It’s as though people don’t much care what he has to say. It’s as though
politically involved Canadians view Trudeau, not as a question–Is he ready?
Is he proposing interesting things?–but as a statement, a kind of totem.

In general, but in one part for the election debate, they are now going to set the bar so low for Trudeau, that when he easily surpasses even that, they will say that exceeding expectations is a prelude to a shift in momentum. Voila – one media created “narrative”.
These Media Party hacks don’t fool me for a nanosecond.
I seriously doubt that Justin would even be MP were it not for the ‘wet pantie brigade’ drooling and dreaming of their swoon days in 1968. Anyone thinking north of their waistband will likely vote for someone else unless of course they are a bale of hay liberal voter. In other words they are so brand loyal they would vote for a bale of hay if it had a liberal banner on it.
Dead on. And Polly Wells will be the first one saying it.
“Polly Wells” love it thanks Jamie…..
That was a pretty vacant article from MacLeansss, probably why I stopped subscribing years ago.
A pretty vacant puff piece for the stumbling Very Vacant Spawn of Pierre..
If the patterns of the last two elections hold, the media parties anointed one will come in 4th as expected.
Once the election starts I expect Just-In to actually gain a sympathy vote, once the conservatives and NDP start playing all those”In his own words” adds.
The bleeding hearts will feel compelled to support such a defenceless twit, who is getting hammered so easily on every front.
Wells from MacLeans puts out a puff piece to cover their butts when Harper tears them a new one this fall. How do you stay relevant when you pick the wrong horse campaign after campaign?
As the campaign intensives Wells will resume his mouthpiece message for Turdeau.
Last Tuesday Wells graced our city with his presence. Being originally a homeboy, all the folks gathered to hear him expostulate on all things political. Meetings were cancelled etc in order for folks to hear what he had to say.
I was asked if I was going to attend. My answer- “I wouldn’t walk across the road to hear that prick.” I stand by my comment.
A totem?
Short for totem of pretentious insincerity.
Yeah you could say the media is setting the bar low so that Leisuresuit Larry can exceed expectations.
Or
You could say the media is sending a warning shot to the liberal war room in the face of what’s become blindingly obvious to all but the most partisan trudeau supporters. They won’t be polishing anymore turds for Leisuresuit Larry.
Did Paul Wells just admit his column is not widely read:
The column was widely read and shared on social media, but I’ve seen no attempt to rebut its criticisms
A “puff piece” for Trudeau? Am I reading the same column?
I enjoyed this bit from the other column he linked to:
The media has always known that JT is an empty suit. This column changes little.
If you are a Conservative that believes that Justin will ‘go down for the count’ in the debates, you are wrong.
Justin only has to show up and he has likely won. The worst he can do, is for the debates to be called a draw, no one delivered a knock-out punch, nobody gained ground, etc.
The fight is rigged. The fix is in.
The media ‘consortium’headed by the CBC will run the debates, and declare the results. Short of Justin showing up waving around a crack pipe and referring to Putin as ‘that Poutine guy’, he has won.
It does not matter if it was a fair fight or not. Neither the ‘consortium’or PMJT will be calling for a do-over.
The shiny pony must be gelded before the debates. If the Libs are still running close to the Conservatives in October, we are screwed. Anything less than a Conservative majority will be disastrous for Canada. The Libs and NDP will form a coalition faster than you can say ‘deputy Prime Minister Thomas Mulcair’.
Be afraid, be very afraid.
We always called them “fence-post Liberals”…..
I grew up in a neighbourhood of them…..they were not Canadians, Scots, Christians nor farmers….they were Liberals…..no knowledge of policies nor platforms…..their only identity. Total, unswerving, loyalty to the brand…..
