  1. Mr. Crowder is superb at cutting through the hypocrisy of leftists.
We have to remember, though, that hypocrisy, like lying, comes naturally to leftists and other assorted collectivists. They don’t even know or care that they are being hypocritical or that they are lying.
The end justifies the means, as a certain senior Democrat senator recently implied.

  2. Lefties are scared shitless of the savages, Christians not so much. At least not yet.

  3. He should have strolled into these bakeries, hand in hand with his affianced, to confirm the full tolerance of Islam.

  4. Proof positive of Liberal cowardice.
Not that it’s news or that it matters, or that they don’t know it already.
The loony left can only loose in the long run, it’s really all about the rest of us allowing them to take us down with them.

  5. Rick Mercer, call your office…think of how edgy and cool it would be to beard a muslim baker!

  6. I have been a Christian my whole life and for the life of me I can’t understand what my fellow Christians are getting so uptight about.
I believe in a God that created the entire universe of which we inhabit but a grain of.
I believe that his son died for my sins and by his grace I have been saved.
So that being my position, If I were a baked and was asked to bake a cake for a gay wedding I would have no problem in doing that.
The individual buying the cake is the one that will be answering for the decisions and choices he made in his life time, not me.
I am sure the God I believe in is more than capable of delivering the truth to this individual either while he is still on this earth, or 5 seconds after he passes from this life.
For God so loved the world (Including those that are lost) that he gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believeth in him shall not perish, but have ever lasting life.
So my advise to my fellow Christian bakers. Make the cake as requested, prey for the individuals that will be eating it, and let God determine how best to deal with them.

  7. Yeah well, I take a slightly different tack….
My all powerful deity, does not need my puny efforts to enforce his displeasure.

  8. Well that’s your view Kevin, and frankly it’s not far from my own. But I don’t think that’s really the issue. The real point is that the people that do not subscribe to that view, those that interpret things differently are not being allowed to do so, being bullied into submission to something they object to. That’s wrong imho. Just because your view of Christianity does not “jive” with theirs does not them wrong or you right, or you wrong and them right.

  9. Kevin, the real problem is with the state forcing people to violate their deeply held religious beliefs. One can read in the constitution about freedom of religion (as a fundamental right no less) but the state can via statute force people to violate those beliefs under threat of loss of property or liberty. As a free person in a free society a Christian might choose to bake the cake but under the current scheme one has no choice but to bake the cake or face the consequences. This is the problem.

  10. I disagree, the state can only try to force me to bake a cake if I refuse to do it when first asked. If I choose to bake the cake the state has no reason to attempt to force me.
That said, should the state try to force me to round up bakers that refuse to bake cakes, and shoot them, then I would refuse.
Nowhere in the bible does it teach that Christian bakers shall not bake cakes for gay customers. This, in my opinion is really low on Gods priority list.
And Zeppo….what is the deeply held religious belief that you feel is being violate?
If you are deeply troubled by a baker being asked to bake a cake for a gay couple, please
place your concerns in the hands of God and ask for his wisdom, and guidance to help you understand how he wants you to deal with this issue.
My experience has been that what you may hear coming back is “Be still and know that I am God”.

  11. Ah, but what kind of cake would you choose to bake? Would you be happy to portray Bert and Ernie as gay lovers? Or are you as one “passing by on the other side”? Ask yourself why these people aren’t visiting Muslim or Hindu or Sikh bakeries for their wedding cakes.

  12. Anyone remember that cake that was baked for a raffle in “The Help”? I see an increased interest in the recipe.

  13. My idea is to accept the work order and then set the cost astronomically high. Make a cake for 15,000.00 dollars with a 50% non-refundable down payment and then set a delivery date well beyond the wedding date.

  14. circular reasoning kevin. you may do as you wish. I for one consider myself to be a free man and would not bow to any coercion from homosexuals or government.

  15. Muslim baker huh? How about some bagels or a nice passover torte?
Immigrants see a need for a taste of the old country and open a shop to cater to that need.
Cakes decorated with a gay theme should be a no-brainer for some sharp entrepreneur.
    Too easy?

  16. Would one get into trouble for posting a sign in their business window that said “No terrorists allowed”?

  17. Kevin said: I disagree, the state can only try to force me to bake a cake if I refuse to do it when first asked. If I choose to bake the cake the state has no reason to attempt to force me.
The state will also not try to force you to recant if you sing paens about your political leaders. Perhaps you don’t understand individual rights and liberty. The fundamental right to religious liberty inheres in the individual, not the plurality.

  18. “Ask yourself why these people aren’t visiting Muslim or Hindu or Sikh bakeries for their wedding cakes.”
Because they aren’t trying to force their lifestyle on those people. Lefties don’t expect that kind of tolerance from non-White people, because Lefties at base are horrific snobs and racists.
The Gay Brotherhood wants to force their lifestyle on people who no longer exist. The Victorians. The last remaining Victorians are all over 114 years old. This news has not reached The Left, they aren’t big on Facts and stuff like that.
Deprived of their true prey, the Left targets odd Christian groups who insist that gayness is bad and gays can’t participate in Communion and stuff like that. Like the Catholics. I also think that they’re offended that most of us Straights just don’t dive a sh1t anymore, and two guys kissing on the street corner is as un-shocking as a dog taking a leak on a fire hydrant. They don’t like that. If you can’t shock the straights, what’s the point of being gay in the first place, right?
That’s why Steve Crowder is the only one visiting Dearbornistan to get a gay wedding cake. The Lefties don’t care about the Untermenchen. Its not about the cake, they’re just desperately trolling for a reaction to their provocations and its getting harder and harder for them to find a White guy who will bother.
    Starve the trolls.

  19. Zeppo….I understand rights and liberty perfectly. I have a right to bake the cake if I choose to do it, and I can relish the liberty that choice gives me.
I can also refuse to bake the cake, and I can relish the liberty that free choice gives me.
If I choose to bake a cake, and that is counter to your particular definition of rights or liberty, wouldn’t my capitulating to your definition of rights and liberty be the same as me bending to anyone else’s definition of rights and liberty.
I will decide when and where my rights and liberty are being abused, not you, or anyone else, will make those decisions for me. I would respect your decisions should it differ from mine as we each will reap the consequences of those decisions be they right or wrong.

  20. I can also refuse to bake the cake
No you can’t if you want to avoid state coercion (i.e. loss of property or liberty). This is the problem, as I said in my original post.

  21. Round and round we go.
Make what you will of the wisdom and instruction herein.
Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”
Go and enjoy some “Homemade”Easter cake.

  22. ‘Lefties at base are horrific snobs and racists’
    ….and cowardly.
They don’t go after Muslims who actually kill gays in some countries because that would require a fair bit of courage.

  23. Two words for this: EP IC!
i expect ham and cheese on that sandwich, Yasmin

  24. Kevin, we are on pretty much the same part of the spectrum— just b/c i have known a few homosexuals (all since died, btw) doesnt mean i speak on behalf of ALL, but the depravity of the few I knew had very few boundaries.
Imagine you are operating a family baking business, and the couple want something other than a dark-suited couple holding hands—how do i explain a panorama of coprophilia to my teenager?

  25. Bakeries, butcher shops, green greengrocers, and even super markets are not monopolies. PC does appear to be one.
If you don’t like what you see … move on … about 6 billion people do it every day.

  26. Just to clear something up, on my scale of important thing in my life gays rank pretty much right at the bottom.
Their choice in lifestyle is their choice, not my choice for them, and that is where the real problem is.
Gays floating into a bakery and asking to have a cake baked really is no big deal in the grand scheme of things. If the baker is going to have a serious problem with that request, he can do the charitable thing and hire an out of work baker that has no problem baking cakes for gays to come in and complete the order, I don’t think God would object to that.
The baker has no legal obligation to divulge the fact that he objects to baking cakes for gays, quite frankly that is no ones business but his,
The gays by the same token have no legal right to insist that they get an answer should they ask if the baker objects to baking a cake for them. He can simple tell them if they insist on asking him that question that it is none of there business what he does or doesn’t object to.
To quote a friend of mine ” you want a feakin cake or not, then you talk to my baker Guido he’ll do a good job for you. You don’t want to talk to Guido you no get the cake….forget about it!
    Have a great Easter.

  27. >Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”
You’re confused, kevin. You’re lifting that scripture out of context and abusing it.
The only Caesar in the current society that I live in is ME.
The government works for ME, they are not Caesar, I AM Caesar in this arrangement.
My member of parliament is MY representative.
My member of the Alberta legislative assembly is MY representative.
They are to represent ME, they are not Caesar… I AM.
They are MY employees. I am Caesar.
Insofar as these ‘representatives’ are representing a minority position against the majority interest they are breaking the public trust and any authority which a democratic process gives them to be a representative is therefore Null and Void.

  28. Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
You may want to clear up your own confusion before attempting to straighten mine out.
For my part, I’ll take Gods advice on this one until he tells me differently.

  29. This Easter Oz contemplate these words
“Originally man was made in the image of God, but now his likeness to God is a stolen one. As the image of God man draws his life entirely from his origin in God, but the man who has become like God has forgotten how he was at his origin and has made himself his own creator and judge.”
    ― Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Ethics .

  30. Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities
Kevin you are interpreting this incorrectly. This applies in the matter of worldly things such as motor regulations, taxes, building codes and such like. It gives no authority to governments in matters of faith and morals.

  31. Zeppo…. Morality is about right and wrong, and all laws declare one behavior right and the opposite behavior wrong. So the question is not whether or not we can legislate morality, but whose morality will we legislate, yours or mine?

  32. Kevin, your answer presumes that the government law is the final answer as to what is moral but this is not so. There have been many laws that are morally repugnant to Christians. Romans 13 is giving authority over worldly matters to secular governments. Faith and morals are God’s.
