This Is Not Your Grandma’s Humane Society

Importing strays from Asia; (link updated)

Living in a country where it is difficult to get a banana through customs, (especially since 9-11) and where livestock importation is strictly regulated and animal protection groups seek ever-tighter regulation of dogs from breed enthusiasts along with commercial breeders, it is a sick and intolerable paradox that poorly bred, often diseased, foreign-bred dogs enter our country by the thousands with the barest of regulation – often on airlines that fly them to the US at no charge to help out the ’cause.’ Seemingly, the only unregulated operators in the animal world today are the ‘animal dealers’ working in the animal protection groups that fundraise on overpopulation while importing dogs from overseas. Indeed, the only thing that puts the madness into perspective is the fact that importing groups and the national animal rights groups that support them are still fundraising on the issue of ‘pet overpopulation!’

  1. Importing cats and dogs. Great – it gives us the opportunity to kill more of our own. Besides, they make better use of the dogs and cats they kill in Asia.

  2. ……poorly bred, often diseased, foreign-bred……….”
Yet Obama will grant “amnesty” to am untold number of such people. Heh. Go figure.

  3. This sound like our abortion/immigration policies.
The number of immigrants accepted into Canada yearly are eerily similar to the number of annual abortions covered under our socialized medical plans.

  4. Simple answer: Only allow the animals and their dealers to ride in unpressurized cabins. Problem solved and the animals ( 4 legged) won’t suffer.

  5. My stepson the moronic leftist fell for this, or his wife did. He bought three of the things. They’re expensive, because unhealthy. He thinks they came from the US, but then he thought that McGuinty was a good Premier of Ontario.
God has a nasty sense of humour, to inflict this idiot on my wife and myself.

  6. My husband and I disagree on this. He is naive enough to think that the humane societies are reaching out to animals in even worse condition than here. To me, we don’t do enough for the pets, livestock and wildlife in our own country. Importing more is an alternative revenue ruse and shameful to say the least. I don’t give a nickel to any of the big human societies anymore and regret the money given earlier. I donate solely to a small, local charity that uses the money to spay and neuter strays in my county. The gal who runs the charity is a big Republican operative who keeps a heavy hand on activities at the local town pound. I just adore her. The big humane society across the river won’t even respond to calls for help for distressed wildlife and does away with their excess strays. May they all rot in Detroit.
