  1. Low voter turnout hurts Democrats, historically. Once the midterm elections are over, watch CNN go full on Ebola.

  2. These health care professionals need to be jailed for reckless endangerment, if they survive.
If they are as careless in Africa as they are here its no surprise they are infected.

  3. What the hell are ebola doctors recently departed from West Africa doing frolicking around the most densely populated island in the Western Hemisphere? Is almost like they’re going out of their way to infect the country. It’s almost like they have a Cloward Piven strategy for ebola.

  4. Now the Obama apologists have the sorry task of convincing a doubting public that even though Ebola has infected medical professionals wearing personal protective equipment it is no threat to the rest of us. The point, of course, is to cover Obama’s ass for not lifting a finger to prevent Ebola’s appearance in the US.

“Low voter turnout hurts Democrats, historically.”
Yep….public safety be damned….the donkeys got priorities.

  6. What? no worries.
The government has it all under control..
Some of the sick and bleeding are dispersing.
Lawrenzi said that shortly after the arrival of patient zero – Thomas Eric Duncan – in the United States, he was told by a doctor at Truman Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City they had taken in a possible Ebola patient who had a high fever and was bleeding out of all his orifices having recently returned from West Africa.
The following day, Lawrenzi was told by the doctor that the patient had “disappeared” against medical advice, but that he wouldn’t have been able to leave on his own given his medical condition.
    Don’t worry, be happy..

  7. loved the dr. seuss reference. please ignore the spelling. ebola presents a real danger and for anyone to dismiss that as it has been puts more people at risk.

  8. What the heck happened to common sense? A doctor and a nurse who have been in contact with ebola which has a 50-70% fatality rate have gotten onto crowded transport with dozens of other people. If you have the flu, you stay home, if you have been in contact with ebola you don’t go visit your parents or use mass transit.

  9. Here’s what I want to know.
What exactly is the downside for the government from instituting quarantine for all travelers from the hot zone? Because it seems to me that they are going to very great lengths to avoid taking the only step that will protect the country.
I’m wondering what could be worse for a sitting government than an outbreak of a fatal communicable disease in a crowded city. Particularly one that could have been prevented by putting a few travelers up in a hotel for a month. I can’t think of anything.
I mean, even losing one election is better than having your entire party forever branded as the one that let Ebola run loose in New York City. Where’s the advantage in that?

  10. Al, you over-estimate the amount of common sense possessed by some medical professionals.
Some doctors of my acquaintance think proper infection control is for lesser beings than them, nothing could -possibly- happen to them because they are just that awesome. Not all. But some.
Some nurses are just dumber than a bag of hammers. Not all, but some.
Don’t forget, there’s an overabundance of liberals in the medical biz. Our medical establishments in Canada are full to bursting with the sonsabenches. New York is Liberal Mecca of course, the very Wellspring of Stupid, as it were. And they are just as mental as one would expect.
That’s the major reason I’m The Phantom on the intertubes. Stupid commies who wouldn’t shrink from a bit of covert backstabbing and career destruction if they knew my name. Not my career either, they’d go after my friends. That’s how they roll.
I don’t practice here in Canada. Because = liberals. Stupid is bad for my liver.

  11. One solution.
It doesn’t take well-educated people like doctors and nurses to feed, wash, change and generally comfort people who are sick with Ebola in Africa.
The people that have survived Ebola are the best ones to now care for the new patients of Ebola. What they need is to be found, trained and well paid.
While these people can work with the sick, without the burden of personal protective equipment (very frightening appearing) they must not bring the contamination from the sickroom to the outside world.
So, the most important training needs to be in matters of infection control.
These people have probably already lost beloved family and friends, not to mention a way of making their own living, and are now often shunned by most. And yet they can have the biggest affect on getting Ebola under control.
So they need to be found, treated with respect, trained and paid (well-paid) for their immeasurable contribution to the well-being of the rest of the population.

“I mean, even losing one election is better than having your entire party forever branded as the one that let Ebola run loose in New York City. Where’s the advantage in that?”
Progressives and lefties are people in a hurry….it’s a constant trait….that’s why they killed 100,000 in the 20th century. They can’t wait….they won’t wait…..everything is about power and retaining it…..now.
Death tolls are irrelevant to them.
Escaping blame….not a problem….they will just blame Bush or somebody….
They will never say….”I don’t know.” but say “It’s not my fault” constantly, regardless evidence.

Their Plan A used to be radical population reduction via denying the necessities of life, privation, with the Global Warming program as their spearhead.
Their plan is still to reduce the world from several billion to about 500 million people. Most of us are here for each other, working for and serving each other, not the elites. They see us as using up their resources on their earth. We were once necessary but now they no longer need us.
Global Warming has run out of steam, Ebola is Plan B.
Don’t forget these elites have NBC shelters that they can sanctuary in and emerge from a couple of months later while the rest of us die a horrible death.
The next election or two? Pfft!

  14. It does seem like that, doesn’t it? Some doofus made the calculation that an outbreak can’t get too bad before November 2nd, and if it spreads after that they can just blame the Republicans. A couple thousand/couple million Americans die, they were probably fat ugly peasants anyway.
And people are afraid of terrorists. HA!
Well, we did warn them this would likely happen when Obama won the DemocRat nomination in 2008. Just sucks to be right, I guess.

  15. What is the biological purpose of Ebola? Ebola protects Western Colobus monkeys from over-predation by chimpanzees when their habitats become unstable. In turn, Ebola spreads from chimpanzees to humans when humans encroach on chimpanzee habitat.
In short, the way to end Ebola is not by coming up with a vaccine. The way to end Ebola is to stop encroaching on chimpanzee habitat.
