Thoughtcrime at Mozilla;
This is a perfect illustration of the degree to which the same-sex marriage movement has succeeded in conflating the belief that the down-stream effects of same-sex marriage might be, net-net, problematic for society with hatred, bigotry, etc. toward gays.
Of course this is a selective conflation. If you’re Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama circa a few years back, you’re just misguided. But whatever.

So, you’re -not- in favor of destroying anyone who thinks Marriage is only for one boy and one girl?
Gee, sorry I misunderstood your multiple posts where it looked like that was what you were saying. Silly me.
Ignore Spinal Tap, just a troll with nothing useful to say.
But back to the topic, the key thing to understand here is that these radical Nazis are sending a message “You disagree with us, and we will destroy you, financially, personally, or both”. They seize these opportunities and their goal is to frighten the population into submission. Worse, they have the power to carry out their threats, and will use that power in a second.
This is no different than Steyn vs. Mann, or Ezra vs. Human Rights, and so forth.
The common thread is the attempt to erode free speech, which in turn means the erosion of free ideas, with all the consequences that follow.
BC said: “This is no different than Steyn vs. Mann, or Ezra vs. Human Rights, and so forth.”
I see your point BC, but there is one important distinction. Brendan Eich voluntarily stepped down from his CEO post due to “public” pressure and people being d1cks to him inside the company. Levant and Steyn were being censored by government, which is something else indeed. Steyn vs. Mann is a SLAPP suit, and is different again.
Private companies in a free country are entitled to behave in any way they see fit. If they want to purge their ranks of ideological impurity, they may do so. They may also be driven out of business by their less-insane competitors.
Perhaps its time for a non-insane alternative browser company. You can take the Mozilla open source code and roll your own. That’s the whole point of open source, you don’t have top put up with anybody’s BS.
What happened at Mozilla was very McCarthyesque. Have they misplaced the parts of their constitution dealing with freedom of association, free speech, and free thought?
Will witch hunts for “anti-gays” (anyone remotely negative or critical about the demands of the LGBTW etc.) start to extend into the rank and file?
As for Firefox and I stopped using it long ago. It was clunky and quirky. Chrome with Ghostery installed rocks.
Yeah it’s probably nothing.
Oops that belonged on the Phantom labour-camp-sorting machine post. Oh well same diff. Oh and if tempted to dismiss above author as just another kooky professor whose views never hit mainstream.. his son is a MLA.
Be careful what you sayd today, maybe those comments critisizing bestiality today will be enough to get you run out of your job in another five years.
Someone has indicated that the Opera browser is very good. I used to use it and it is good. Not sure if it is still free.
Question: how does dropping Firefox hurt the company if you don’t pay for the browser anyway? Maybe this is a naive question, but I don’t see how they make their money.
“The data is clear that there is no damage.” Only very limited studies have been done — usually targeting stellar families, and looking at superficial things like “just as good at school work.” What needs to be done is a study on how children are affected when they lack either a male or a female role model within the family environment. At this point I don’t think we have a good fix on how gay “marriages” will affect society broadly and the next generation.

No more pics of Alison Redfraud please & ok.
We’re done with it.
If the Republicans truly were in opposition to the advancing fascism of the left, they would SHUT DOWN the IRS until the leaker of this man’s personal data was made an example of. But they aren’t; like the Dems, they keep their eye on the prize, which is a multimillion dollar salary as a lobbyist once they leave ( as they put it ) ” public service “.
” some vague sense of tradition” Oh my. If this is all that marriage has ever been, then it’s gone and probably was not worth saving. But for many people it did represent more than a traditional nicety. For many people it was an important building block for society, a foundation for raising families and sheltering children. But gay marriage destroys that. It is as someone said above — if it can mean anything, it means nothing. The definition becomes quite arbitrary.
Where are my posts detailing the fraud of the Regnarus study and the multitude of studies demonstrating the non-harm of gay adoption? Where are my other posts?
gay marriage destroys that
Oh blow it up your behind. Gay marriage was normal across lots of civilizations. The ancient Chinese didn’t bat an eye towards homosexuality. The ability of two guys to marry has NO IMPACT on the ability of a man and women to marry.

This is truly disturbing.
On a side note, Mozilla’s browser, is the worst I’ve encountered. I’ve used web based software supposedly optimized for Mozilla, and it it is absolute crap on Mozilla, versus smooth operation on Google Chrome.
This incident reminds me I need to take the Mozilla crap off my hard drive.

Yea? There were now Gay Couples on Noah’s Ark that made it to today, I saw the old movie version.
So add that up your behind as well.
I missed it.

Well, it has never been “normal” in the Western Judeo-Christian society, and many other societies. I am not familiar with the “ancient” Chinese. I am sure you can ferret out bizarre practices in many societies. This is about our society.
The issue is not whether or not people are willing to accommodate homosexuality — most are — the issue is whether or not gay marriage undermines the institution itself. I say it does. OF COURSE nothing prevents men and women from marrying, but once the institution has lost its meaning, why would anyone bother? They won’t. It will take about a generation to appreciate the impact, but in my view, marriage is gone . . . gone.

Ancient China?
In modern China, with over a billion communists in one country, there’s no wonder they would implement a 1 child policy, subsequently aborting “unwanted” females and make as many that lived as gay as they could.
It’s simply the Liberal thing to do.
Inter-racial marriage was also seen as a ‘bizarre’ practice for wholly unsound reason and these views were also junked. Your world is simply being left behind.

Exactly!
“Inter-racial marriage was also seen as a ‘bizarre’ practice for wholly unsound reason and these views were also junked. Your world is simply being left behind.”
Oh there’s that asinine false equivocation again…
Race is morally neutral. Sex acts are not. Homophiles need to stop conflating the two.
Supporting Prop 8 was an example of individuals exercising their right at self-government, and pushing back the increasingly-fascist gay lobby. How unsurprising that statist louts would characterize it as “an evil act”. Besides, you shouldn’t be queening about Prop 8, the California SC over-stepped its authority and it’s dead. Democracy is great, isn’t it?
Very interesting comment discussion in the NYT in response to this typical piece of NYT shallow journalism http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/04/04/why-mozillas-chief-had-to-resign/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=1&
