The animal rights cult (AKA species Marxism) has the ultimate goal/belief that there should be no interaction between humans and animals what so ever – no agricultural husbandry, no domestic pets, no sporting use – where this contradictory reasoning was morally/scientifically justified one can only speculate, but IMHO it seems to be another insular urban neurotic obsession which the radical left ran with as another means to polarize the culture and inject more state control in our lives.
But I digress – This neurotic dissimulating political moralizing has been taken up by progressia’s statist elite, and as you can see by the stupidity displayed in this HBO interview, we can expect them to push another polarizing agenda in the ongoing culture war between malicious statism (the left) and the rest of us who just want to be left alone to pursue our lives as we see fit regardless of how many bigoted misanthropes get their nose out of joint seeing people enjoy their freedom of choice.
The culture war will go hot some day – look south. We see America undergoing a fundamental resurgence of constitutional patriotism and containment of out of intrusive/abusive government which is alarming the statist left control infrastructure to the point of arming up against red state America rebellion – Strangely enough a similar movement started in Canada 30 years before the Americans decided to take their government back from abusive authoritarian leftists – unfortunately our Reform movement was demonized by the partisan media and infiltrated and blunted by status-quo klepto statists from the eastern PC networks and is now totally neutered by Ottawa insiders controlling the CPC caucus agendas – will be interesting to see if this pattern repeats down south.
Dogs, like guns, frighten liberals.
Why can’t everyone be a respectable gay hipster, elderly hippie, or Marxist like the intellectuals of downtown Tranna…?!?!?
Journalism and documentaries aren’t about facts anymore, they are about trolling, agitating and ratings. We should do the same right back to them: Did you know that 95% of all child molestors are liberals? Film at 11:00!
And once again, the truth is malleable enough to smear whomever you choose as a target.
Yeah well, even here in Morontario, about 20-30 years back, it was legislated/court ruled that folks had the right to keep pets….and that “no pet” clauses in leases were illegal.
“No pet” clauses still manifest in leases but serve no function/purpose other than brinksmanship….
These anti purebred notions, are based largely on the results of a minority of, what amount to be purebred puppy mills.
A few years back, the sudden popularity of Dalmatians, resulted in a whack of more or less blind dogs.
I’ve had purebred dogs since 1969 and the two most spectacular ones were brother/sister crosses – like Cleopatra. Dogs from healthy bloodlines don’t tend to have the genetic problems we associate with incest! My dogs have met the standards for the breed although I have never shown them and two are currently over 14 years of age – not bad for large/medium dogs. In fact, my crossbreed, who preceded the purebred ones, didn’t quite make 13; so much for the “mongrel advantage”. The vet and AKC rep knew what they were talking about, HBO not so much.
Well, you know, this kind of stuff used to bother me. People would pick on me about my genuine one-of-a-kind purebred Greater Glengarry Moosehound, Jerome. It was his lineage they laughed at. I mean his old man was a Temiskaming Trotter and his old doll a Saskatoon Squatter…not exactly noble breeds in the Dog World.
They all used to say, “Now with parents like that, whadaya expect that mutt to amount to?”
But they don’t ask no more. Because I got a pretty good answer: “Hell, lookin’ around at current events, I think he’s got a pretty good chance of being our next PM or maybe even President of the US!”
I’ve owned purebred working dogs for decades. Years ago I thought that purebred was the final word in the canine world. Today not so much.
A closed genetic book can’t be good for the future of any breed. I have seen too many dogs of mixed breed that can do the job. A breed standard is just a subjective group of man-made characteristics that the breed must be seen to meet. The judge at the dog show is looking for those subjective standards that meet his/her minds eye.
While I don’t object to folks wanting to raise purebred dogs, and I have benefitted from the pursuit, it seems to me that the purebred gene pool is so concentrated that not much good can come from it in the future.
In the human medical field there is much interest in studying human populations that have tight genetic pools.
