  1. Michael Brown’s parents “spoke to the United Nations Committee Against Torture in Geneva, Switzerland (on Tuesday)” and requested that the UN panel immediately “arrest…Officer Darren Wilson.”

The child will likely die because she is being treated by a charlatan.
But hey, those who don’t really care about her scored a victory. Next up … ‘traditional’ healing methods will be covered by our traditional tax dollars.

I remember reading about the Russian radioactive rust buckets back in the 80’s, before the end of the cold war.
Not an easy task to recover a reactor!

  4. wallyj: Re: The infinite wisdom of the judge.
I guess Canada operates under two sets of laws. Most people are aware of a recent Federal Court decision against our Conservative government for cutting back on medicare benefits to certain refugees. According to Jason Kenny (who was Minister of Immigration when the cutbacks were introduced in 2012) certain refugees (AKA bogus refugees) arrive here with specific intentions of obtaining free health care from Canada. Health care that is unavailable to Canadian citizens such as free eye care, dental work etc. The benefits that the Canadian government was cutting back on were not those that are accorded to bona fide refugees who arrive for valid reasons.
In July 2014, Federal Court Justice Anne Mactavish wrote in her a 268-page ruling that the cancellation ”shocks the conscience and outrages Canadian standards of decency” and ordered the government to reinstate the funding.
Yet today, a Hamilton Ont. judge ruled that it is unethical to force a young aboriginal girl into chemotherapy, and based on the fact that first nations have the right to perform traditional cures in lieu of modern science. In his decision, the judge overruled the doctors who have stated that the child will die without chemo. (See wallyj’s link to that story.)
This is my question. Why is it unethical to cut back on health care for refugees who arrive here from foreign nations, when indeed their intentions are not to seek refuge but to obtain free medicare, yet it’s ethical for our courts to risk the lives of our own Canadians and all in the name of aboriginal rights? I would appreciate feedback on this matter.

  5. Heck if I know.
But if you look further into the young girls story…
The ‘traditional’ medicine is at a treatment center in Florida that consists of; ” Aqua Chi Ionic Footbath, BioEnergy Field Intervention and The Power of The Mind in Getting Well Program™. ”
    That doesn’t sound very traditional.
The treatment center, well … “According to the Florida State Health Authority, Hippocrates Health Institute is a licensed massage establishment. It says Brian Clement is not a licensed doctor or naturopath.”
A critic speaks of the doctor’s qualifications … ” I could have printed him a degree on a laser printer and it would be … just as indicative of training and skills. What I think is terrible is that he`s using this, as I understand it, to treat patients who are desperately sick children.”
However, none of that matters to the activists or to the judge.
BTW, the judge, Justice Edward, grew up in Brantford and is a member of the Six Nations band.
Nothing to see here folks. Two native children being used by their people and they will likely die soon.
May as well add their names to the list of “missing and murdered” aboriginal women, a win-win situation, unless you are one of the children.

  8. “Harper Uses Handshake to Tell Putin to ‘Get Out of Ukraine’”
“Russian President Vladimir Putin got a blunt message when he approached Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper for a handshake at today’s Group of 20 summit in Brisbane, Australia.
“I guess I’ll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you: you need to get out of Ukraine,” Harper told Putin,”.
““Indeed Harper told Putin that Russia should leave Ukraine,” Peskov said by phone today in Brisbane. “Putin told him that this is impossible because they are not there.”
Asked about the tone of the meeting between the two leaders, Peskov said “it was within the bounds of decency.”

Obama is a progressive politician. He went to Harvard.
He knows more than anybody else — and especially all those millions less intelligent than he — what is good for them. So with the smug, righteous and callous authority of the progressive, he was more than prepared to deceive those who elected him … and place his head on a soft pillow each night with the soothing thought, that — after all — he was lying to them for their own good.
And who could know better than them what they really wanted but he himself?”
