Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Same scenes here in southern Alberta…great viewing time of year.
yep, it looks like outside my house, also in SK.
Beautiful fall weather. Can we keep it until March?
Nice photographs Kate!
I note the frozen pond. We had to scrape the car windows this morning.
Where’s my global warming?!!!
Great photos of a beautiful seasonal time of year.
The sky in western Canada is so expressively large that one can take beautiful photographs at any time of year.
Nice! You should paint that, Kate!
These are spectacular pictures! I live in small town Alberta so we can see this type of sky often. Thanks for sharing.
When a painter, especially one who might not originally be from the prairies sits down to draw their first pictures the quality of the light is the thing they notice; always sharp and clear.
Fab light in the top photo Kate. Good eye. Dark, gun metal clouds, with lovely warm sun on the foreground. The best light conditions we see..happens only a few times per year.
Yeah, I agree with Ken. I am POed at Montana for the motto, “Big Sky Country” ☺ I want that motto….used in in photo titles a few times.
We are so lucky to be here. I guess we live sheltered lives here out in the plains..I hope it stays that way for a long time.
I have a “pen pal” in TO and she marvels at the scenery and opportunities here for photos.
Thanks again!

I’m jonesing for hunting now.
How are the deer Kate?
Damn I miss be out west…and not only cause I had to mow the lawn today 😉
Re: Photo of cattails.
I always thought that the down that came out of ripened cattails could be used to make insulated vests and jackets.
Great photos!!
Should be a great goose and whitetail season. Time for the wild harvest. See ya there.
The top one is striking. If you crop the bottom 10% or so off, you could then compare to the most expensive photograph ever sold (google it and see what I mean).
