Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants bulldozed early Saturday the ancient city of Hatra founded 3rd or 2nd BC by the Seleucide Empire, activists and Kurdish media reported.
Spokesman for the 14th branch of the Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) in Ninveh province Saeed Mumuzini told Rudaw news website that “ISIS militants used buldozzers to destroy Hatra city.”
“ISIS stole the ancient gold and silver coins, which were used by the Assyrian kings and were stored in the city,” Mumuzini added.
Hatra is located 80 kilometers south of Mosul, and is currently a district in the northern Iraqi city, which was seized in a lightening offensive by ISIS militants in June last year.
That was a time now referred to as “the Bush years”.
No worries this was obviously accounted for when the western Liberal intelligencia modeled their “Arab Spring” – to – Middle Class social engineering forecasts.

As to historic artifacts, the U.S. didn’t give 2 shits about pounding thousands of year old European cities to rubble with aerial bombers and field artillery in WWII. We today shouldn’t care either.
What we should care about are intellectual and spiritual values that transcend these material artifacts. Values that represent a civilized future, not a brutal chiselled-in-stone past.

This is a battle for the future of our liberal-democratic way of life, our civilization, not for relics of civilizations past where slavery and servitude were the basis of the economy and culture.
