The UN and its pet crap-holes such as Palestine, are a proxy for the multi-culti nihilism of the highly delusional institutional left.     Wondering here if:
    1) UNRWA did find these rockets while regularly inspecting the premises in the middle of this ongoing conflict and then tell Israel about it
    OR
    2) Israel knew about the rockets and notified UNRWA that if they didn’t take these munitions out of the school they were going to level the school
    I favour option number 2.

  13. I’ve saved this for a few years, because it was written on a political forum by an ex-military man from Texas who was serving at that time, and it explained some of the questions regarding the S.S. Liberty. This is what he wrote:
    “I don’t claim American innocence- starting about a hundred years ago America began a Progressive sort of political theology which draws us further and further away from our Constitution and the desires of American citizens to live in Peace and spread Democracy and Justice across the world.
    The machinations in Iran exemplify such doings- but Iranians cannot ‘blame’ us, they sought to pursue agendas against each other, we merely facilitated that which they desired to do. I wouldn’t have handled it so, but the world’s leaders did- kinda like Xerxes doing what Persia did to all those other lands, if you want some perspective outside your agenda or personal goals.
    Ok, the U.S.S. Liberty. Yes, Israel did attack her.If you have bothered with an honest accounting of that you know Israel was attacked by her arab neighbors and unconditional war was waged by several arab nations against her.You know Egypt initiated the war by closing the Straits of Tiran, forcing the U.N. out of it’s peacekeeper positions established after the first arab aggression in ’48 and moving forces into the Sinai as other arab armies moved from other points of the compass against her out of Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.
    It wasn’t a complete surprise tho- just as the Soviets helped the arabs so too America helped Israel, and the arab forces were known to be massing.
    So President Johnson or someone very high up decided on a covert operation, get an intelligence platform off the coast for what was at the time real time information.Israel is so tiny that delays caused by time and distance was unacceptable, the arabs could easily over-run her in a day or two if things went wrong.
    So the Liberty was ordered to Naples where she loaded ‘special’ communication equipment and intel electronics along with techs to operate it. The crew of the Liberty did not know what the mission was- no one did outside a very few in Washington. But she sailed into the waters which had been declared as a war zone, acknowledged as such by all the maritime treaties, SEATO and the U.N. even.
    Johnson had personally assured Israel no American vessels or planes, no presence at all, would violate those waters without prior Israeli notifications. This was done because Egypt was receiving Soviet help, and Israel needed to know how to separate the wheat from the chaff in a hot war zone.So, any vessel not an Israeli was ipso facto an enemy.
    Ok, Egypt had Israel hurting at first, even tho Israeli planes struck decisively and gained her some time.As Israeli forces were fighting along the coast they were taking shell fire from Egyptian guns, and it was noticed a ship was out there.It had to be an enemy, right? Still, Israel phoned Washington, and asked- nope, that ship was not ours.
    So Israel turned her Air Force loose, and being efficient Israelis they did a fast attack.Our American Flag was even noticed flying on the ship, so after the first attack they again called Washington, asked again. But Johnson or whoever ran the very black op denied her yet again, and even tho the Israeli pilots verified our Flag, Washington told Tel Aviv she wasn’t ours. Soviet or Egyptian false flag mission maybe? Israel didn’t know, but we assured her it was not ours.
    Must be an enemy, so the attack continued. But the pilots weren’t convinced and as the patrol boats came on the scene they had their Command verify one more time.STILL Washington denied her, either because the person on the phone did not know or because Johnson was playing games isn’t known, but Israel was told as the battle raged she was not American.
    American sailors died, yes. But any competent field commander would have ordered that ship sunk. The Liberty’s special comms were awkward, as the state of the art electronics of the time demanded. Her pleas for help were not understood at first because of the unusual secrecy and routing. Her ‘normal’ comms were likewise confused, because she was not supposed to be there, according to the regular chain of command.
    Even so, a carrier group within range did start to scramble help, after a couple hours…but by then it was too late. This wasn’t exactly a mistake, as the Israelis meant to attack. But it was an accident because WE denied that ship- Johnson let those troops die, probably to try and keep the Soviets from knowing he was running illegal ops.
    No shame to the Israelis there- the shame was ours.
    Unless you have read declassified communiques, say from WWII, you wouldn’t believe how many good men our ‘leaders’ knowingly let die…for political games.

  14. Israel doesn’t trust the UN. That’s why they have a seat at the UN.
    If they don’t have a seat at the UN, then they don’t get to stand up front and make their case there.
    The Paleosimians have a UN seat(occupied by a member of Hamas) and they don’t even have an official country.
    Not having a UN seat means that part of the PR battle is lost.

    That is BS the Carrier Fighters were “recalled” by LBJ. (it is interesting who was present, and advising LBJ at that time) The attacks on the USS Liberty continued after the fighters were recalled & there is no doubt they would have engaged Israel and saved lives on the USS Liberty.
    The USS Liberty was a “known” spy ship and they where snooping on Israel’s aggressive push into religious areas prior to the agreed UN truce.
    LBJ didn’t run for a second term, and the Senate didn’t hear from members of the USS Liberty. It was a disgrace that didn’t have a proper Senate hearing… similar to Obama’s failure to defend Benghazi.
    LBJ was a piece of dog shit.

  17. I’m afraid it is already lost. Israel has proven to be the more humane nation and yet the UN still attacks it.
    It would cripple the UN if a major player- like the US or Canada- were to withdraw from it.

  18. and Johnson possibly had a “team” in Dealy Plaza that day in 63. There were 2 different casings found, in 1984, behind the infamous picket fence, the 2nd one was not that of confessed shooter Files. Yah Johnson was a piece of shit!
