   In the spirit of good sportsmanship, maybe Prentice should offer one of the planed to Redford.I mean, how is the woman going to go anywhere now?
   If you are REALLY going to do politics differently,JP, how about an inquiry into High River and the RCMP gun thefts?

   FYI: all the push behind the license plate change came from the people who think they profit from camera tickets – because the new plates would have incorporated new nanoglass bead tech from 3M intended to reduce losses due to unreadable, or arguably so, photos taken in low light or through obstructions like mud.
   So good riddance – but expect the old plate to be changed to a new mfg process any day now…

5. Redford was so, so bad at that job….
   Still, for as good a man as Prentice is, the problems with the Tories go far beyond Redford and her circle of cronies. The rot is deep and I am skeptical that it can be fixed by anyone at this point. There are just so many entrenched interests – not sure how you dislodge those without throwing the bums out.
   Probably time to let the next set of washed out lawyers, used car salesmen, lobbyists, career political hacks and third-rate academics have their turn at the trough.

6. Prentice is quite possibly even further to left than Redford is.
   He has as his two key advisors a red mayor of Edmonton and a former LIBERAL finance critic.
   He has zero time or respect for the grassroots already parachuting the two above into bye elections.
   And he is announcing. All policy decisions with zero party consultation. A top down corporate elitist not too far from Justin Trudeau.
   Same as it ever was…

8. Alberta’s elephant in the room is the unelected entrenched bureaucracy. Bloated, soulless, autocratic and feigning authority over everybody while being responsible to nobody.

9. It is a start.
   Alison’s first display of progressive idiocy was to lower the legal limit for intoxication to .05.
   Apparently she was worried that a person who had two beers would rear-end her daughter’s plane.
   If Prentice repeals that legislation, I may consider voting for him. If Danielle says she will do it, she has my vote locked up.

13. Talked to a guy than knows, was in caucus with Prentice.
    Asked, what’s the deal:
    Prentice quits cabinet for a job that pays $400K+.
    Then quits that job to take one that pays somewhere less than $300K.
    Some judge recommended that premier of Alberta should be getting some $330K in future.
    The guy said that there is more to what Prentice is aiming for. That would be the top job in Canada.
    Now there is nothing sinister about that. That is simply the ambition of Prentice.
    If he does well for Alberta, he may do well for the whole country.
    However, as is always the case, the ambition of one province is rather simple, in relative terms, compared to the ambitions of many provinces and Canada’s place in the world.
    This is the thinking of your correspondent with some solid information from a knowledgeable party.
    The guy also said that Prentice is of the same branch as Redford.
    That remains to be seen. Right now Prentice is cleaning the stable.

Prentice is the perennial red tory – been around the edges of power forever but never got the leadership ring – what the hell, why not, Alberta elected an Ottawa-connected liberal (Stelmach), a UN agenda 21 communist(Redford), why not a home grown liberal in PC clothing – how bad can it get? Ask the residents of High River if this crap would have happened in a Lougheed era of freedom, growth and self sustainability – speaking of which, what ever happened to the heritage trust fund? Loaned out to fellow liberal and Dipper provinces to shore up their deficit budgeting by “PC” kleptocrats?

15. Considering Lougheed buckled under to Turdeau’s NEP I would not be surprised if he accommodated anything along the lines of what happened in High River. Alberta has talked a tough fiscal style government but delivery has been pretty weak. I see the entire country elbowing into the Alberta oil trough.
