USA Today, August 21st: An advocacy group has called for “Skip Starbucks Saturday” this weekend – a nationwide boycott on Aug. 24, to pressure the coffee giant to amend its current policy, which allows customers to carry loaded guns into Starbucks stores where permitted by state law.
King5 News, August 24th: “As a barista at Starbucks this was one of the busiest mornings I have ever experienced! Pretty awesome! One customer came through THREE times all before noon just to show support! I love Starbucks customers!”

I support the weapons carriers and Starbucks for allowing them to do that.
On the other hand, Starbucks ( AKA Fourbucks) has the crappiest, most expensive product I have ever experienced. Went one time and asked for a black coffee. The woman didn’t know what I was talking about. A yuppiefied dump.

I really wish,when people have a law that allows them to carry guns,they would show some common sense and handle the guns properly so they don’t give the Other Side any figurative ammunition.
My gun club has been in operation for over fifty years.We have NEVER had an accident where someone got shot in all that time,and everybody there carries a gun.
One woman dropped her purse and the gun inside fired off a round into another woman’s leg. For F***’s sake!

IMO, Starbucks, the company that sued a young Indian fellow in the Queen Charlottes a few years back for naming his coffee shop,”Haida Bucks”, serves caffeinated battery acid, hate the stuff.

I’m not surprised Starbucks did better on the day of the anti-gun boycott. Look at Chick Fill-A, same thing. This happens every time the Lefties pull one of these stunts, pretty much.
People on the Left really don’t get how seriously outnumbered they are, and just how much contempt they are held in by “average” Americans. That would be the people who work and pay the taxes.
It’s getting to the point where I wonder if our species isn’t spilting into two groups: Those desire to submit body and soul into some sort of collective (the state), and those who would remain individuals, responsible for themselves.
I’m trying to say that it’s beyond political philosophy.
Short of public displays of faith to a deity other than the state, there’s nothing like the possessing the means of self defense to drive progressives off their rockers!

The thing is, totalitarian collectivism isn’t bad for -everybody-. Some people make out just fine. Some even make out like bandits and become rich. I figure about a third of the population gets along quite nicely, thanks.
That would be the round peg people. The ones that “fit in” to the nice round holes all prepared for them by the Collective. The jocks and cheerleaders in-crowd at high school with their peripheral hangers-on. The middle management grey men in every f-ing company bigger than 200 people in the world. The society women who float about and kibitz their way through life. Teachers union members. I’m sure Soviet Russia and Communist China are a lovely environment for them.
But then there are the square pegs. Too dumb to shut up and play along, or not pretty enough (or too pretty!), or too politically inept to read the tea leaves right, or just not interested in doing what they’re supposed to do. Or just plain unlucky.
That would be the other two thirds. Including me, and probably most of the commentariat at SDA. I see no reason we all should lay down and die just so the in-crowd can have a nice easy time in the new police state of Kanada. But I’m not surprised when they keep voting to keep their sinecures at my expense.
I went into ours Saturday. The barista didn’t even know they were having a boycott. Neither did the customers who overheard my conv. with the barista on why I was there. But we live in the foothills/mountains of Central Calif and most everyone here believes in their 2nd amendment rights. Unlike to coastal ‘tards that run this state (into the ground).

The whole anti-gun cult has been abandoned by many a wise Liberal who was either mugged, saw the feds buying up ordnance for domestic use and smelled what commissar Obumbum has planned for unarmed citizens.
What’s a poor boy to do? Having determined resolutely to stay away from Starbucks for its support of Planned Barrenhood and its left-wing enablers, one asks whether that pledge should be suspended for one day in response to the anti-gun boycott. This boycotting business can be a slippery slope.
I agree, Don, it’s ammunition for the anti gun side every time someone does something dumb with a firearm. But then the media is too stupid or biased to examine the harmful things people do with cars, skill saws, and other things by accident as well. Overall accidental discharges are rare and are a tiny cause of injuries. Whereas all the people who have been saved by owning and having a firearm are probably grateful they did.
That being said for goodness sakes if you are going to carry, carry a gun in a holster. And carry one that is drop proof with safeties etc. There are numerous models available you can drop from a tower and still won’t go off.
The nasal drippings of the left are becoming annoying , dropping as they are, into all our cups. Its a goblet of venomous vicious Lies by bullies.

I don’t “do” Starbucks: ‘way too expensive and pretentious (“Tall”? “Grande”? “Venti”? “Trente”?) But, I’d have gone to a Starbucks the day of the boycott just to support people standing up for their constitutional rights to carry a gun.
