  1. Why would any Canadian of Ukrainian descent ever vote Liberal ?
Michael Ignatieff wrote of them; “I have reasons to take the Ukraine seriously indeed. But, to be honest, I’m having trouble. Ukrainian independence conjures up images of peasants in embroidered shirts, the nasal whine of ethnic instruments, phony Cossacks in cloaks and boots…”
He wrote that before the Liberals parachuted the future czar into the Etobicoke—Lakeshore riding.
Once he landed, he fought his way through the grassroots, dismissing critics wherever they popped up, and claimed his rightful territory.
‘I am Michael of the Ignatieff family, I am your leader’.
Fast forward 10 years, and the current Liberal leader makes jokes about the crisis in Ukraine. Is Iggy advising him?
    Where is JT now ???
He has disappeared. He is taking time off to be with his new-born.
Good for him, but that is not what a leader does. It has been about a week now.
Are we still paying his salary ???
A buddy just had his first. He works for the federal gov’t. He was given one day off with pay. He took a week off, but 4 days came off his pay cheque.
    So, where is JT ???
Where is the media outrage at his shirking of responsibility ???
Junior is not a leader, not even close.

  2. This whole ‘carbon levy’ is debating the insignificant. Canada produces 2% of the worlds GHGs. ANYTHING we do is insignificant compared with the USofA’s 18% and China’s 28% of world GHGs. We could shut down all petroleum production in Canada and the world’s GHGs wouldn’t change.
Canada is NOT a major GHG player, people need live with that, and stop blowing our meager contribution out of proportion trying to make Canada into something it’s not.

That’s pure unadulterated Bullfudge !! …and an insult to our intelligence.
There is no ‘crisis’, Russia has everything under control in the Ukraine. Like it or not the violence and bloodshed of the past months has stopped. Too bad about the vicarious entertainment for some people being over. Those people need to get a life beyond media propaganda.
The Russia-Ukraine manufactured ‘crisis’ is an excuse for oil companies to raise gas prices.
Besides that, the oil that makes Vancouver’s fuel comes from BC and Alberta, not the Ukraine.
People should use common sense and not be duped by the left-wing media. They’re flogging an agenda, not telling the ‘whole truth and nothing but the truth’.

  4. Any excuse to jack up prices. They do it because they can and their victims have no alternative except to freeze or buy electric heaters and then get screwed by Hydro.

  5. Well, if Wall wants to start slow with a carbon levy he will have to start without me as I will stay home in the next election. Just another stinking progressive?

  6. Oh….that kind of gas. Still the same reason. Because they can and who will stop them ?

  7. I find Wall’s statement disappointing as I had high hopes for him. Trains emit a lot of CO2. Pipelines , none. You would think that’s a better rational to push in favor of Keystone. Of course a tax on C02 (nothing) is very popular with all politicians.

Russia Today anchor quits on live TV over Putin ‘whitewashing’
A Russia Today anchor quit live on air Wednesday, declaring she cannot work for a station that “whitewashes the actions of Vladimir Putin.”
Liz Wahl, who works in the network’s Washington DC bureau, said her grandparents came to the United States to escape Soviet oppression.
“And that is why personally I cannot be part of a station funded by the Russian government that whitewashes the action of Putin,” she said, reading from a statement.
“I’m proud to be an American and believe in disseminating the truth. And that is why after this newscast I’m resigning.”
Earlier, Ms. Wahl had tweeted: “Just spoke to grandparents who came to US as refugees escaping Soviets during Hungarian revolution. Amazing to hear amid new Cold War fears.”

America has become a dystopian nightmare no different than the Ukraine – they just have Hollywood media culture and monopoly money to cloak the corruption.

“China Bear Stearns Moment Seen by BofA in Solar Default”
“The growing risk of default by Shanghai Chaori Solar Energy Science & Technology Co. may become China’s “Bear Stearns moment,” prompting investors to reassess credit risks as they did after the U.S. securities firm was rescued in 2008, according to Bank of America Corp.
“We doubt that the financial system in China will experience a liquidity crunch immediately because of this default but we think the chain reaction will probably start,” Hong Kong-based strategists David Cui, Tracy Tian and Katherine Tai wrote in a note yesterday. During the U.S. financial crisis, it took a year “to reach the Lehman stage” when investors began to panic and shadow banking froze, the strategists added.”

  18. Regarding Premier Wall’s seemingly feeling not so bad about a wee wee really teensy small carbon tax, well apparently, according to local talk radio show host John Gormley on his show this morning, Wall was musing an answer to a question. He should know better than to trust anyone from CBC.
So I don’t know at this point. Afterall, he is allowing Sask Power to erect a number of bird blenders. I mentioned my displeasure with this to Randy Weeks the other day at a local meeting.

  21. Nice music selection. I know this tune because the Rolling Stones did it on the album “Black and Blue”.
