Recycling News

In a report about the gas massacre in Syria, BBC uses photo taken ten years ago in Iraq.

Photographer Marco di Lauro said he nearly “fell off his chair” when he saw the image being used…The picture, which was actually taken on March 27, 2003, shows a young Iraqi child jumping over dozens of white body bags containing skeletons found in a desert south of Baghdad. It was posted on the BBC news website today under the heading “Syria massacre in Houla condemned as outrage grows”.

  1. In the recycling meme, the Soviets would point out there is no news in BBC News. Not much truth either.

  2. Reduce, Recycle, Reuse but this is going too far.
Is the BBC going to rototiller their graves as well…?

  3. It does not matter if the photograph is really from today, or recently, in Syria. What matters is that it fits and supports the narrative.

  4. Certainly makes one wonder what else has been acted, staged and recycled. Like our CBC, the BBC will only see what meets their preconceived notions. Ask me no questions and I’ll tell you no lies.

  5. Terrence is right on the mark.
Journo schools have only been graduating activists for decades now. These kids get out of the U, and for many their first job in the real world is to tell the rest of us what to think (as trained by their Marxist profs).
Have a plan in place for your family when reality catches up with the progressive utopia they think they’re building.

  6. Now that we know the true origin on this photo does it mean Obozo is going to invade Iraq? Seems that the green helmet guy has been cloned.

  7. if you believe this was a mistake you are fooling yourself. It is PROPAGANDA, the BBC is heavily into the lies of the left!

  8. How many times do people have to see the fake video coming out of the ME before they clue in. Egypt a few weeks ago, the West Bank, Lebanon, Gaza. Why would Syria be any different? When you are losing you do what works.
The unanswered question is why the Syrian army would use gas when they are winning? The ‘Allies’ ran it up the pole and when embarrassing questions were asked they mutated it into lower echelon officers who used the gas without authorization. This is in an army who’s commander(Assad) is considered brutal and spends lives on a whim.
If the ‘Willing’ want to go into Syria then at least tell the truth. Explain the geopolitics of it all and sell it on the merits, not on BS. As another poster mentioned it appears the expiry date for the Senator from Arizona has passed. John appears to be a little off side this time around.
