  1. My new hero for three reasons;
He drinks 14 bottles of wine a day.
    He urinates in the aisle.
And he told France to go screw themselves when they imposed a
    75 percent tax rate.
    I’ll drink to that!

  2. Yeah well he is not the stereotype effite Frenchman…..he lacks class but certainly has style…and an attitude….
    I’ll miss him…..
    C’est la vie.

  3. Yeah, but in France you can buy 14 bottles of wine for what it costs you to buy one here in Canada so really it’s like he is only drinking one.

  4. He thinks he never gets drunk because he has been drunk for so long he doesn’t remember what sober feels like.

  5. I enthusiastically certainly agree with the third reason. Little doubtful about the first two.
Minuteman, exactly. I do not know about the price of wine in France, but you can get what I consider great wine in Austria, Switzerland, and Hungary for two dollars and change.

  6. I can’t remember who said: “The worst thing about quitting drinking is waking up and knowing that’s the best you’ll feel all day.”

  7. I’ll say one thing for Gerard, he may be a professional pisstank pretender but even in that state he won’t pay 75% tax…

  8. The Socialist dream is to hold power in all countries, so that you can tax people into slavery with nowhere to run.

  9. Good for him. I wish I could drink 14 bottles per day. Given the absolutely absurd prices charged for wine here in BC, 14 a day would bankrupt me if it didn’t kill me first!
I thought his acting in Jean de Florette was brilliant.
He is a man with some balls – they are a very endangered species at this point.

  10. He is a hero for leaving France because of socialist taxation and mostly because he pissed in the aisle of an Ari France Jet liner. We need a lot more like him to help rid us of political correctness … that is a greater problem than alcoholism. And by the way Mr Galt …. Alcoholism is not a disease, it is an addiction … calling it a disease takes blame away from the alcoholic … see .. that is what I am talking about when I say political correctness is the greater problem.
No one cures an alcoholic … they decide to stop drinking and they get better … no medical services required.

  11. “Alcoholism is not a disease, it is an addiction”
Depends on what drives the addiction, it may just be “genetic”. And then it may also depend on your definition of disease. So, they are “looking” for a medicinal cure for some addicts, just as they are looking for antibiotics for some cancers.

  12. I first read that story I was astounded.
However, thinking on it I’m gonna call bullshit.
If you drank that much water in a day you’re risking, at the very least, hyponatremia as your body starts flushing sodium out of your system.
So, drinking 10 & a half liters of wine a day seems like a significant strain on your system notwithstanding the alcohol you’re taking in.
Maybe someone can correct me here but, sure, you can develop a tolerance to alcohol but I don’t think you can develop a tolerance to fluid intake. Not at those volumes.

  13. He gave the finger to the Hollande government. That makes him a lot clearer in his thinking than its deluded supporters, regardless of his wine intake.

  14. ofaycat, great point! Alcoholism is indeed not a disease,
just as gayness is not genetic. These are chosen behaviors.
And tonight, I am going to choose to slurp down a few 24’s.
The problem is that young John Galt (AK North of 60) has no
talent or knowledge that he does not cut and paste from
    liberal pseudo-science websites.
As to drinking, imagine being on a night crew working a shut-
down at a New Mexico paper mill. After working our asses off
for 12 hours, we would hit the liquor store and load up on
beer, whisky, vodka, you name it. Now imagine 20 or more
Millwrights carrying their booze into the dining room of the
hotel to scarf down some free breakfasts.
To the poor citizens, we must have looked like a small
army of AA dropouts. After that, we went to the hotel
bar and did some real drinking while the bartender played
my Frank Zappa, Grateful Dead and NRPS CD’s.
What a life that was! With all the great industrial trades,
    you will find great drinkers.

  15. America’s Hat >
“However, thinking on it I’m gonna call bullshit……….So, drinking 10 & a half liters of wine a day seems like.”
Airline bottles are not that big.

  16. America’s Hat, you’re right that drinking that much water would be harmful, but – assuming you’re an alcoholic with the concomitant tolerance for ethanol – (non-hard) booze is different because it’s a diuretic. If, for example, Oliver Reed drank 57 litres of water in a day, instead of beer, he’d have been dead…a lot sooner.
I once knew a (very, very large) lawyer who could drink an awful lot more beer than than he ever could have safely consumed in water.
I’m no doctor, though. Maybe loki can weigh in on this one…

  17. Black mamba, there absolutely no doubt in my mind that he
is indeed North of 60. I noticed the similarity a few days
ago. I was hoping to wait until I saw his opinions of PV
panels, but he confirmed his identity within 24 hours when
he responded to someone who disagreed with him with North of
60’s trademark Sierra Tango Foxtrot Uniform.
These trolls try to impress everyone with their superior
intellect by cutting and pasting from Internet sites info
(especially on the subject of science) that they do not have
the slightest clue about. Would anyone that brilliant change
his identity and be so monumentally stupid that they would not
stop using the one insult that would identify him? One would
if one were a poser and a dilettante like North of 60.
This brain dead kid would not know a Watt from a Joule, or
a Volt from an Amp, and yet he lectures people who do about
Photo voltaic Panels. It really is sad!
PS his entire shtick is pretending to be a conservative and
then arguing his points with links to liberal and warmist
web sites. John Galt indeed. If you are going to change
your identity it is best to avoid using trademark language!
People are laughing at you North of 60.

  18. Okay, I’m yanking the trophy out of your hands and giving it to Leonard.
You have enough trophies here anyway.
