Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Proof positive the ability to act is inversely proportional to ones level of intelligence.
So Clarence Thomas has proved that he is not ‘enslaved to political correctness’ and can actually put together some coherent thinking; rather than Mr Sulu’s space cadet rantings.
Bring back Dr. Spock at least he had searing Vulcan logic going for him.
Mr Sulu’s logic engine has failed him; and needs some time in the engineering shop.
Rather than warp speed we get warped logic…

That guy who once played a character called Sulu on TV once doesn’t care much for diversity of opinion.
There’s nothing in gayness that corresponds with intelligence. Takei had a bit part in a popular TV show but other than that he’s just another flaming fairy with a opinion. When he first came out of the closet I had a live and let live attitude towards the gay movement, but now I’m at the point where I find the whole movement disgusting. Loud, obnoxious , vindictive, petty and small minded seem to go along with having crossed wires in the brain. They still seem to rail at anyone who seems “normal” and won’t bow down to their achievements in gaining mainstream status or the rainbow flag. Equality in law will not satisfy them. Parades in their honor won’t satisfy them. Nothing will satisfy them until they achieve a special status that “normal” people can’t attain. They just have no idea what it is at this point, but I”m sure Hollywood and our education system is working on it.
I cannot recall disagreeing with Jim Treacher in his online rants. Sometimes I wish they were longer, that’s really my only critique.
If you can, visit Takei’s Facebook page. Read the comments of his supporters and you’ll see why it’s impossible to ever have an intelligent, reasonable conversation with a Leftist. They are sociopathic narcissists who still behave like three year old children with a temper tantrum.
Sadly, they’re in charge of our society right now.
Oh my! And Takei is just a fag in Nip-face.
Mr. Sulu’s phasers are stuck on “stunned”.
Here’s how Ace sees it.

I can rmemeber all the nasty things they said about Clarence Thomas and Annita Hills lies
Apparently Judge Thomas fell into the “dignity trap”. Dignity is not a legal concept in any way, shape or form, and should never be referred to in a legal decision. All it can do is to corrupt one’s judgment. It gets in the way of rights, which is what the law is about.
You stole my thunder nv53 – it bears repeating though – I suppose the “human dignity” which rainbow Sulu claims to need, does not extend to those who disagree with him – displaying once again the hypocrisy of prog-left agenda pimps.
I think Sulu is still suffering from not being correctly reassembled after that last teleportation to the planet Gerbillaunch.
The shoe is on the Gay communality to LOSE what they think they have won…If it is proven to be a divisive error the next trip to the SCOTUS will correct the mistake.
When you get your wish! It may turn into a nightmare.
“…Schlocky old show about spaceships”
Now that hurts my dignity.
Clarence Thomas appears to be a traditional minded man and so it is clear why Takei would denigrate Thomas.
And now, Takei has doubled down by calling Thomas a “black buffoon.”
I agree with Thomas that dignity is something that is within all human beings, no matter what circumstances we face.
It’s how you deal with your circumstances that define you as a human being.
Everyone has free will and can choose how to respond.
Bottom line, the state cannot impose dignity on those who choose to perceive themselves to be victims. Therefore, expect the whining to continue.
Whining about the whiners can only disrupt your own inner peace and, in itself, is a challenge to projecting a positive attitude. It opens up the criticism of being an ‘angry old man’ or some such other ridiculous portrayal.
Anyway, like in the Star Trek episode, the best way to deal with the dignity-challenged is to laugh them off.
I think we should look more closely into Mr Thomas’ words, besides the clear statement the state cannot take away dignity; but it should not be required to provide it either. Citizens have the right to pursue, not attain, happiness and their definition of dignity. That can never be required of the state because it’s a personal belief & attitude, like working hard, like loving your family, and must be outside the obligation of the state who helps provide the overall conditions for dignity. The US constitution gives rights which are narrowly/specifically construed, but general enough to keep its tenets alive and relevant in a changing & modernizing society.
Is gay marriage, for instance, a necessary part of liberty? If it is, then what isn’t?
Gay rights isn’t the problem here, the imposition of negative liberty for a political cause is. The SCOTUS seems to be confused in this regard.
Inferring rights into areas of “dignity” as in the gay marriage case are ludicrous regardless of one’s view on the matter. It’s a dangerous and expensive exercise for the judiciary to impose on government.
William Gairdner in “The Trouble With Canada,” said something like this, which he wrote during the Liberal years: “Wants become needs, Needs become rights, rights become claims against the state.”
If one good can come out of the SCOTUS decision may it please be to retire the word “partner” in all media stories involving gays? They have the same right to a govt approved marriage as a straight couple and if they are just unwilling to pull the trigger there are surely lots of better labels that can be applied than “partner.” Makes my skin crawl every time I hear it.
Was it not Perry Como who said, “Hot dignity, dog dignity, oh what you do to me”? He was prescient.
