  1. Nice car!
Pieces? Hope they caught the thieves. No doubt they were going to part it out.

  2. That’s a crappy deal to find it in pieces. i knew some folks involved in the business of parting out cars in Regina a couple of decades past. I believe they’ve all done their time by now.
Does SGI settle the loss as a “1968 Cutlass” or for what the replacement value is?

  3. these things are quite often “steal to order”, and if so, gone except for the scrap parts. Drive trane is mostly what is on order.

  4. It was an extremely well known car – Bob does a lot of body and paint work for the drag racers in this area. It was targeted.

  5. I used to own a 68 Delta 88. 455 cubic inches with a 4 barrel carb. You could actually see the gas gauge move when you drove fast. Called it the Rocket 88 and it went to more punk and blues shows in the 70’s than most people saw in their lifetime.

  6. Classic cars have an agreed upon appraised value for insurance purposes. My ’68 Camaro has a value of $33,800, which includes HST.

  7. It is sometimes odd the lengths and distance stolen vehicles can go.
Here locally a gravelpit had a dump truck, trailer and tractor-backhoe stolen on a weekend. Then the truck was spotted in the ME with the name still on the door….the rest was found nearby……Akmed, the aweful, insisted he bought it new…..
The insurance company sold it there….the cost of repatriating it was too high.
A shipping container bound for Kuwait was opened in Rotterdam and found to be stuffed(literally…heedless of damage) with stolen high end cars).
    Of course nobody…..shipper nor receiver…..knew nothin’….

  8. Stealing parts is nothing new. When I was a kid in SW Sask. in the mid-60`s, guys were stealing 327 Chevrolet engines from Massey Ferguson 510 combines. One custom harvest operator from Oklahoma had a 66 Chevrolet C-60 stolen from the field at night. The mounties suspected it was an insurance fraud.
In or about 1997, the truck was involved in an accident near Prince Albert, Sask. They traced it back to a used car dealer who had died many years prior to the accident.
I feel bad for the guy who owned that 442. Bastards who steal cars should be horse whipped.

  9. I had a 72 Cutlass convertible for 20 years and did a lot of the work on it myself, sold it 8 years ago.
Kick the jack out from those responsible.

  10. In hell, those bastards should a choice of two radio stations – one with golf on it, the other with soccer.

  11. The thief should be forced to listen to CBC radio for eternity.
“We feel that is where the car was stripped,” – OH. Classic date RAPE.

  12. “In hell, those bastards should a choice of two radio stations – one with golf on it, the other with soccer.”
Even better, they should have to listen to endless reruns of the CBC National News with that twit Newman.

  13. Had a 70′ GTO, Silver, black interior, tach on hood, wing on back, 400 CI, 400 turbo trans, positrac. True dual exhaust, AM/FM with a 8-Track Player, all from the factory. Loved that car. Sold it in 85′ Still kick my butt everytime I think about.
    ,
Car thieves should be shot on sight.

  14. You can bet it was found near a Reservation chop shop.
Sorry your work has been deep sixed by thieves.Must make your teeth grind. It would me.

  15. Kate, You might want to ask Brent Butt about that car. The one Butt drove in Corner Gas was also a 1968 Cutlass. #MidnightAuto
A cousin got his parent’s hand me down ’68 4 door sedan Cutlass. It had a 350 Rocket 4 bbl. The car was sneaky fast, unfortunately the brakes weren’t so great. Panic stops usually caused the car to do a 180 degree spin. Not fun at a witnessed 100mph, from the front passenger seat.
