to be the GOP running joke. It’s a sad day when idiots like this think they are leadership material.

  14. Are you serious? Have you heard of Walker or Fiorina or Carson or Jindal? None deserve the epithet.
And it could easily be argued that Walker has had the most successful governorship of any US governor in the last hundred years.

  15. And have we all forgot about the aholes running here, and elected here, in Canuckistan?

  16. Trump is riding a wave of popular discontent and will soon start to drop down.Faced with a hostile press out for blood he refuses to back down which is refreshing. The republican party needs a shaking up and trump is that agent provocateur.I think Ted Cruz with Carly fiorena as vice pres would be an interesting team.

  17. Thank you for making the point about the offer made to McCain. It is tiresome to listen to McCain fanboys suggest that McCain turning down an early release was a near superhuman act. Even a POW who is not a spoiled child of privilege would hesitate to take such an offer as it would feel like breaking ranks with and abandoning one’s comrades.
Of course, if McCain had taken the offer, it would have fed right into Marxist propaganda regarding class privilege, not that McCain would ever think of anyone or anything but McCain in any circumstance.

  18. Steyn has touched on one of my favorite political topics, how John McCain is the embodiment of the amoral self-interested politician. If McCain were stuck in the Star Wars universe, he would spend most of his nights getting sauced in the Cantina.
McCain is dishonest. During the campaign of 2008, McCain emphatically claimed that he believed in the political vision of America’s founders yet he also insisted that the McCain/Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Bill was the Senate accomplishment of which he was most proud. For those who have forgotten, the M/F CFRB criminalized the free political speech which is supposed to be guaranteed by the first amendment. Add to that the fact that McCain routinely garners an enormous amount of free and very positive media coverage because he undermines any effort by anyone to slow the growth of government and McCain’s mendacity is clear.
McCain is dishonorable (some members of the military REALLY don’t like it when I write that). McCain’s military oath and his oath of office both require him to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution yet his political career has been built on vigorously assisting with the undermining of said glorious document.
McCain is disloyal. Since virtually all attempts to defend the Constitution’s limits on governmental power and scope come from within the Republican Party, McCain’s spends a great deal of his time stabbing his fellow party members in the back. Also, when Palin was receiving vastly more attention during the 2008 campaign than he, McCain at least sanctioned and perhaps even prompted the efforts of his own campaign staff to undermine Palin’s public image.
    Scum and villainy.

  19. Trump must be destroyed because he has single-handedly derailed the political class’s immigration narrative. Well, “derailed” is not the right word. More like he has switched the narrative track upon which the immigration issue was riding.
Just think how disruptive Trump would be if he switched the tracks of the race narratives, the globalization narrative, the “U.S. will be majority minority”* narrative, and the “America has embraced alternative sexual lifestyles” narrative.
*[Q: What do you call the grandchildren of Hispanic immigrants to the U.S.? A: White people. Don’t believe me? Does anyone think of the grandchildren of Italian immigrants as anything but white? Face it, the only way that the U.S. becomes “majority minority” by 2050 is if the Professional Left is successful in preventing the assimilation of Hispanic immigrants and history shows that preventing the assimilation of descendants of immigrants to the U.S. is very difficult because, darn it, being an American is just so super-great.]

  20. Palin’s take-down was engineered behind closed doors, in Jurnolist, a closed, leftwing, web site that was started Klein. They colluded to damage Palin. I’m no fan of Palins, but am totally against the media subverting democracy. (BTW; for those keeping track, Klein ain’t one of us gypsies:-)))

  21. Trump’s misguided attack on McCain’s war record was pointless.
Whatever you might think of McCain, the fact remains he is a Vietnam vet and was a PW under horrific conditions. What exactly is served politically by attacking that, I cannot fathom.

  22. I agree. The US does not have a monopoly. The sad part is that the Canadian people actually voted for McGuinty, Wynn, Dion, Notely, Mulcair, et al. The US people voted for Obama and may just vote in Hillary or a RHINO old boy Republican Party apparatchik.
    The media controls the narrative.

  23. The McCain campaign was part of the effort to trash Palin as well. Three examples 1)a leak from the campaign claiming that Palin thought Africa was a country 2)another leak from the campaign suggesting that the Palin family acted like a bunch of country bumpkins when they were given the chance to buy nice clothes for a campaign appearance 3)a Democrat member of McCain’s campaign staff convincing Palin to do the interview with Katie Couric by appealing to Palin’s sense of sisterhood.

  24. It has been standard practice for 30 years for McCain’s supporters to start yelling “he’s a war hero” every time legitimate criticism of McCain’s sleazy political activities are leveled. Since McCain is one of the Democrat Party’s most valuable assets in the U.S. Senate, the media always assists in the diversion toward the irrelevancy of McCain’s war record.
