    If all of you liberal trolls that comment here can pull your head out of your you know where, will this finally wake you up to the bald faced fact that you’ve been voting for a brain dead party for the last 50 years! This is proof positive that we have too many politicians trying to run our lives. These dough heads would have died out long ago due to natural selection if they had to rely on their own ability to work for a living instead of surviving on their ability to con other dough-heads into thinking that they would take care of them. Keep going down this road knuckleheads and we’ll all be speaking Arabic before 2050.

    FORD told workers and notified the state of Michigan that it will lay off 700 workers, starting June 22. The decision affects 675 hourly workers and 25 salaried employees who make the Focus, Focus ST, Focus Electric, C-Max hybrid and C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid at the Wayne plant.

    Wildrose Party Leader Brian Jean won over voters.
    And Progressive Conservative leader Jim Prentice won the ire of every female in the room when he turned to Notley and said: “I know that math is difficult.”
    Combined with frequent interruptions between the two, and Prentice’s habit of mispronouncing Notley’s name — it didn’t go over well. Criticism of the PC leader exploded on Twitter.

    This has been going on right here in Saskatchewan, and for many years. Children who attend Francophone schools have the right to French busing. I know of one student who is 42 miles from her school, and rides the bus 84 miles every day. There are some instances where the parents were (are) paid mileage to take their kids to school using their private vehicles when an English school bus drives by their farm twice a day. The reason is simple–they don’t want their kids exposed to English.
    And trust me when I tell you that busing is just the tip of the iceberg. No government would touch this topic with a ten foot pole because the Francophone policies are usually based on Supreme Court Decisions. I’ve actually seen one school that had four students, staffed by two teachers and a janitor!! Gotta quit–my blood pressure is up!

  23. Yesterday on the 5pm CBC New Brunswick news they featured a story about a memorial service for dead elm trees. I tried and tried to find a direct video link but failed.

    As a side note: you may be aware of a popular computer game called World of Tanks. One of the most sought after awards one can earn in that game is the Radley Walters medal, awarded to players who in one battle destroyed 8 or 9 out of 15 enemy tanks. His name lives forever and even penetrated popular (sort of) culture.

  37. I am offended at the assumption that Prentice’s remark had special significance because the leader of the NDP is a woman. Would we have had the same response if the comment was directed to a male leader? Is it that we assume some level of truth when a female is involved? Now that’s insulting — not the remark, but the reaction.
