  1. So he’s afraid of one student who filed a complaint because he ignored the student who spoke the truth on the wreckless way the Democrats dolled out subprime mortgages.

  2. Like Frankenstein, these guys don’t know what to do about the monsters they’ve created. There is a solution, though: fire everyone employed in education and start from scratch.

  3. Did not the French radical Jacobins guillotine he more moderates and then each other? Did not the radical socialist Bolsheviks wrest power from the moderate socialists and then execute them and finally under Stalin execute each other?
Socialists or the new not so liberal liberals are all the same. After they eat you they eat each other.

  4. The liberals need to learn that identity politics isn’t a bug in “social justice”, it’s a feature.

  5. I am amused that he focused upon the student’s misspelling in the complaint, rather than the complaint. Proper grammar and spelling are conservative ideas of education. If there are no conservatives in K-12 education (due to the long term effects of unionization), and no other options than the public school system, then it is no wonder kids are getting into college without being able to spell.
And the kid was partially correct. FMA and FMC had a lot to do with the subprime mortgage crisis, by underwriting so many sure-to-be-underwater mortgages.
    Pass the popcorn. It’s schadenfreudelicious.

  6. Notice the smug non-answer she gives her student about the subprime mortgages – i.e., “Everyone knows that’s wrong”. You’re stupid for believing that, and shut up. No need for facts here.
Then she and her director have a good laugh about it (“rolled their eyes”) – and forget the entire thing.
This is a university, we can’t be having any *education* here!

  7. I don’t remember these types of controversies in my landscape architecture courses. “Fruit Growing For Fun & Profit” on the other hand – whoa.

  8. The inclusion of Metis as First Nations was a Government decision (Indian affairs)that bypassed Democratic participation of all Canadians. The road forward needs to be defined.
The Statement by Beverley McLachlin that Canada is guilty of Cultural Genocide, without a proper legal argument (never came before the Supreme Court of Canada ) suggests she is delusional. The charge is nothing but slander. She is incapable of reasoned legal opinion. She needs to resign, or be subjected to a Class Action Lawsuit by all Slandered Canadians.
    BTW
All Children in Canada were required to be educated in English, except Quebec… All other cultures had to maintain their language/culture instruction outside the school system… Early 1900’s law of the land. The Indians were not exempt, nor did original treaties provide for Education…period

  9. The bottom line on this martinet political correct cleansing is that any truth that may remotely disturb or disrupt or conflict with the utopian narratives must be silenced – true fascist social policy – and who buys into this first, hook line and sinker? Why the enlightened pseudo-intelligentsia. PC kills thinking dead!
Pffft these losers couldn’t reason their way out of a greased condom. This generation of politically cleansed myopic robots will create an epic fail when handed the levers of power.

  10. The new Red Guard. Very similar to the old Red Guard, just a different location on the globe.

  11. This whine-bag bleated their concern more than once about how they risked being evaluated negatively for not playing ball. You feel that strongly about it? Don’t blog anonymously, grow a pair and have the integrity to resign.
I know right; not gonna happen. Even former leftards have no spine.

  12. I’m confused about the title of the piece. It wasn’t a liberal with a point of view that contradicted the teacher but a conservative who pointed out that Wall St wasn’t solely responsible for the economic implosion.

  13. I am content to know that all these ‘special and delicate’ little twats whose feelings are hanging out there like plums on a tree are going to have to go into the REAL world soon and their feelings will be crushed almost daily as they are forced to hear things and associate with others whom they will find absolutely terrifying, never mind uncomfortable.
This sort of insanity can only exist in an artificial and liberal dominate environment …. this cannot last forever … the wheel turns.

  14. The professor’s argument seems to be that liberal social activist teachers are stifled or are cutting the best progressive stuff out of their material because of fear of complaint. I call bs on that. He does have a point about the modern student’s indifference or lack of interest in attempting to reach a logical conclusion when presented with both sides of a question.

  15. So now even the professors have begun playing the victim card. The author can’t be himself in class because the students are oppressing him. Has he contacted his union leader?

  16. I have no sympathy. If these professors weren’t trying to smuggle their indoctrination into every damn class, they might have a point.
When I upgraded my degree a few years back, I had a newly minted associate prof fresh from his post-grad in the US, and in every class he slipped in at least one slam against then-President Bush and/or the Republican party. When I called him on it both in class and in his office hours, his defense was that as an American citizen he felt he had a duty to speak up about these “abuses”.
It was a class on programming algorithms and data structures. I told him if he didn’t knock it off and stick to the course syllabus I’d be having the conversation with the Dean. It stopped. No matter how ideological a university is, they know you don’t mess with the alumni donations.

  17. I look at what’s going on on campuses these days and hope that this is one of those “this too shall pass” things. But if things continue like this, I can see a future where every student taking a course is asked to sign a waiver indemnifying the prof and the school for anything they might experience or feel in any class.

  18. Liberals are idiots they come up with idiotic ideas that guns make people evil and mcDonalds makes people fat and so that want to ban all of these things and regulate peoples lives becuase liberlas run on a philoesphy of Big Goverment just like the nazis and communists did

  19. “I’ve lived it. It’s real, and it affects liberal, socially conscious teachers much more than conservative ones.”
It affects teachers of useless artsy courses much more than hard science. The guy should have been a Math prof – very few goofy opinions to be had there.

  20. LOLOLOLOL….He breed them and now he is scared of them. I could care less. The comments about his video not giving all the facts and his frivolous dismissal shows he is not a teacher but a spokes person for his beliefs. He actually stopped being a teacher a long time ago. Unfortunately we are now stuck with a large group of poorly educated people. Time to leave……..

  21. I for one do find it debatable that giving loans to poor black families caused that economic collapse/bust rather than crony capitalists (so not capitalist because of removed risk) and poor government (also due to removed risk using OPM$) being the “cause.” Obviously it’s more complex than both those factors.
A lesson here is not all “liberals” are comfortable with the neo Marxist machinations of the “progressives,” especially when confronted with its totality of leviathan governments, nanny statists and a counter-productive dictatorship of the proletariat and neo bourgeoisie.
We will see evidence of that in the upcoming federal election as the Grits are forced to move left to confront the peaking NDP vote, only to find themselves whipsawed as their moderate vote goes to the Tories, especially among immigrant communities &/or the 905 belt surrounding Toronto and other large cities. The Liberals now have a fight on their hands in all of what’s left of their former strongholds.
For this reason the recent AB NDP election will be a blessing in disguise for Harper’s Tories as they exploit the progressive blind spot that continually crushes the aspirations of lower income Canadians with job killing maximum minimum wage laws, increasing carbon and other taxation, plus ever more costly utilities and regulatory costs.
Harper has done more to help lower income Canadians have a better life through tax reduction and direct assistance measures than governments combined in the past 40 years at least. As the vote approaches, thinking voters won’t pull the whole picture together will be a costly mistake for both the NDP and Liberals who try to outflank each other with their “better” programs for the “middle class” (another Marxist anachronism) contrasted with the actual measures already implemented and currently benefiting all Canadians. Trying to divide Canadians along income lines is a big mistake for two reasons. The poor don’t stay poor and most people aren’t against the idea of making more money. None of them will appreciate being called greedy or racist or un-Canadian, or “polluters,” but this is precisely where the left will overreach in the next five months, as voters question how a moderate and pragmatic leader such as Mr Harper could be so evil or “extreme” or traitorous or other deranged accusations.

  22. Although one of the people who believe that banks being forced to issue sub-prime loans(anyone could get a sub-prime loan regardless of color) was the major cause of the Great Recession,
I agree with the rest of your post and think it’s was excellent.
