Interesting. I did not know 90% of that and suddenly I are a expert. I don’t have a bookie but would like to place a bet on Cal.Chrome. Can it be done on the net and is it legal or does one actually have to be in attendance ? Normally I don’t even buy lottery tickets but a bet on horses was on my bucket list and for some illogical reason I like this horse.

peterj, It is legal via, Ag Canada Regulations.
Your best bet is to check with your local track. Marquis Downs in Saskatoon offers parimutel off-track betting at Sports on Tap sports bar. In Regina at the Pump Roadhouse.
There is also Horse Player Interactive which allows online off-track betting, but I do not know if the Belmont in NY is available on it.
