All this being said, Monsanto and the like still deserve scrutiny for their constant legal shenanigans, such as harassing farmers for ‘stealing’ their crops when the wind blows seed across property lines.
Genetically engineering crops to be sterile so that people are dependent on buying new seed every year… The extinction of older, hardy strains in favour of high-output (but fragile) strains… The patenting of ‘life’…
There’s plenty of fertile ground (ha ha) for debate on the subject of genetic engineering, farming and law, but the Frankenfood paranoia overshadows everything. It’s very much like how the Climate Change scam eclipses real environment and pollution issues.

that erode the profitability for the farmer.

“far less friendly to the environment” probably means some loans will go to practical projects instead of the expensive and inefficient “green” stuff pushed by Progressives. It’s also another major failure for Baraq Obama.
This could have been titled “Let them eat LESS cake”… OR, How your donations to Green Peace help kill 3M people per year.
