  1. Less worried about the eco-terrorist going after the pipeline, it’s the bands I worry about. The changes brought about by bill C-68 cut the FN leadership off at the knees and encourages the younger generation to take up other means. Plus Ottawa totally ignoring consultation in BC for the last decade and finally waking up to the reality in the last 6 months and doing dog and pony shows across the region trying to smooth things down. Also legal action and civil disobedience such as blockades can drive up the cost of building liner projects.

  5. Too bad you have no clue what you are talking about, Colin. “Consultation” does NOT mean the Indian bands have some kind of veto power. As for FN “leadership”, for the most part, it roundly DESERVED to be cut off at the knees.

  9. Anyone who plots to attack our infrastructure is indeed a terrorist. I hope the law treats them as such, but won’t be expecting it.
    To that end, any group funding these retarded f*cks should be treated as any other group caught funding terrorism. I would not at all be surprised to see Middle East oil money making it to these useful idiots.

  10. I’m glad to hear this. WHen the ecoterrorists move to violence they lose much of their sway over the populace.
    As for the violence, it should not prove much of a problem for police and soldiers – once the violence reaches
    the level that it threatens the safety of peace officers, and they can in turn use violent force.
    I look forward to seeing a couple of ecoterrorists shot dead.
    We also need a law against economic sabotage. The Soviet Union had such a law, one of the few good things
    about that polity.

    The eco-terrorists will probably cause some damage,but when they’re caught and go to trial, chances are pretty good they’ll face a sympathetic Judge.
    The Cops aren’t going to shoot anyone, unless it’s an armed white male out walking near the pipelines with vigilantism in mind. The “First Nations” DO have de facto veto power over any development on their lands. They can also raise a private army and face down our politically correct police,who won’t lift a finger against them.
    Remember Caledonia and Gustaffson Lake?
    The Injuns can and will be bought,Chiefs and Band Councillors payoff first, then the rank and file wagon burners.Perhaps the pipeline companies can hire the entire Band on whose land the lines pass, and pay them a good wage to stay home.
    As long as we pay more than the Tides Foundation, things should work out okay. The lines will get built, but just like in third world Countries, baksheesh will have to be spread around first.

  16. All good points but it should be remembered that these foam at the mouth tree huggers and indians have the CBC on their side and approx. 50% of the public hates Harper. What we need is a Russian response to these wingnuts, but we don’t have a Putin or Putin’s power. We have a government that’s keeping a close eye on the next election and is afraid of annoying anyone. No restraints of any kind on the activists and they are well aware that a Liberal/NDP win would be like hitting the jackpot with Justin looking for root causes and Mulcair vowing to shut down all industry. Canada is no longer our parents nation. That’s why they no longer teach history in school. The only hope is that if the activists get enough rope, they might hang themselves. I’m hoping Harper gets a decisive majority next election. If not, then we are truly screwed.

  17. I understand where you are coming from, please allow me to offer you some hope. Where the media and the liberal machine in general definitely are out for Harper at every turn, they may not quite get the support you suggest on this.
    Throughout our recent provincial election, the BC NDP party was considered an absolute shoe-in. That was until their leader finally committed to a position and came out as against the pipeline. His union support evaporated almost immediately and the party lost big-time.
    Of course, I am not a climatologist so I won’t tell you of the future, but I can imagine, as western economies continue to falter, that the desperation for well paying jobs may trump any bogus green ideology. It most certainly did here in BC.

    Absolutely, that is what happened. IMHO if PMSH is smart he will run a campaign on the same planks as the BC Liebels. That said the power of the Canadian federal government means that ALL anti oil forces both domestic and foreign will unite to work against his defeat.
    The CPC re-election will be a formidable challenge. Between the carpetbaggers in eastern Canada and forces from outside like OPEC, Russia and the USA I am very concerned that re-election will be impossible. Even in my riding here in BC which has historically polled + 60% CPC re-election is in doubt.
    The CPC and Harper do not talk to Canadians! They had enough time as a minority government to formulate an education program explaining the economic challenges facing Canada and failed to do so. To a large extent the ‘progressives’ with the party have reasserted their positions.

  19. Actually I do know all to well what I am talking about, I actually have do that consultation and I see the good and the bad.
