    And columnist Don Braid takes her to task as well. Redford’s SO obviously another elitist who believes the rules are for others,Albertans must have had their heads in the sand when they voted her in with a huge majority, and expected anything else.
    Lately Redford has been making our own “single Mother” Preem seem almost Thatcher-like by comparison.

  18. The Herald is Calgary’s Liberal newspaper, Redford is supposed to be the Conservative party’s leader.
    Where is the Alberta Liberal Party’s female leader?
    Where is the Alberta NDP Party’s female leader?
    Why is Calgary’s Liberal newspaper leveling Liberal style identity politics accusations of sexism in defence of the conservative party’s leader?
    Could it be that Alison Redford and the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta are not conservative at all?
    If not, Albertans need to know. I don’t think they will elect this party to govern next election if they know the PCs aren’t conservative.

  20. I don’t know what personal nerve this issue has struck with Ms. Klassen and I think that her argument is way off the mark. However, she’s generally no shill for Redford or the PC government (and the City of Calgary, for that matter).
    She’s written some fairly scathing commentary recently about wasteful government spending, the ‘Friends of the Medicare System’ and Mayor Nenshi’s grab of tax dollars intended to be returned to Calgarians. Not bad for someone who grew up working for the CBC.

  23. OTOH, it is tough being a parent and being in politics, and lots of other jobs also.
    If you can’t do both, then make a choice.
    Justin is on day 12 of parental leave, which raises a few questions ?
    The first ;
    Is he negotiating with Maury Povich for an appearance fee?
    The second;
    Why does he get to leave his job for this long and is not questioned by the media? If he chose to take the EI paternity leave, fine. But we should still know where he is . We are paying his wage.

  24. The Alberta advantage is truly and terminally gone. Alberta is now just another enclave of klepto-demntia progressia with the worst (poser) government it has ever suffered under. The Calgary Herald and Edmonton Journal are as red as the CBC. Land titles is a branch office of Agenda 21, government is as large as it has ever been and more intrusive and belligerant than ever before with the provincial police competing with street punks for B&E swag while gang violence increases the cops are busy sniffing your breath through the car window – it is no longer Alberta it is a fully annexed UN vassal state.
    – And it only took a few years – who said female political leaders can’t get things done.

  25. While it only took a few years to undo the good Premier Klien did in the early ’90’s,by the infiltration of progressive posers. This weekend the start of the same plan was launched in Okatoks. Winning the nomination for McCloud was a journalist named John Barlow. He ran as a PC against Danielle Smith, losing by 2k votes. Like all the PC’s the Edmonton Journal and Calgary Herald he dismisses the High River gun grab as nothing more than protecting the people from themselves. He will get elected in the bi election and become a MP in the CPC. So the infiltration begins.
    I will be staying involved with my constituency board,working to get more WRA elected. But I fear my great province is going the way of Ontario. Regulations, rules, debt, political correctness.
    Going to really miss the Alberta advantage.
